New Music - 2022

The prominent Swedish duo of Elfenberg returns to the label after featuring with the wicked “Kebabsyra”on Rotten Citizens Compilation Vol.4. They've recently released music on labels such as Les Yeux Orange, Feines Tier and Hard Fist. The return to Rotten City will see the light of the long awaited  “Elfenboogie EP”, containing three powerful peak time tracks with all the flavors they like: Acid, Disco and Tribal vibes. 

“Vasta La Hista” is a clear example of a club bomb. Direct, raw, and psychedelic. 100% effective but non generic! 

“Acid Cocoon’” dig into the darker vibes with a spooky and sexy female voice in a “Post-Electroclash” exercise.

With “Elfenboogie” they show us again their favorite elements; Percussion, drive, a soulful vocal and some random weirdness to top it off. "Let's do the Elfenboogie", "Come n Elfenboogie with us”, they always joked around with the term, that now is the title track on this very EP.

The release is complemented with a remix from Julian Sanza & Alvaro Cabana Remix. Both DJs residents at Kaputt Club (Bogotá) joining forces again to turn the Classic Disco vibe of “Elfenboogie” into a trippy and cosmic interpretation.

Following the success of their debut album, 'Eros Anikate', Berlin-based DJ and Producer couple Local Suicide (@localsuicide) return with the first of four remix EPs for their release, each named after an ancient Greek god.

'Eros Anikate - Adonis Remixes' is a 5-track EP featuring two remixes for 'High Buildings w/ Lee Stevens', one for 'Whispering w/Curses', and two remixes for 'Hercules Adonis'. The EP will be released on digital and vinyl formats via their Iptamenos Discos (@iptamenosdiscos) imprint on September 16th, 2022.

The second remix for 'High Buildings' comes from Berlin's own Jennifer Touch (@jennifertouch), who adds arpeggiated acid-like synth sequences and warped vocals for an energetic and driving edit. Touch is known for her unique combination of vintage synths, industrial soundscapes and visceral post-punk snarl. Her music is heavily influenced by her memories and observations of the social climate during her upbringing in East Germany, filtered through a young and naïve mind. After the wall came down, her musical tastes expanded beyond 80s pop, and she embraced the bleak and rough techno of Berlin's burgeoning underground, forming the post-wave, cold-pop acid sound she is known for today.

Eros Anikate - Artemis Remixes

The Barcelona-based Spanish artist Syd dePalma returns to Rotten City with a new track, following his dazzling EP *Blanco Sombra* (RCF040, 2023). *Beneno* delves into existential duality and how, amidst chaos, unexpected clarity can emerge.  

The lyrics explore the feeling of being and not being at the same time—getting lost in confusion yet discovering something valuable in the process. A key phrase captures this idea:  

"Aquí no estoy, no desperté; allí sí estoy y ya bailé"
"Here I am not, I didn’t wake; there I am, and I’ve already danced"  

This line encapsulates themes of transformation and movement, even in darkness. The track strikes a balance between the ethereal and the visceral, blending post-punk elements—profound guitars and heavy basslines—with synthesizers that bring light and an almost hopeful energy. It feels like walking through a dark night, guided by flashes of light. A perfect soundtrack for an intimate setting or for dancing in a club during the early hours of the morning.  

The release is complemented by a remix from Argentinian producer Julian Sanza, based in Bogotá. A resident of Kaputt Club and a member of legendary projects like Silver City, Ciudad Feliz, and 2020 Vision Soundsystem, Sanza transforms the original into a cosmic disco odyssey—a signature style that adds a fully DJ-friendly touch for the dancefloor.

Brazilian producer Niev debuts on Mexican imprint Duro Label with a three-track EP exploring the depths of acid house.

Duro Label proudly announces the release of "Mariokarlos EP," the latest production from Brazilian artist Niev, an emerging force in the electronic scene from Ribeirão Preto who has been making waves in experimental music since 2020.

The EP, consisting of three original tracks, represents a deep dive into acid house territory while maintaining Niev's characteristic essence of blending electronic elements with Brazilian influences. The EP includes the title track "Mariokarlos," followed by "Ciao (Stripped Mix)" and "Wannabe," each exploring different nuances within the genre.

Niev, known for his work with Radio Vitrine and The Last Baba Disco Studios, brings to this release his distinctive musical perspective, shaped between 80's nostalgia and contemporary influences from Russian and Middle Eastern music. His ability to weave traditional and cutting-edge elements is reflected in each of the EP's cuts.

"Mariokarlos EP" marks Niev's debut on Duro Label, solidifying the Mexican imprint's presence in the international house music scene and reinforcing its commitment to innovative sounds and bold proposals.

The EP will be available across all digital platforms from March 7th, 2025.
