Track one “Glorious” opens the EP with an explosive kick drum and immense vocal of biblical proportions.

Now on the fifth edition The Blokk Vol.5 includes individual tracks from The Reactivitz, Stiv Hey, Nicolas Taboada, DJ Jock, Alex Lentini and Ace Alvarez.
Many of the artists on this release have already proven themselves on other high profile techno imprints such as Intec, Phobiq, Unity Records, Elevate, Terminal M, OFF Recordings and Loose Records.
Ace Alvarez opens the EP with the pounding kick drum and warping synths of his track “Instinct”. Next is the rattling percussion and dramatic bass stabs of Alex Lentini’s “Epilogue” before DJ Jock lifts things up a gear with the throbbing acid-line of his track “Distant Lands Of Unknown”. Not to be outshone, Nicolas Taboada keeps the intensity high with the fast-flowing percussion of his cut “The Train”. Stiv Hey brings a hint of euphoria to the EP with his atmospheric masterpiece “The Hunter” and saving the best till last, The Reactivitz closes the release with the driving force of "Keep Your Mind Clear".

Continuing his rise to the top, I AM BAM is making his debut on Unrilis following his other releases on Kneaded Pains, Terminal M, Odd Recordings, Quartz Rec, Suara and Octopus.

I AM BAM is a talented artist who started his career as a session musician and songwriter working in different studios between L.A. and New York. Working in those studios he learnt skills from some of the world’s best producers, and experimenting with different ideas, has helped develop his compelling style of dark techno.

“You Know” opens the release with ethereal vocals that add to the trippy melodies and breath euphoria over the pounding percussion. Lifting the intensity, “Orbital” has warping synths and fast flowing rhythms that tantalise the senses. Dramatic and full of charisma “10X” has a spooky atmosphere perfect for capturing the imagination of the dance floor. Closing proceedings with bursts of energy and hypnotising tones, “Immersion” has the peak time sound that runs throughout this masterpiece of modern techno.

Flug - The Collection Quartz [QRZ LP001]

Having carved out a lane truly his own in the often harshly competitive world of techno, Argentinian-born / Barcelona-based producer Sebastian Lopez, alias Flug, has long proven to be no bit player in the scene and his compositions have kept signalling a fighting fit producer, whose highest standards of floor skippering and experimentation-friendly approach have never failed him over the years. Resurfacing three years after the drop of his debut vinyl album, 'In Safe Hiding', Flug clocks in on Quartz Rec with 'Flug I - The Collection' - a long-player bound to reconnect fully with the club and produce very energetic tracks that represent the techno he loves playing during his DJ sets. All tracks were originally written on tour, on the plane or in hotel rooms to better capture the dancefloor's vibe, using field recordings from around the globe and later processed in the studio via his analogue arsenal of preference.
 
Displaying the many octaves of his craft through great spreads of high-impact club engineering and frenzy-whipping mechanics, Flug takes us on a pulsating ride across the history of dance music - taking cues from Detroit's own cosmo-telluric tramplers from back the Underground Resistance armada's heyday, the Roman scene's classic acidulous four-to-the-floors, Berlin's big-room-busting DNA, dredged with a hint of dubby exploratory manoeuvres a la Maurizio. Both mineral in strength but liquid in its flowing abilities, Lopez's newest extension into the deep and intricate realms of club music collages without pastiching, extracts without bleeding dry, forming the backbone to an assortment of cuts that shall awake the restless dancer in you with optimal effect.
 
If tracks like the lushly verbed-out 'Ephos' and 'Sequences From The Black Basement' perhaps best define the track collection's overall headspace, merging Flug's trademark melodic shine with further obliterating rhythms that are sure to lay absolute waste in their wake, others like 'Mars' and 'Hyperventilation' go straight for the jugular with their deadly mix of paced-up martial rhythmics and elliptical grooves gone amok. Just as easy steering the focus into further leftfield-friendly horizons, like on the droney 'Ratio', via the freaky acid-popping of 'Box In A Box' and ambitious width of scope of 'A Different Choice', Lopez delivers something of a life-affirming message with this choice selection of club-oriented delicacies; drawing as much inspiration and energy from the dancefloors Flug got to become intimate with, as he intends to reflect such inspirational forces and energies across the rooms.

James Rodrigo is Waltervelt, the next hot young talent to land on the mighty Ellum Audio label.

Born in Joinville, Brazil, this 25-year-old has already been involved in the dance scene for a decade and has made his mark at the key clubs in South America. His well-formed sound is a smooth fusion of Italo disco, techno and electro that swells over you to make for immersive listening.

Adventurous opener ‘Lunar Operation’ is just that, a superb sonic trip built on rugged bass rumbles with old school cowbells and a real sense of cosmic drama from the synths and strings. It’s expansive, colourful and as cerebral as it is moving. 

The excellent ‘Magman’ is just as evocative but has a darker atmosphere with shooting lasers and tension in the bass riffs that keep you locked as you shoot through the sky.

This is another masterful EP on Maceo Plex’s agenda-setting Ellum Audio.

David Granha debuts on Unrilis with a new EP that's made in collaboration with label favourite Hollen.

Along with many releases on Unrilis, Hollen has also worked with other high-flying labels such as Intec, Filth On Acid, Tronic, 100% Pure and his own Prospect Records. Equally as successful, David Granha's tracks can be found on Odd Recordings, Octopus, Noir Music plus Phobiq, and he connected with Hollen via a release on his label.

This is the first time the pair have collaborated on original music, and their joint output is nothing less than exceptional, as their dark and powerful techno tracks are the perfect fusion of epic melody and pounding percussion.

'Try To Do It' blends ominous pads and swelling tension with a twisted euphoria, before 'Braided' takes control with its dystopian sound design. The pulsating rhythms of 'Alliance' bring an end of the night vibe to the EP. It's closed out with an intro mix of 'Try To Do It' that's the perfect tool for opening a DJ set in compelling style.
