I have uploaded the recording of my set at Ratherlost last New Years Day to my Soundcloud. My connection with them goes back to the days of Reaktor where i was happy to be a resident for 5 years. In my opinion Ratherlost today is the top promotor when it comes to serious techno in Amsterdam and it was a huge honor to be back with them again. Expect some old, some new and some strange music from the likes of Chlär, OFF / Grid, Cravo, Malin Genie, DisX3, Cari Lekebusch, Joel Mull, Yanamaste, Vilchezz, Pacou, Steve Rachmad among others!

Monnom Black will mark its 17th release with its first various artist compilation presented on triple vinyl. Keeping with the label’s modus operandi, the compilation is packed with iconic, raw and uncompromising techno, featuring 13 artists new and old to the imprint, including a re-release of a classic Drax aka Thomas P. Heckmann track from 1993.

To coincide with the launch of the compilation, Monnom Black will hold its first highly-anticipated label party. Locking arms with the notorious underground Dutch promoters Reaktor, known for their challenging events and pushing the boundaries of what techno has to offer. Together they will celebrate with an electronic onslaught on New Year’s Eve in Amsterdam’s Elementstraat Warehouse. A location cut to the bone that perfectly encapsulates the label and promoters combined vision and ethos.

In run up to our season opening that will take place this Saturday @whoisstranger has recorded the latest addition to our WAS. Series. A few words from the man himself about this podcast:

“This mix contains strictly old-school club stuff, a lot of hiphouse, techno and house from around ‘89 up to ‘92, starting around 120bpm and nothing over 128bpm :) A lot of people seem to think that I only play hard techno stuff but this mix represents the main ingredient for all my DJ sets; club music from the 90s. Enjoy!”

On the flipside, ROD mastermind fates the heavy artillery with “Shut Up And Dance”, a nod to the now defunct and eponymous mythic Rave London label. this is the first version i did of my track 'One Day', originally intended as an anthem-ish album tune for an album that did not come together eventually. later on i did a complete new version that was released on REFLEKT010. this breakbeat / rave version was made around 2015.

His first musical appearance in 2014 was quickly picked up by established names as Dave Clarke, Sven Vath and Marcel Dettmann, giving his career aswell as his own Self Reflektion label a major kick-start. While remaining in the background pushing forward talented artists and working on various projects such as the highly anticipated Paling Trax label, his dj-career is on the rise. His name can be found on the line-ups of some of the biggest clubs and events in techno such as Awakenings, Tresor and many others. This is not your average ‘unknown artist’…
