The circus by night is back in town. Valhalla Festival will open its doors for their 2014 edition on the 20th of December. After two sold-out editions their bizarre ride will again feature a line-up that is well-stacked in both the house and techno department, as well as other genres. One of the main attractions will be frenchman Joris Delacroix. This 24 year old has been taking Europe and other parts of the world by storm with his broad take on contemporary deep house.

An act birthed from the island outreaches of Maui, the Hawaiian pairing of DJ/producer Marasco and vocalist Gretchen Rhodes were always going to craft something slightly left of dancefloor centre. While the production arm of the duo comes from a more conventional house and techno background, singer Rhodes has recorded and performed with iconic musical figures such Mick Fleetwood and Steven Tyler. 
Their creation for Bacchetti’s ENDLESS sees the duo deliver ‘Addiction’ a dubby offering, tinted in dusty atmospheric tones and a certain haunting, tension-filled dynamic thanks to Rhodes haunting vocals that masterfully switch between singing, spoken word and breathy whisper over the course of the seven minute cut.
Johannes Brecht takes ‘Addiction’ into decidedly sinister territory, muffling the vocals and introducing impact-heavy bass, dark stabs and an eerie bell melody to create a murky house re-work that’ll stand out from the rest.
Completing the package is Hamburg import Patlac, who pushes the work into more harmonic territory, with velvety synths coating a bed of crisp percussion, before a memorable key pattern adds a delicious hook.

Yes, it is classified as a paradise. In this paradise where a multicultural world meet with psychedelic, Polynesian and American sounds, it generates something really unique. After its release back in May 2014, 'Fine' became an integral part of Los Suruba's rise to prominence - receiving support from the likes of Maceo Plex, Steve Lawler, Dubfire, Hot Since 82, Blond:ish, Slam, Tim Green, Umek, DJ T, Groove Armada…
Now, as a thank you to their fans as well as marking the 50th release on their acclaimed imprint 'Suruba', a remix package of 'Fine' featuring Stan Ritch, Sebastian Roya, Upercent and Slow Hearts will be available to buy on 26th January. 
With the original delivering some of Los Suruba's signature bass heavy techno overlaid with the heartfelt vocals of Sutja Gutierrez, its latest remixes are equally impactful - and represent a group of up and coming producers the duo are keen to unearth. Stan Ritch's rework opens the package and explores a much darker realm of production, whilst Sebastian Roya strips back its vocals to transform 'Fine' into an atmospheric club construction. Upercent delivers a punchy rework to follow, whilst Slow Hearts wraps up the package with a deep offering that greatly compliments the duo's musical direction. 
Having met at design college in 2001, Alvaro and Delmar hold a longstanding dedication to the underground house music scene.

Save Us Records proclaim their fifth release, with a three track EP by Affect!. Comprising of one original and two remixes, one each from Nick Devon and Kris Davis, ‘Akaria” upholds the quality of music that has now become synonymous with the label.
‘Akaria’ is the type of track that allows your mind to wander and never return. The sound is wholesome and seductive, with its dubbed chugging bass line and subtle breakdowns, which all flow effortlessly amongst a cascade of melodies and synth chords. 
Nick Devon hits things a little harder for his remix of ‘Akaria’. The synth chords are racier and the bass line is much tougher, creating a tension that is both electric and formidable. The full brunt of this remix however, sits with its dark percussive intricacies, which are layered seamlessly into Nick’s signature sound.
The final remix on the EP comes from Kris Davis. Imposing his own imprint upon ‘Akaria’, led Kris to really draw out the extremity of the strings, as well as the relentless nature of the tracks overall vibe. He manages to balance perfectly the melancholy of the original and the darkness within Nick’s remix.

Montreal artist @Kora-musique takes the next steps for recently launched New York label Earthly Delights, an imprint centred on spotlighting talents pushing the boundaries of electronic blends. The Canadian producer and DJ picks up the mantle from Yor Kultura, who provided the labels first release in a three tracker titled 'Odyssey'. Kora comes to the label after the well received 'Nuit D'Afrique' and 'Ovo' on Kindisch in November. He treats Earthly Delights to two original cuts in 'Fragile' and 'Vayu'. The pair have already seen much support  from the likes of Acid Pauli, Hernan Cattaneo, Oliver Schories, as well as heavy rotation on the playa. White Ocean founder Timujin supplies the remix action, reworking his own top notch version of 'Fragile'. Today, we're very excited to present to you in full premiere 'Fragile' in its original mix. This is an incredibly emotive cut, which fuses two distant worlds in one exquisite concoction. Soft pads, beautiful rhythms and a distinct eastern vibe mark the latest footprint in the journey of the young music maker. Release date - January 16th, 2017.

Toronto-based Brazilian Hauy steps up on Lee Burridge's inimitable Get Weird imprint with a lush three tracker in tow. The release, which drops January 20th on digital and shortly after on vinyl (Feb 3rd), features an exquisite electronic blend, which is just as at home on the playa as it is in the club. 'Your Way To Paradise' leads the line, a track you can hear in full premiere on When We Dip today, and it does exactly what it says on the tin. Hauy has assembled a seductive seven minute beauty that rides on a supreme groove. The backdrop is shrouded in an uplifting and hypnotic melange of melodic textures, which come together in the main breakdown around an engrossing crescendo.
