Birmingham duo RUZE have hurtled out of the starting blocks with a slew of quality productions and infectious grooves for labels such as PIV, Elrow, Abode, Etiquette and Rawsome, and their second release of 2022 lands on Ben Rau’s irrepressible META imprint.

The ‘Four Play’ EP finds the pair in fine fettle, delivering three contagious cuts that flaunts the  signature RUZE house sound that’s been receiving support from DJs like Prunk, Chris Stussy, Toman, Josh Butler, Franky Rizardo, Archie Hamilton and many more.

Lead track ‘Four Play’ is boats an undeniably funky bassline that bends around shiny and skippy drums, dropping a lyrically astute vocal and funk stabs for maximum effect.  The musicality of RUZE’s productions continues to shine on ‘Body & Mind’, as another killer b-line is deployed alongside deft piano refrains and New Jersey garage vibes!  ‘Game’ concludes this bustling EP with another serious slab of intoxicating house music.

SI-FI lands first with some gorgeous urban garage vibes, followed swiftly by HATT.D offering an absolutely blissed out deep house cut. Hurlee delivers some driving, hands in the air house business, before Luca Olivotto comes through with pure hands in the air four-four sounds. In at the fifth spot is Guizz providing pounding basslines and synths all underscored with sultry vocal refrains, while Paul Rudder steps things up a notch, supplying a gorgeous, breakbeat infused piano house number. Bress Underground step up with a melancholy and retro tinged stomper of a piece, and DJ LOOKBOOK takes a warehouse-ready '90s house bump, bringing the heat with some re-pitched vocals and rave style synths. Dan T is up next with an exquisite deep house beauty carefully layered with super airy vocal lines, before Sunny Galaxy comes through with a pad heavy tune incorporating a start to finish 80s feel. Finishing off the compilation is Peter LC, bringing things down nicely with a flawless, laid back chunk of deep house.
