Farewell to Coal and Ice incorporates field recordings we made during an exploratory trip to the abandoned Russian coal mining town of Pyramiden, Svalbard with Chris and his wife, Anne, in 2017.

Whilom's music is spacious and cinematic. Sometimes described as eerie, or lofi, a bit darker perhaps, and at times slightly grubby or broken. 

Listen out for voices in my tracks of long gone relatives from old tapes made by relatives in the distant past.
