"This was my second year in a row playing at The Cityfox Odyssey in which the first year I played was in the downtempo/ambient room.  When I wasn't djing at the event on New Years 2018 I was spending the majority of my time in Gunita's Tavern. So when New Years Eve 2019 came around I naturally wanted to be part of the Gunita's Tavern because of it's really heady vibe and underground feel that was a nice departure from the large rave it was a part of. It was also a place where you could unwind from the large crowds and the odds were better that you would run into a friend or more to have a good conversation while enjoying a drink. 

Rave culture had a lot of momentum coming into 2020 with optimism and excitement that had been building for most of that decade which resulted in more festivals and events due to popular demand. So ending the decade and bringing in a new one at The Cityfox Odyssey because Cityfox had been producing top notch events during this time period was special. I played during New Years day from 6-8pm while Jamie Jones and then Ame & Dixon were playing in the main room so the vibe was thick in the building. The crowd was in prime time form and they brought the energy that was the catalyst for my set. I instantly felt comfortable in the surroundings as a result and spent most of my time after my set in the tavern soaking up the vibes from the dj's sets that played after me. I stayed until the end in the tavern like I did the year before to conclude another memorable New Years day at Gunita's Tavern at The Cityfox Odyssey."

Moving through a range of deep, soul-enriching music, Lizz creates a soundscape that moves from etheric to tribal - from Heaven to Earth and the journey in between. Select Cuts 143: WhoMadeWho

Italian star Luca Bacchetti has been making music since the mid-2000s, and first hit Beatport’s charts in 2006 with his energetic remix of Bini & Martini’s ‘Stop’. With a few more EPs under his belt, he founded ENDLESS in 2012. Since then, the label has released tracked by artists like Eagles & Butterflies, Cosmic Cowboys, and Alix Alvarez.

In this mix, you'll wander through ambient, hypnotic sounds for a trippy listen from beginning to end. Fascinating polyrhythms build to a 4-4 bounce featuring, among other things, distorted guitar melodies meandering over the beat. Middle Eastern influences pepper the unique mix, from minor chord progressions to samples of Arabic vocal melodies and instruments.

These days, Bacchetti has 33 releases to boast of, and he’s about to add some more. His 13-song album ‘Secret World’ will be released on ENDLESS in October 2019. ‘Secret World’ is a real journey into his universe, up to now never completely revealed. This year is also the most prolific of his career, comprising several remixes, two new EPs including the upcoming ‘Disco Blast’ on the Japanese Endless Flight/Mule label.

His thoughtful mixes and studio releases make us so excited to have Luca return to Avant Gardner to play Morgana (November 2019.)
