Alvin Aronson is a DJ and producer based in Brooklyn, NYC. His music is focused on the deeper traits of ambient house and techno, similar to the likes of Kassem Mosse and the Workshop Records catalogue. Despite not having any current releases, we were so impressed with what we heard on his Soundcloud page, we immediately asked Alvin to record a mix of unreleased original material and collaborations recorded in his studio over the past year. In the interview we discuss his interest in electronic music as well as his involvement in New York's electronic music community.

Sawlin and Subjected are a production duo from Berlin. Since meeting in 2006 courtesy of fellow producer Mørbeck, they have released definitive techno 12"s on Subjected's self-run imprint Vault Series. As a solo producer Sawlin has also released music on Delsin's sub label Ann Aimee and French label Technorama.

With such a strong heritage and stable of releases we caught up with the duo to discuss their affair with techno and reasons for starting up their own record label. The mix was recorded at Subjected's studio in Berlin and is 100% live. Sawlin used Ableton, an APC and an iPad, whilst Subjected used Traktor Pro with a Native Instruments Maschine to generate something completely new for us.

We last spoke to Killawatt back in June 2012, since then he's graduated from University, written a thesis on the effects of sub-bass and vibrations on the human brain and body, released numerous singles and EP’s and has also signed with Audio/Visual crossover agency Derelicht. Killawatt has also also dramatically shifted his attention from dubstep to techno. His mix features 100% of new music from Killawatt, produced over the past 6 months.

Francisco Lezaun Lopez (aka Fran Lezaun) es un DJ y productor de 23 años nacido en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Su incursión en la música electrónica comenzó a los 16 cuando aprendió a mezclar gracias a la pasión que tenía por este género. Un tiempo más tarde, se adentró en el campo de la producción yendo a varios cursos y tomando clases con tutores como Brian Gros. Con tiempo y dedicación lanzó su primer track a los 18 años en Ballroom Records (Alemania). Se fue declinando por los sonidos oscuros, profundos grooveros y melancólicas melodías, con las cuales se siente más identificado en estos días. 

Ha llegado a sacar música en sellos como Xelima Records, Running Clouds, Desert Hearts Black, el ya mencionado Ballroom Records, entre otros. Sus producciones sonaron en míticos clubes como Sisyphos (Berlin), Under Club (Buenos Aires), Crobar (Buenos aires) y más. También ha llegado a tener el support de grandes artistas como Alarico, Chlär, Lars Huismann, SAMA, Marrøn, Josefina Muñoz, Fiama Molina y más. En su faceta como DJ ha llegado a tocar en clubes como Crobar Studio, Blow Lado B y en varias fiestas privadas.

FUSION present: Fran Lezaun podcast

Fran Lezaun is a 24-year-old DJ and producer born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His foray into electronic music began at the age of 16 when he learned to mix thanks to his passion for the genre. Later on, he delved into the world of production and by the age of 18, he released his first track on Ballroom Records (Germany). His sound is characterized by dark, eerie, distorted tones, with deep grooves and melancholic melodies with which he feels most identified.

He has released music on labels such as Planet Rhythm, Xelima Records, Arhythmic Records, CO-EV Records, Algumritmo Records, Found in My Dreams, among many others. His productions have been supported by artists such as Perc, Charlotte De Witte, Chlär, Pan-Pot, Nicolas Vogler, Ramon Tapia, Josefina Muñoz, Fiama Molina, Milena Adamis, and many more. Additionally, his music has been played in legendary clubs such as Tresor, Sisyphos (Berlin), Under Club (Buenos Aires), Crobar (Buenos Aires), and more. As a DJ, he has performed at notable venues like Studio Crobar, Blow Lado B, and Ohito. He is currently signed with "34 agencia," which handles his bookings.

Commemorating our 100th mix and 5 years of Inverted Audio we’re proud to present the first of a new series of specially recorded 100% live performances called IA Sessions. In February we met up with Swedish electronic techno producer Dungeon Acid in London and invited him down to the Radiumphonic lab to perform a completely one off live analog techno performance for us only. We recorded the audio and took some photos for you to see what happened.

KRAKE 2013 > www.inverted-audio.com/krake-festival-2013

Krake is a week long festival of experimental electronic music in Berlin that takes place between 5th - 10th August 2013 in a variety of venues that include Passionskirche chapel, Berghain Kantine and Suicide Circus. The festival is curated by Killekill Records and 2013 marks the fourth edition of the festival.

In 2012 Krake Festival showcased an impecable lineup of pioneering electronic musicians that included Murcof, Perc, Lucy, Dadub, Ulrich Schnauss, Pole, Alex Smoke, Tim Exile, Ceephax Acid Crew and Lakker. 2013 highlights include Cristian Vogel, Monolake, Untold, Dopplereffekt and Nathan Fake perform at Krake.

Inverted Audio have partnered with Krake to present a series of live sets that were recorded last year at Krake Festival. Perc aka Alistair Wells, DJ, producer and label owner of Perc Trax begins the series with an extremely rare live ambient set. He performed this at Berghain Kantine after Dadub's performance. The recording contains new tracks and remixes of older tracks by Perc. "Some tracks were purely elements in my laptop and others were a mixture of laptop audio and live improvised electronics."

In the interview we discuss Perc's involvement and experience of Krake Festival and how his own record label Perc Trax is progressing.
