Katie Henry is on her way. The New Jersey songwriter might have started out banging on doors, gigging at New York City's blues clubs, and playing piano until her fingers bled. She is winning over the city one show at a time. But lately, the multi-instrumentalist has raced through career milestones at a rocket pace. 

There was her Blues Blast and IBMA-nominated 2018 debut album, High and her international breakout on Ruf's 2022 Blues Caravan Revue.  Resulting in the starburst of media acclaim, including Henry Yates of Classic Rock, NME and The Guardian, who saluted "a runaway talent you need to keep up with." 

Now with Ruf's release of the second album, On My Way, Katie has found another gear. Whether slinging her trusty Gibson SG, hammering the keys, or hollering a storm, these ten original songs, co-written with bassist and slide-guitar maestro Antar Goodwin, announce her as an alchemist who creates gemstones from the base metals of American roots. 

Recorded at Brooklyn's Degraw Sound studio in May 2021, On My Way is the profoundly personal second album on which Katie gives you her beat-up heart.  "A lot of these songs are about letting go," she considers. "And how scary, but ultimately liberating, it can be…."

Like most of our songs, “I Get Stuck” began with Frank hammering out a riff on guitar — a loop that felt like tension itself. River took that skeleton and breathed life into it, weaving the heart and emotion through the lyrics. We built the arrangement to feel frantic — fuzzed guitars, driving rhythm, and a sense of running in circles you can’t escape. The fuzzed-out toy piano became the perfect voice for those twisted memories — a childlike sound warped by time, echoing between the verses and choruses like a ghost you can’t shake. It’s a song about trying to move forward while every step drags you back, equal parts fight and surrender.

What started as a secret side project for a married couple, Frank & River Rabbitte, wht.rbbt.obj has grown into a four piece musical tour de force.

James Van Osdol of "Car Con Carne" described them as "Amy Winehouse meets The Black Keys and challenges them to a game of strip poker." NPR's Greg Kot of "Sound Opinions" in describing their first single "Jolene's Reply," said, "This song swings like a wrecking ball . . . Heavily distorted roadhouse raunch . . . The dirtiest groove I've heard in a long time." And UpToHear Music recently wrote about their latest single, "wht.rbbt.obj will blow everything you own out of Earth's orbit . . . In June of 2022, wht.rbt.obj was selected to perform at The Richmond International Film & Music Festival where they were awarded the "Critics Choice Award for Music and Performance."  In November of 2022, their newest single, "Once More Down The Rabbit Hole" won a songwriting award from USA Songwriting Competition.
