Fall of civilization

Was ist der essenzielle Kit einer Zivilisation? Die folgende Abhandlung stützt sich auf die These, dass die Kultur den wichtigsten Baustein einer Zivilisation darstellt und darüber hinaus, ihr fortbestehen absichert. Unter Kultur versteht man hier ein vielseitiges- und vielschichtiges System, welches bestimmte Verhaltens- und Benimmregeln, sowie Vorstellungen über Moral dokumentiert und für alle Partizipierenden greifbar macht. Dieses teilweise (nur) implizite Regelwerk sorgt für Sicherheit, Ordnung und Stabilität innerhalb einer Zivilisation. 
Wie es um eine Zivilisation bestellt ist, lässt sich aus der immanenten Kulturqualität ableiten. Werden die vorherrschenden Sitten und Normen beachtet und eingehalten? Fungiert die Kultur als Leitfaden für die Mitglieder der Gesellschaft?
Ein Grund für kulturellen und damit auch zivilisatorischen Niedergang, ist eine Diffusion der Moral- und Wertvorstellungen. Eine hohes Maß an Individualität innerhalb einer Gesellschaft, sorgt, u.a. für eine Pluralisierung der Interessen, Wünsche & Ziele. Damit einher wandelt sich auch häufig die gängige Moral. Aus einem gemeinsam geteilten Konsens, entstehen individuelle Werte & Normen. Nunmehr fehlt eine Basis für  bspw., eine gemeinsame, gesamtgesellschaftliche Zukunftsvision. 
Diese Prozesse der Pluralisierung mag man bewerten wie man möchte. Für den Fortbestand einer Zivilisation ist die Identifikation mit der eigenen Kultur und dessen Moralvorstellungen jedoch essenziell wichtig.

In the way Joseph Campbell united cultures across time and space with his Power of Myth, Australia's Kalya Scintilla celebrates the ancient mythologies that connect humans across all walks of life. Bringing narrative back into the electronic music world, Scintilla's desire is to not only inspire fans with his wildly imaginative soundscapes, but bring an element of performance and storytelling into his live shows and studio work that hearkens back to our primal ancestors sharing their knowledge of the world as they huddled around campfires.

Here's what Eve Olution, Kalya Scintilla's partner in the creation of the Open Ancient Eyes mythology, had to say about the album:

Weaving myth into the fabric of this music, Kalya Scintilla takes this concept album to new heights in offering multi-layered depth and intentional precision on every level. The story begins with a voice calling to us to remember something we have forgotten; as each song begins we find rich tapestries of musical architecture to explore the landscapes from all around the world. Africa, India, Asia, and many more to paint the pictures of something rooted within us from our past all awaiting us to reclaim. Each song playing out like a fragment of ourself spread across the planet as we travel down each one like a pathway leading to a greater knowing. This album invites us into our imagination and asks us to journey inwards towards the calling to enter the temple of our heart and Open Ancient Eyes.

Eve Olution, along with famed digital artist and longtime Tipper collaborator Johnathan Singer, will join Kalya Scintilla the road this fall as he brings this story to life. Dates along the west coast, into the midwest, and down to the southeast over the next few months will allow more fans to find themselves immersed in this new sonic paradigm.

Mindwaves Music is pleased to present Audio Scape, a diverse compilation of various artists curated by the Berlin based DJ duo ChillinBerlin.

This release marks a significant moment, serving as the second compilation assembled by Jus10 and Pat Flanders, whose initial selection, "Mindwaves Plantation" (2008), was the very catalyst that sparked the birth of the Mindwaves Music label. Over a decade later, ChillinBerlin returns to showcase the label's matured soundscape and new artist roster.

This essential sampler is a deep dive into the more cerebral and intricate realms of modern electronic music. It deliberately spans the atmospheric depth of experimental electronica and the complex, fragmented rhythms of IDM, culminating in a selection of tracks affectionately termed braindance.

The ChillinBerlin duo meticulously maps the currents between glitch, melody, and rhythm, showcasing visionary producers who push the boundaries of sound design. The result is a high-fidelity sonic journey designed for inner exploration—a rewarding soundtrack for the mind's eye.

Coming from a deep love of audio in all genres of the musical world my mixes encompass the chaotic energy that is my usual brain and life. I create soundscapes with intricate layering of melodic chords partnered with deep wobbly bass lines, or bouncy funky upbeat danceable journeys, often dissonant but somehow drawing to the ear.

Nearly always incapable of staying in a lane, I craft journeys of sound that lead one from a trance like wonder through to dark swampy atmospheres, filled with elements of emotion and raw instrumental and classical elements. I combine genres, bend the rules and blur the lines between dance and journey.

Slowly building a name amongst the NSW and broader East Coast Australian underground music scene. 

Playing events such as, Dragon Dreaming 24, Esoteric Festival 2024, Basscamp 22 & 23, Subsonic, Sub-Terra, Movement, Tribe Ascension, Airwaves, Origins Of Entropy, Void Of Entropy, plus a plethora of smaller local events and a resident DJ and Core Memebr of Newy Bass Crew performing with them at many events around the Newcastle region.

All of my early work will always remain on the profile, covering the journey I have made in my progression of mixing from terrible talentless beginnings to a very mildy more experienced DJ, with a greater sense of my own unique sound and direction.
