Laid Back Stacks reflects my most natural listening state. Stripped of guests, post production, and performance theatrics, the series prioritizes flow over precision, patience over control, and long form musical intuition over spectacle. Imperfections and unexpected turns are left untouched, treated as essential moments rather than mistakes.

Built around trust, sequencing, and real time decision making, LBS is my vinyl only mix series I record in a single, uninterrupted pass from a physical stack of records from my collection. Each episode unfolds exactly as the records are randomly selected and stacked. No rearranging, no edits, no second takes. What you hear is dictated entirely by the stack itself.

Operating as an extension of a broader creative universe I’m building, the series invites listeners into the quiet space where records are discovered and rediscovered in real time. It captures the intimacy of private listening while translating it into a shared experience rooted in curiosity, restraint, and trust in selection.

Released monthly, LBS is designed as a slow evolving archive rather than a momentary statement. Whether encountered intentionally or by chance, it’s an open invitation to step inside my process, follow the sequence, and let the stack reveal its own path.

Who are you?
I’m Chloe Janicki – daughter to Mark and Anne, [pet] mom to Phoebe and Tokyo. I’m French Canadian, born in Ajax and raised in Ottawa – I left home when I was 18 to pursue a career in music and so far, that ambition has taken me to Toronto, Amsterdam, Berlin, and more, with intermittent stints living in Ibiza, the UK, and Los Angeles. This mix was recorded in one of my favourite places in Toronto to spin – Vertigo. It’s a dark and sexy afterhours and I had the pleasure to be one of the regular DJs there back when it started in 2018. Coming back to it is always a pleasure. This specific mix is a bit of warm-up journey, starting slow and housey with intermittent builds and spicy acapella hits
