LNOE136 marks the debut of critically acclaimed producer Durante on our label. His double-tracker EP immediately grabs your attention with the same intensity and honesty that producer Kevin Durante strives for in his body of work, earlier releasing pieces art on labels like Anjunadeep, W&O Street Tracks and Earthly Delights. Perhaps his Italian roots push the producer/DJ to seek a higher beauty, but with more than a decade of creation, experimentation, and discovery behind him, his personal journey has taught him not to fear honesty. 

The music on this release is balanced beautifully between both tracks, creating a dynamic experience through lush arps and spacious grooves. It’s a pleasure to hear how playfully this US based producer approached these little gems of perception, you can clearly feel the passion and experience that was put into the music. Durante comments; “Sasha is someone's career I admire greatly, and it's an honor to release on his label. Most of the elements in Thread Tension were played/recorded live on my synths which made it a really fun track to work on. I feel Winder is a great compliment to the extensive amount of emotion in Thread Tension, so I'm very happy to be releasing these together.”

Crosstown Rebels’ sub-label Rebellion returns with a fourth instalment of its ongoing SOULS series, with fresh tracks from a selection of exciting, up-and-coming talent.

Curated by label head Damian Lazarus, Rebellion’s excellent SOULS series has always transcended sounds and scenes to dig deep into the most forward-thinking new electronic niches. It has a deeply embedded spiritual theme, like most projects with which Lazarus is associated, and this volume again connects the dots between a number of innovative producers from across the globe.

Belgrade and Mykonos-based duo MĪMĪ x FY open up with ‘Robotic Mode’, linking with Estray for a silky synthlaced house cut that goes deep into a cosmic future. The deft chords, spoken words and sci-fi signifiers enrich the groove perfectly. Brazil's Vini Pistori is next with ‘Hypnotized’, a scintillating fusion of pixelated melodies and bright, starry-eyed chords over a drawn-out and languid groove that is perfect for the late-night hours.

Frequent collaborators MILI and Hoomance then step up with ‘Casa Mama’, a playful cut with a carnival feel thanks to the characterful horns which bounce about over the crisp drums. It's a track full of soul and sunshine that captures the joy of dancing outdoors. Israeli-born DJ and producer OMRI closes things with the rubbery bass and skewed synth futurism of his off-grid percussive masterclass, 'Funk Rhythm.’

Another taste-making statement from the label and Lazarus, Rebellion presents SOULS Vol.4 is loaded with the sounds of tomorrow across another excellently curated package.

Boris Nazarov is a New York-based electronic music producer and former member of the acclaimed Russian electronic collective Moscow Grooves Institute. His work lives at the intersection of studio craft and live improvisation where real-time decisions on hardware become the composition itself. Ambient textures, dub techno pulses, downtempo grooves: all of it shaped in the moment, on the machine. Greek wisdom ripples across Lake Kerkini to recognise "The Rise" of Simos Tagias. Melodic shards resonate through the cool mountain air and jagged rhythmic backdrop juts out among the rocky outcrop. Brilliant sonic colour emanates from Australian gems as GMJ and Matter return to familiar European waters. A bassline firmly anchored in the bedrock provides a foundation for rippling arpeggios and twinkling keys to reverberate across the valley in endless waves.

Argentina mines another successful partnership in the form of EANP. Soaring skywards, "The Rise" hits new heights where familiar patterns are fused into fresh sonic formations that stretch out in pulsating configurations. A newcomer clicks into gear with popping percussive framework as another alley debutant combines innovation with craftsmanship. Organic sounds are sculpted into imaginative electronic waveforms as new melodic sequences and glissando bassline are bent to impressive Australian will via Barbour.
