Who are you?
I’m Chloe Janicki – daughter to Mark and Anne, [pet] mom to Phoebe and Tokyo. I’m French Canadian, born in Ajax and raised in Ottawa – I left home when I was 18 to pursue a career in music and so far, that ambition has taken me to Toronto, Amsterdam, Berlin, and more, with intermittent stints living in Ibiza, the UK, and Los Angeles. I’ve had the pleasure of spinning and working in these places – but my true passion is working behind the scenes with artists to help give them space to develop and succeed in their truest artistic form.

Where are you taking us with this mix?
This mix was recorded in one of my favourite places in Toronto to spin – Vertigo. It’s a dark and sexy afterhours and I had the pleasure to be one of the regular DJs there back when it started in 2018. Coming back to it is always a pleasure. This specific mix is a bit of warm-up journey, starting slow and housey with intermittent builds and spicy acapella hits

Why do you do this?
I do it because I love it - there’s quite literally nothing else I would rather do.

Some artists shape their sound around the city. Others shape the city around their sound.

@Lion-Bakman aka LAB93.EXE has been steadily carving out a corner of Berlin’s underground over the last decade—on his own terms. Born in Ukraine and raised between skateboard culture and vinyl archive, his musical foundation is as tactile as it is timeless. He’s not just a selector—he’s a converter, a curator, and the driving force behind @TheGatheringBerlin , a nomadic party and residency known for its deeply heady programming and warm, transportive atmospheres.

Launched in Berlin with early lineups that featured the likes of Desyn, XDB, and Dan Curtin, The Gathering quickly earned a reputation for spotlighting artists who favor depth over hype. What began with statement residencies aboard Hoppetosse evolved into a full-fledged institution, later taking form inside the legendary Watergate club. Along the way, Bakman has welcomed some of our favorite heavy hitters—Craig Richards, Anthony Rother, Evan Baggs, Andrey Pushkarev, ATEQ, and many more purveyors of refined taste. The energy remains the same—intimate, focused, and deeply musical.

As part of his evolution as an artist, LAB93.EXE dives further into cybernetic terrains—where analog machinery meets digital distortion in extended explorations of hypnotic techno and experimental minimal. He’s not chasing trends—he’s documenting a sound, moment by moment.

For over a decade, the New York–based photographer and DJ @jamie-adam-rosenberg has been embedded in nightlife, capturing its shifts with an eye trained on emotion, energy, and the in-between. His photography goes beyond documentation—it’s visual storytelling rooted in trust. You can feel it in the details: the light grazing a jawline mid-laugh, the focus in a dancer’s expression just before the drop. His images don’t chase hype—they hold space.

That same intuition guides his DJ sets. Built from years spent listening—on and off the floor—Jamie’s sound is fluid. It drifts between tempos and moods, drawing from the many places and parties he’s moved through around the world. His approach is less about genre and more about emotional pacing: “You spend long enough watching people move,” he says, “you start to understand how to move them.”

But beyond the creative work, Jamie has become a voice for something equally vital: recognition. In a recent post, he reflected on what it means to be a freelance creator in music and nightlife. “Credit isn’t guaranteed, but it should be,” he wrote. “It goes a long way when budgets are tight, but the person who captures the content posted gets tagged and credited. A community that’s united creatively works better in the overall sense of productivity.”

That balance—between art and advocacy—is at the heart of what Jamie brings to this culture. He’s not just contributing to the scene; he’s helping protect the people in it.

WhereAmi? 007 - Jamie Jar

Some artists aren’t loud about what they do. No hype, no heavy branding—just steady work, strong records, and an ear that’s dialed in. @boss-priester is one of them.

Based in The Hague, he’s quietly built a sound rooted in minimal, house, and techno—clean, groovy, and full of restraint. Releases on What NxT, Dark Side of the Sun, and Interweaved have earned support from heads like Enzo Siragusa and Dungeon Meat, but his focus stays on the craft.

With a background in Music Technology from Utrecht, Boss has a thing for analog gear and subtle swing. It’s never flashy—just dialed in.

We linked during the lockdown haze on Brawther’s Discord, then met in Berlin and hit the studio. Since then, we’ve kept orbiting each other.

This live set was recorded opening Loveland van Oranje 2024. Boss wrote new material just for it—stripped-back, deep, and intentional. It’s a rare, more vulnerable side of his sound. One of three gigs that day, with his dad riding along.

No big statements—just presence. Let it unfold.

Some artists you connect with before you ever meet them. A mix from a homie in Buenos Aires led me to a Gustavo Cerati remix I couldn’t get out of my head. Had to find out who was behind it. That search brought me to @Furz and I’ve been tapped into his work ever since.

Nunca nos vimos en persona, pero así es esta cultura. La música conecta mucho antes de que la vida real se cruce. In English, we’ve never met in person…but that’s how this culture moves. Music makes the connection long before real life ever does.

Furz is one of the most eclectic voices coming out of Argentina right now. His sets are raw, hardware-driven journeys that move between house and electro, deeply rooted in Latin rhythms and the energy of early rave culture. There’s a steady continuity in what he does - empathetic, introspective, and completely locked in.

For episode 009, He shared something personal:
“The cat in the drawing passed away earlier this year. He was with me in the studio through most of my productions these last two years. This is a small tribute to a true companion who still walks beside me.”

