Back with @thirstyeyesmusic second release on JEAHMON! Records. And here comes another hypnotic hymn: "Heyoka", that takes Melodic House music into the next level. A beat full of dark drums and toms that makes you gonna move. An unique lead line is the catching element this time that is also the main hook in Sasha Carassis Indie Dance touched remix. The Italian artist who already released on labels such as Diynamic, ATLANT or Renaissance puts his current brand of music production inside this work, focusing on the grooving drum arrangement. Although 2022 will see him celebrate a decade in dance, Luke Garcia one of the few artists who arguably turned the pandemic to his advantage with a discography that went into overdrive; Innervisions, Tau, Borders Of Light and Sum Over Histories were all added to the enviable CV over the past 2 years and now the peerless run continues with the ‘Ecro EP’ on Renaissance. 

Yet, ironically, the pandemic nearly put a hold on this momentum as Luke candidly admits....

“I took the whole lockdown thing very personally. I was at home with my family in Madrid feeling frustrated. I was secreting myself away in the studio, isolating on a creative and individual level, though nothing was flowing. One day, my wife Tania came in and we talked it through; she basically picked me up and put me back together - it was like a champagne cork popping, all the built-up pressure was released and I was suddenly able to channel everything into the happy melodies and inspirational voices that became ‘Ecro’. It’s a very special, personal track, which I gratefully dedicate to her.”

With the original’s joyful, emotive breaks firmly in place, Luke and Renaissance set about looking for the right remixer, someone who could bring a different style and feel to the track and Kiberu fit the bill perfectly. A relative newcomer to the scene, he’s already caught the attention of the likes of Dixon and me with his unique sound that fuses indie dance with slight Afro accents. It’s fair to say he’s one of the most unique musical voices to emerge in recent times, which he deploys to devastating effect with the remix. “I was born and live in Zurich but spent a large part of my childhood in the south of
Italy where there’s a passion for house. My music varies between deep, indie and melodic, but is also strongly influenced
by African rhythms. You can hear it in my work I think. I do like to mix it up and was instantly able to hear how I could apply ‘Ecro’s’ beautiful sounds to my style,” says Kiberu.

The EP rounds out with another very personal track, ‘Fiil’. “This was born by pure chance,” Luke explains, “We have young twins at home and I’ve been teaching and playing classical piano with them for over a year. One day an idea came to me as we were sat at the piano, so we composed it all together and my children ended up the architects of this special melody. It’s why it has so much feeling, certainly to me of course, which is why I named it ‘Fiil’, the direct Spanish
translation of the verb. I have to dedicate this one to Alexander and Valeria”.

Following up to his 2020-released sophomore album "Idiosynkrasia", Tim Engelhardt reemerges on Stil vor Talent with his new single, "Firestorm". Putting forth the widescreen poetic vision that has been flowing across his previous releases with an ever-fresh and adventurous approach, this Janus-faced new iteration from Tim fuses two distinct facets of the producer's output - one darker, more subdued, the other out-there and solar. 

Rolling hips with unabashed swagger, "Momentary" paves the way with a balanced mix of martial marching rhythms and floating keyboard melody tinged with a touch of Oriental chords. Slowly but surely hatching into a bespoke big-room churner as bars run by, the track offers moments of graceful escapism while steadily fanning the groove's flames so the fire doesn't go out, ever. Subtle yet grandiose, a piece of masterly executed electronics that definitely lacks no emotional power of agility. 

Draped in opaque shades of neo-classical harmonics, blazing with poignant violins, folk-pop-laced vocals and next-gen synth wizardry, the lead-track "Firestorm" oozes an ambiguous mix of dynamic strength and spiralling melancholy. A suspended moment unmoored by time and space, this is music to shiver and dream your life away to, equipped with the right amount of bass and club-focused assets to have any dance floor zoning out in its own cozy bubble of nostalgia-fuelled resilience.

Regado is a track that sonically represents one of the places I grew up in Porto. It’s part of one and too many projects in the city. A raw, decaying but real place that eats you up if you are not able to get out and explore your own path outside this world. It’s still somehow a community where you can find and learn the most beautiful values you can add on to society as a human being. 
I tried to create what would be like to have a sonic representation of that world. It’s violently happy and still manages to make sense with the album ethos. The symbiosis between light and darkness and the ability to walk on either side.

Italian duo Armonica has been a project we've discovered a long time ago, so working with the full release with guys is our pleasure and honour.
Their significant productions with Connected Frontline, Stil Vor Talent and Multinotes, as well as the recent remix, done with MoBlack for the legend of afro-beat Fela Kuti, released with Defected, have become the main reasons to love guys' sound.
The main title 'Slave' is powerful and effective banger edging between the melodic influence of laidback Indie Dance vibes and the acid sounds.
We are happy to have Dutch producer Patrice Baumel taking his hands on the remix of 'Slave': going more underground with powerful low-ends work, catchy melodies and the enveloping breakdown, Patrice's version is the undoubted proper floor-worker.
The third 'Ratio' has a profound ground: major synth spots and the melodic elements are unified into the properly performed track.
Enjoy any of the tracks from the release, either all of them; the second will make us happier.
While we prepare more to please you in future.
