This is great! I wish I were disciplined enough to write this well.

Meditative, hypnotic, and a restless pendulum of movement. The bass line gives both stability and unpredictable drive.

The beginning of this song is the Gayatri Mantra - a sanskrit chant that basically means "you are the source, please illuminate my heart".  It's a prayer for enlightenment and is chanted by millions of people daily, usually I think at sunrise and sunset.
One evening, at a period in my life when I was burnt out and desperate, I was in that place when I was too tired to sleep and too tired to do anything else.  I decided that playing guitar would make me feel better.  I chanted the gayatri mantra for about 20 mins and then a thought occurred to me - if the source could illuminate my mind in plain english that I could understand what would it say?
The english words in the song are the answer that I received.
I'm so glad this song resonates for so many people, it just shows me our hearts are all the same...

S Time Etude

After a long break from uploads, to focus on other things its time i get back in the sharing seat and get this latest ecstatic dance set from my Last E.D UK

So here it is. Im very happy with this one! Weaving all my favourite genres together to create a whole-stylistic and complete journey for you to enjoy.

This 1 is called Bumpy Road, to reflect the bumpy-ass road ive had from the end of last year to the beginning of this 1, and i know im not alone! So whatever your going through, just know your not alone, and as we traverse this crazy thing called life together, as the roads bumps you down, know it will always bump you back up eventually. So stay strong and keep moving. I believe in you!!

Ecstatic Dance U.k - Bumpy Road

Moments in a Blurred City is the first of four pieces for solo piano titled 'Moments'. As an ethnically Indian composer who was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to parents hailing from culturally different cities in India, grew up in Singapore and studied in Boston, USA, my identity, and what I call home has always been a bit of a blur - a mixture of mismatched memories.

This piece grew out of improvisation - a way I felt I could be the most true to myself - by not attempting to place any particular cultural idioms in my music - as I felt that it would always feel forced until I can finally understand my own identity. However, at the same time, free improvisation doesn't mean that I was completely out of reach of preexisting musical notions. A semblance to my love of progressive metal and Djent can be observed in the rhythms and melodies in this piece.

The piece uses a symmetrical structure, with an initial, dreamy theme followed by a fast blur depicting someone beginning a day dream. This leads us to short fragments that at times may feel complete and at others may feel the need for further development. However, regardless of their interpretation, they never get developed, only repeated, until the blur brings us back to the end of the dream - the sudden spark of reality quickly concluding the piece, leaving a sense of unfinished longing to return back to the dream.

Tom Waits (on Jim Wilson): "Wilson, he's always playing with time. I heard a recording recently of crickets slowed way down. It sounds like a choir, it sounds like angel music. Something sparkling, celestial with full harmony and bass parts - you wouldn't believe it. It's like a sweeping chorus of heaven, and it's just slowed down, they didn't manipulate the tape at all. So I think when Wilson slows people down, it gives you a chance to watch them moving through space. And there's something to be said for slowing down the world."

This piece starts off with an unrelated motif depicting a lady at the edge of the Tembusu Forest, drawn by its mysterious aura. As she steps deeper into the forest, many eyes watch her, scrambling to find her way out. She slows down, finally realising she would never be able to escape this enchanted forest.

Cades Cove Coyotes

Lone male howling in the middle of the night to attract a mate. Sounds so sad and mournful, yet this is his "love song," and his state of mind might very well be positive and hopeful, perhaps even ecstatic.

Gray Wolf - Three Group Howls

This piece is loosely based on a korvai that BC Manjunath taught in the 2020 International Rhythm Course. The left hand is consistently a 5-beat pattern, while the right hand is doing its own thing. 

The tuning is The Janus Scale, the same 11-limit tuning from Paul Johnson that I used for my last piece, Floating, but this piece is centered a tritone away on B-flat instead of E. Since it's called The Janus Scale, I wanted to write a contrasting piece to pair with Floating. 

During this pandemic, I've been very fortunate to be able to study with teachers like BC Manjunath, Jacob Adler, Michael Harrison, and Ned McGowan, who all encourage their students to explore. I wrote this piece as a final project for Jacob Adler's microtonality crash course, and also in preparation for taking part in the continuation of the International Rhythm Course.
