Madrid-based DJ/producer Argia steps into the Rebellion spotlight for the first time with ‘Don’t Fight’, a dynamic four-track EP set for release on 17th October. Across three solo cuts and a collaborative track with Adana Twins, she delivers a statement release that bridges playful textures with surefire club-ready energy. Resident at Madrid’s iconic Mondo Disko, Argia has shaped a sound that feels both playful and precise, rooted in her classical training yet fully in tune with the dancefloor. Releases on Kompakt, Bedrock, Higher Ground, and TAU have shown her versatility, while her contribution to Keinemusik’s mix series highlighted her ability to connect introspective grooves with peak-time momentum. From Fabric in London to Watergate in Berlin, REX Club in Paris, and tours across South America and Canada, her sets carry a sense of narrative and emotion that continues to win her a growing global audience. With ‘Don’t Fight’, she turns that perspective inward, channeling spontaneity and inventive production into a collection of tracks designed to tell stories on the dancefloor:

“Don’t Fight EP is all about groove-driven energy and organic textures. I wanted to make it fun; playful music built around samples that tell a bunch of little stories on the dancefloor. I wanted each track to feel alive; ‘Don’t Fight’ with its powerful drums, ‘Tulips’ with its sexy vocals, ‘Yo Quiero’ and its mental synthesis work, and the cherry on top collaboration with Adana Twins ‘Turn Around’ that makes you travel in time. There’s a sense of spontaneity throughout, like capturing a moment that wasn’t planned but just felt right. I’ve been digging deep into sample work lately—reshaping sounds until they become something unexpected. Rebellion felt like the perfect home for this release: open-minded, rhythm-focused, and always connected to the dancefloor.” – Argia. The EP closes with ‘Turn Around’, the first-ever collaboration between Argia and Hamburg duo Adana Twins, whose own Rebellion debut comes as part of the release. Premier: Temple Tears - Addiction [Kiosk ID]

Almost exactly three years after NR&, a project uniting &ME’s and Rampa’s production with the voice of New York Disco-House-siren Nomi, dropped their debut EP, we finally can announce a new chapter in this ongoing transatlantic menage. This very “Spoken For” EP is comprised of two new tracks, that again fuse songwriting with floor-demands and showcase the same crackling and pulse quickening passion that instantly has become NR&’s trademark. So here’s the evidence – a long distance relationship is not necessarily doomed to get boring after a while.

“Taste Like” on A might be conceived as the club-affair of those two new joints. A tune indulging in self-control, extending the pre- eruptive moment of excitement to track length. There is Nomi’s unmistakeable sexed up oration, flanked by an affirmative thunderstorm of claps, then a bass heavy bridge, overflowing into a noise brushed finale. Altogether a tasty flavour carrier for an effective floor heating.
“Spoken For” is not only the title track, but also the hymn coming out of the flipside ambush. There is no kick necessary to underpin what Nomi’s charismatic croon is laying down. Therefore a wise choice to let the arrangement of interspersed field recordings, percussive details and piano- and synth-decoration exercise in unobtrusiveness. Safe to say, this tune will refine many future peaktimes anyway.

Canadian label My Favorite Robot Records looks across the pond to Italy for one of its early 2016 EPs.
The act behind the three excellent track release is Speaking Minds, a duo that released on the label back in 2014 and have also put out music on Aeon Records. Simone Sinatti and Marco Paladin have very quickly won fans and acclaim around the world with their inspired and passionate DJ sets and artful take on club music. Here they prove that once more with richly crafted synths and expansive grooves aplenty.
The perfectly seductive 'Marathon' opens up the EP with the sort of moods and groove that would be perfect for a long late night drive. Neon synth lines snake along above a rooted rubber groove and grow more wild as thing unfold. It is the sort of hypnotic offering that really takes command of a dancefloor and never lets up.
A dub mix of the same cut is even more driven, some of the synth drones are stripped back and it is a more cerebral, spaced out techno roller as a result.
The third offering, 'The Last Step,' is another deep space affair with gorgeously designed pads circling round a spacious groove. It is a vast and atmospheric track that really transports you to another galaxy far, far way with its rainy melodies, moody drum kicks and arcing sense of narrative.
This is spine tingling, sensitive music that is epic and emotive in all the right ways.
