London-based record label Planetary Notions launches into the unknown next week with their debut release coming from exciting new prospect Joe Rolét. Formed by a group of like-minded individuals, all with a musical background, the label blends the groups passion for bass-laced custom-built club music with a strictly vinyl format.

Today we premiere the lead track from the label's debut EP and 'Green Aid' is a cosmic-house roller, one that infuses house features with bumping builds and epic drops. As far as label launches go, they don't get much bigger and we're sure that Planetary Notions will soon be name you'r all very familiar with.

Dusky's 17 Steps opens 2015 by welcoming its first signed artist to the label in the much-admired London producer Christian Piers. 

One half of Laszlo Dancehall with Leon Vynehall, Christian Piers' 'Beat Wiser EP' follows his recent single on Curle Recordings which has been supported by the likes of DVS1, Âme, Axel Bowman and Jonas Kopp.

A mainstay in Dusky's sets in recent months, the lead track 'Offf' is a monstrous techno drum track rewired with Roland Alpha Juno esque hoovers and sinister atmosphere, 'Offf' has proved a reliable dancefloor detonator on both big festival stages and intimate basements in recent months. 

A refreshing and dark take on classic acid, the EPs title track 'Beat Wiser' balances sharp, surging machine funk 303s with a tribal and organic percussion approach for a unique club tool. 

Closing the diverse EP, 'Onn' again draws on a tribal groove, this time set against looping, hypnotic techno soundscapes.

You most probably know of Nuel from his previous collaborative efforts with Donato Dozzy, or his fantastic LP on Further Records from 2011. Needless to say news of more material from him is welcome news around these parts. This time his powers are served via a remix of Claudio PRC and Ness' 'Icore'. The period of infancy for record labels is often their most definitive. It sets the standard for whats to come, which means there must come a certain degree of quality and precision. Planetary Notions are the London based imprint kicking out divine cosmic techno with just that quality, style and attention to detail needed to launch the label on the path of longevity. The space-themed vinyl-only team had their first release from London-based producer Joe Rolét last April, and just over a year later, the man returns with another slice of rolling tech goodness. Planetary notions 002 kicks off with the galactic Glacier Way and is backed by the deep delight that is Pace Trader. Straight out of the Ukraine comes iO (Mulen) AKA Aleksandr Voznichenko, a man whose back catalogue includes releases on labels such as Rejected, Eklectisch and Area Remote to name but a few. Now he links up with one of Paris’ premier labels, run by one of Paris’ premier crews – Apollonia. With one solid track and a classy remix from Danish young gun Malin Génie, this is another surefire winner from Apollonia. ‘To The Unknown’ kicks things off with a steady build up. Shrouded in a hazy mist it draws you to its understated groove, iO turns in a very considered production that evolves at a slow yet utterly gripping pace. The energy levels rise like the tide of the ocean, engulfing you before you know it. iO’s dexterity and cunning ability to keep the listener engaged manifests itself here, bomb! On the flip side, Malin Genie steps in to give ‘To The Unknown’ a new lick of paint and what we get is a jazzy, minimal rework with a jaunty skip in its step and a wicked bassline.

The Various Artists compilation features nice amazing new tracks that showcase the best house sounds from around the world, with Chicago, Montreal, London and Geneva all represented.

Here we premiere 'Blue Marble', a spaced-out deep cut from Joe Rolét, a producer who hasn't left our radar since we first premiered his music back in 2014.

The London-based producer has released a slew of dubby, other-worldly sounds via Planetary Notions and this is his first venture away from the imprint. Serious movements incoming.
