This week is very special as the Sugar Land Baptist Church Choir from Houston, Texas visited us at Springwell.  42 choir members along with their leader Clint Kimmel led worship. One of their ministers, Rev Dr. Taylor Sandlin, Taylor brought us a message on The Great Commission from Matthew 28 v 16 - 20.

We’re living in an increasingly secular culture. Yet there is still within every soul a desire to connect with something bigger. Often the most  odd things!
They go looking, yet Jesus’ final words were not about worship but mission. He wants the people of every nation in the world to know about him. and it’s our job to tell them
All people need to know the love of Jesus, even to the ends of the earth.
We know God’s power when we step out of our comfort zone and spread the Good news to our neighbours, whether next door or far away. 
The Great Commission isn’t  about ‘doing church’  and waiting for people to come in. We have to go out, and we are enriched as we do. He is with us always.

We are encouraged  to pray as  I Timothy 2  v 1 - 3 teaches us

1. Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.

Whetstone Baptist Church is a community of faith in South Leicestershire, UK, who live to glorify God through Jesus Christ in worship, making disciples, loving one another, and serving the community.
