For the second instalment from Quantum Entanglement we delve into the misty past, a time when moving parts ruled the dance, when the power of the night rested on a needle and a bassline, and before CDJs calculated the bpm for you...you had to touch things, buy things, and the bassline ruled over all.

Acid Thunder, a classic by Fast Eddie, was the first dance record i ever bought. It was important. The guy who sold it to me, at the time a spotty school kid in his school uniform, was called John Stapleton, and the shop was Sidetrax in Bristol. Mentrix totally gets the kinda NY sluttiness of the original, and brings it right up to date....less of a cover, more of a homage, the entanglement of then and now.

Need You is an entanglement of two very unlikely BFFs... John Lee Hooker and Joey Beltram. This isn't really a cover, it's more like the offspring of many things, times, and moments - it's like the grandchild of John Lee Hooker's track dated the nephew of Joey Beltram's track and lived in Neukölln. Again, Direct - "Techno Gone Mad" on R&S was another of my earliest techno purchases - at the time it was considered "Dutch Hardcore" but now, it's almost cute....

Sidney Charles & Santé have teamed up again to forge the 'Forever EP’ on Hot Creations with Russ Yallop on remix duty. Those that have witnessed their epic sets playing together will know the vibrant energy they create and this latest offering stands stead to them.

The title track ‘Forever’ uses dynamic claps, an indelible beat and a simple but effective vocal that ties all the elements together. With a playful production technique at its heart, this is a cut made for summertime. Things get a little darker with ‘Mogli’, morphing high-pitched, glitchy sounds alongside a hissing beat. On the flip side, Russ Yallop remixes ‘Forever’ to make the whole track bounce with a heavy and thick bassline.

Hamburg-born Sidney Charles has only been releasing music for four years but has already had a string of successes on labels such as 8bit, Moda Black, AVOTRE and VIVa. Berlin-based Santé is also involved with all areas of music as he DJ’s, produces, and is building on his own record label AVOTRE. Sidney Charles & Santé have previously released on Hot Creations with ‘All Night Long’ on the ‘Hot Summer Jams’ album.

Russ Yallop is a key member of the underground house scene and  is no stranger to Hot Creations; he has previously released ‘Traffic’ and ‘System Crank’ with them, whist also regularly DJing at their worldwide events. He is also an established member of the Crosstown Rebels family after first releasing with them in 2010.

Back in 2009, Coyu teamed up with Edu Imbernon to release 'El Baile Aleman' and it went on to become the most sold track on Beatport that year. Skip to 2015 and we've got a shiny set of remixes to accompany the club-smasher.

Subb-An has put his spin on the record but today we focus on Patrick Topping's edit and the Hot Creations bright spark has taken no prisoners this time round.

His edit is fiercer than the original and far techier. It's got mechanical bleeps, beautifully filtered sections and basslines so thick you'd need an axe to cut through them.

"Voguing is a style of dance that surfaced in the 1980s among the gay Black and Latino communities of New York City, eventually developing into a movement that gave the embattled groups a sense of community in an era that was none too friendly toward their kind. It first rose to mainstream prominence with the 1990 Madonna single Vogue, which featured voguing in the music video. Also in 1990, Paris Is Burning was released, a documentary which offered a window into the New York vogue and ballroom scenes.
With the widespread acceptance of gay culture in the present day coupled with the success of shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race, which draws heavily from the colloquialisms of the vogue era, voguing and its associated music have experienced somewhat of a renaissance. Enter KANDY and Juyen Sebulba, two DJs known for heavy, tribal rhythms who have put their own spin on vogue house with a new track, also named Vogue.
Elements typical of vogue house are definitely present in Vogue, including the male speaking voice and the “clang” sound that you hear right from the start of the track. The real unique quality is how heavy this track is–with its heavy kickdrums and loud snare, Vogue is perfect for the festival mainstage, and unsurprisingly, it’s already been picked up by several of those type of DJs, including Afrojack and Laidback Luke. To boot, there’s also an Acid Mix, which throws a nasty acid bassline into the drops. This is one track I’ve been personally excited for for months on end–I can’t recommend it enough as a surefire party-starter."

Oliver Koletzki – Iyéwaye (Hatzler Remix) [Full Track]

Now lot of people don’t like Mondays and we think that’s fair enough; going back to work feeling a decade older after a heavy weekend spent making memories with friends can be a chore for even for the most optimistic of us as we trudge back in to the daily grind.  Luckily, help is at hand as we've secured Dominica's unreleased summer anthem 'Gotta Let You Go'.

Having caused quite a stir in clubs and festivals across the globe throughout warmer months, we had feared that the track wasn't going to get an official release despite the likes of Jackmaster and Skream championing the track in their sets.

Thus we were delighted to hear that it would finally be arriving via Altra Moda Music this November and quickly set about securing it for premiere. Rock solid grooves, pumping synths and rolling snares underpin catchy, redolent vocals for a sunshine soaked floor filler guaranteed to ward off those winter blues.

Montreal artist @Kora-musique takes the next steps for recently launched New York label Earthly Delights, an imprint centred on spotlighting talents pushing the boundaries of electronic blends. The Canadian producer and DJ picks up the mantle from Yor Kultura, who provided the labels first release in a three tracker titled 'Odyssey'. Kora comes to the label after the well received 'Nuit D'Afrique' and 'Ovo' on Kindisch in November. He treats Earthly Delights to two original cuts in 'Fragile' and 'Vayu'. The pair have already seen much support  from the likes of Acid Pauli, Hernan Cattaneo, Oliver Schories, as well as heavy rotation on the playa. White Ocean founder Timujin supplies the remix action, reworking his own top notch version of 'Fragile'. Today, we're very excited to present to you in full premiere 'Fragile' in its original mix. This is an incredibly emotive cut, which fuses two distant worlds in one exquisite concoction. Soft pads, beautiful rhythms and a distinct eastern vibe mark the latest footprint in the journey of the young music maker. Release date - January 16th, 2017.
