In the Fall of 2008, two college Freshmen met in a dingy, crowded dorm room and each found the other's love of music in tune with his own. Jarod Soltis, a piano major, and T.C. Cox, a film major, discovered similar musical interests ranging from Breaking Benjamin to Lady Gaga to Beethoven.

With Soltis on piano and guitar, and Cox on drums and percussion, the pair wrote furiously to discover their perfect sound. After solidifying a foundation, the pair one day brought in Soltis' brother, Austin DeRose. HIs guitar skills and backing vocals meshed so well that he was instantly brought in as a member.

The trio began to write, play, and network under the name Ninewire, but after some sound progress the band was required to take a brief hiatus at the end of 2012. After a period of growth, the band then regrouped in a new-found and refreshed love for the artistry of music. 

Late in 2012, it was suggested that Chad Simpson, a long time friend of Cox's, be brought in for a friendly jam. Again, a new member was instantly found, and Simpson was the perfect fourth leg for the band's dynamic.

The band is currently thriving with all four members:

Jarod Soltis is a classically trained pianist of 13 years, but his passion for music drives his ability to play nearly any instrument he desires. He focuses on piano, bass, and guitar, and is the group's primary vocalist and songwriter. 

Austin DeRose has been playing guitar for nearly two decades. Between acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, and vocals, DeRose is an integral part of the band. 

T.C. Cox, a drummer of twelve years, performs as the group's drummer and percussionist. He also has a recently discovered love for the mandolin.

Chad Simpson has been playing guitar for 7 years. A fierce lover of music, Chad brings a whole new vitality to the group's sound and has played with a plethora of local musicians.

WHITEFOREST is currently booking shows all over the Southeast and recording new music.
