"help me forget" is one of my favourite songs, which was inspired by how I felt through changes in my life and relationships. This song was inspired by a wanting for something that lasts, whether that be a friendship, a home, or a dream. This song was written in a period of my life where I was prone to suppressing my feelings, and coped by trying to forget and ignore everything I was struggling with. "help me forget" was also one of my favourite songs to produce, as I incorporated a speeding tempo change, to play on the metaphor of "running away", and how I felt that my life was moving very quickly, and I was trying to catch up to it. In this song, I also talk about my desire for control, when I faced times where my life felt unstable.

"fallen Angels" was born from my own experiences of losing people in my life - friendships torn apart by rumours and the drama that comes with high school. This song was inspired by the struggles and pain that so many of us, especially young people, face on a daily basis. It speaks to the experience of feeling broken and lost, as though we are fallen angels, weighed down struggles such as insecurities, bullying, lost friendships, heartbreak, and the desperate desire to be someone else. However, for this song, instead of letting this pain define us in sadness, the song is a rallying cry - a reminder that we have the power to transform that hurt into something powerful. "fallen Angels" embraces the pain, and how strong we are for surviving it. The anthem calls on us to embrace our strength, to rise up from the darkness, and to turn our struggles into a message of hope and resilience. The pain doesn’t need to remain a burden; it can fuel our journey toward self-empowerment, reminding us that even the fallen angels have wings to soar once again.

"People Are Watching" came from a place of frustration and feeling invisible, like no matter how loud you speak or how hard you try, nobody’s really paying attention. It’s about seeing people struggle, whether it’s in my own life or in the world, and realizing that everyone’s just standing by, waiting for something to change, but nobody’s saying anything. Writing it meant a lot to me because it’s a way of expressing how frustrating it is to feel like you're screaming into the void, hoping someone notices, but no one’s reaching out. It matters to me because I know so many people feel this way, like their struggles are going unnoticed.

"Party Blues" was inspired by those times when life feels overwhelming, and all you want to do is lose yourself in music. I’ve been there, using music as a way to drown out everything else – just getting lost in the rhythm and energy so I don’t have to face my problems. It’s like when you turn the volume up so high that it drowns out all the noise in your head. The song is about how music can be this powerful escape, but also how it can leave you feeling empty when the beats stop and you’re left with yourself again. It feels so personal to me, but it's something I think a lot of people can relate to.

I wrote "American Dream" as a reflection of the deep struggles I faced struggling with an eating disorder. The song captures the overwhelming pressure to fit into a narrow standard of beauty, a standard that made me constantly question my own worth and how I saw myself. The American Dream represents the distorted version of perfection that I felt I had to chase, even at the cost of my mental and physical well-being. Writing this song was my way of confronting these painful, confusing feelings and expressing the internal battle of trying to reconcile who I was with who I thought I was supposed to be. It's a personal and vulnerable piece, but one I hope resonates with others who are facing similar struggles, showing them they’re not alone. The American Dream, as I saw it, wasn’t just about achieving wealth or fame, but about the dangerous pursuit of perfection, which led me to lose sight of my own worth, and how to love myself. Writing this song was painful, and I needed to be really vulnerable, but was an act of self-expression, an attempt to speak out, and unravel the lies I had been telling myself for years.