There’s no formula here, just emotion, memory and rhythm stretched across machines... and from Bariloche, algo muy real.

Salvatore Ficara isn’t a DJ. He’s the pulse behind one of Italy’s most respected underground collectives: Outcast Torino. A founder, a connector, a believer in music that speaks before it shouts. 

Since 2013, he’s been carving out space for community on his own terms. No fluff, no hype, no compromise. 

Born in San Luca, rooted in Turin, Salvatore built Outcast from the margins we all strive to start with, that DIY spirit, vinyl love, and a taste that never chases trends. What started as a pushback against the same old bookings has evolved into a full movement: a label, a festival, a crew, and a global family stretching from corner to corner of the globe.

Amsterdam’s underground has a way of pulling new artists to the surface, not with noise, but with a quiet, magnetic certainty. @djcheryllrs is one of those artists. Emerging quickly yet intentionally through amsterdam’s scene, she’s carved a path between the city’s pillars, from Shelter’s dark pulse to the infamous Bret’s sunlit haze, and sets sailing further out as far as the Albanian shores of UNUM Festival.

Her sound and style boogies between minimal’s hypnotic repetition and house music’s warm, human groove …rolling, dubby, flecked with breakbeats, sometimes dissolving into deeper waters, other times flirting with the raw edge of garage.

For Episode 011, Cheryl drifts further still, It’s a deeper, more immersive side of her sound, built for tracing that feeling back to where it began. tracing a memory back from when we met at berghain on CSD with a mutual homie. From first chat it was nothing but good times and good energy, she says It’s a special memory since it was the first time that she experienced the Berlin music scene and we shared this together. The power of Music connected us & blossomed our friendship.

@DjAstrobee brings the Batumi sound into 012. A city outside the capital, outside the spotlight, yet shaping one of the deepest and most swingin pressure currents in Georgia. The underground there carries its own mystique, a tension between coastline stillness and late night intensity, something you feel before you can explain.

A member of TES and VODKAST, he is known for deep and hypnotic house and techno with a spooky acid driven touch. His releases on Avoidant under Soma Records, Phyzikal and Bunker Bliss sketch out the borders of his sonic world.

Earning his sonic stripes in the triangle of sound, from Bassiani in Tbilisi to Reflector in Kutaisi and Harbor in Batumi, he moves through these coordinates with intention, but the gravity always returns to the coast.

I found his signal while digging, before the name, before the story. Pure instinct.

Some chapters in this series begin with a simple exchange that shifts everything. A small signal traveling through the underground, carried by curiosity, respect, and the instinct to connect. This one started the moment Rupert Ellis reached out, not with noise, but with intention. A ripple that moved quietly, then widened, revealing an artist already aligned with the frequency of this project.

Rupert is part of a wave shaped by precision and patience. His sound carries the soft swing of London’s late hours, the kind of groove that unfolds through subtle choices rather than force. Clean percussion. Warm depth. Movement that feels guided rather than pushed. You hear his discipline in the way each pattern breathes. You feel his world in the pockets he chooses to open.

" I’m a London based DJ and producer. My sound gravitates toward high-energy club music, but there’s a deeper, slightly darker side that often comes through in my sets and in the records I dig for. I’m also the co-founder of Circa Groove, a label that has been running for five years.

I try not to overthink my mixes, but I always aim to be honest and try to showcase my diversity as an artist. That can mean weaving in some vinyl gems that sit on the more ‘underground’ end of my taste, right through to my own productions that lean toward a more ‘hands up festival’ feel. I like to start slow, build gradually, and keep the mix evolving throughout."

This kind of presence isn’t learned overnight. It comes from years in the booth, from listening more than talking, from trusting the dancefloor instead of trying to control it. A true DJ’s DJ. One of the most underrated selectors I know. Brooklyn forged, globally rooted, and operating on a different frequency.

I’ve known her for over a decade, long enough to understand that some DJs don’t need noise around their name to move a room. They just do the work. Quietly. Relentlessly. Correctly.

Japan born and NYC forged since 2006, Haruka has been steadily building something real through gigs, parties, mixes, live sets, collaborations, and years of showing up with intention. No shortcuts. No gimmicks. Just deep commitment to the craft.

She’s technical without being stiff. Emotional without being obvious. One moment you’re deep in electro, techno, house, disco, the next you’re pulled through hip hop or rock with a sense of narrative that only comes from deep listening and lived experience. This is selection as conversation, not performance.

The last time I caught her was at Body and Soul in Brooklyn, one of those rare rooms where the air gets heavy, the sweat becomes communal, and the energy locks in so tight you forget time exists. Those moments are earned. She owns them.

For this mix, Haruka opens the door to her ghetto tech universe. Raw, physical, playful, and unapologetic. Fast moving pressure, machine funk, and sweat soaked rhythms, threaded with breaks, juke, and electro, all locked together with her signature control and restraint. Reckless in spirit, disciplined in execution, and deeply rooted in dancefloor knowledge.

With long standing ties to spaces like Bossa Nova Civic Club, Nowadays, Elsewhere, Mood Ring, and legendary runs at BOUND and Fourth World, she has quietly staked her place as one of Brooklyn’s most versatile and seasoned selectors. Still somehow underrated. Still moving rooms harder than most.

This episode is about honoring a rare breed. A selector who plays from instinct, history, and trust in the dancefloor.
