After Sulk Magic’s auspicious debut release, the label returns for its second chapter of left-field cuts. Bird of Paradise curates this one with a similar mind-set to the former; a strong natured collection of tracks which all portray a consciousness of marked ingenuity and a desire to defer from the regular dance-music-model.

Berlin’s Thomas Freudenthal kicks off the record with a portion of hypnotising middle eastern flavoured chug, leading into Kieran Holden’s slow-burning, melodic anthem, ‘3 or 4’.

Exclusive Simple Symmetry 'NAR'

The Lipsky brothers Sergey and Sasha, better known under their DJ and producer alias Simple Symmetry, have celebrated a tremendous rise at an artistical level over the past years – from Moscow's underground (scene) to the world, from an unknown duo to a Disco Halal-mainstay. Now Sasha and his brother Sergey return to the label that introduced them and their music to a wider audience, namely Simply Symmetry have their third coming, after 'Near East Confusion' in 2015 and 'King Solomun's Mine', on Low Budget Family. The duo's latest EP 'NAR', which means 'fire' in Arabic, is finally released. 'Finally' because the 'NAR' has been a secret weapon for almost three years in Simple Symmetry's sets before they decided to release it. 'NAR' itself is an unusual housey track for the Lipskys with a oriental impact that  smoothly entwines the 808 influenced low frequencies and an opposing warmth to the dry-clapping bass line.

Simple Symmetry's EP 'NAR' will be released on Low Budget Family on September 16th, 2019.

Playground attacks again, this time with 3 originals from the Venezuelan, Berlin based, Alejandro Molinari plus 3 remixes by Mijo, Middle Sky Boom and Teniente Castillo featuring Skelesys. An Ep loaded with mysterious voices, rocker beats and dark landscapes.

The Israelite Middle Sky Boom takes 'Kann Dich Heilen' for the first remix of this release. Everything starts with a female voice overdubbing the original voice supported by a pad of percussions. Suddenly the bassline enters alongside acid touches of flying synths. A chorus of voices starts to sing a hypnotic mantra with epic sounds behind. Crazy sounds invades the track, all is madness.

We present the second volume of remixes: Patitos, where to test the album, 14 members pose 15 remixes of the original Patitos, which is a turning point in the corpus of the LP, and they do it by expanding their sound to its limits. "The sound as sculptural matter. More than a descriptive metaphor, such hypothesis is the creative principle of producer Yogev Freiilichman (Jerusalem). In “Air” (ZABRA012), four compositions dissect themselves, exposing an extreme physicality consisting of elasticities and cracks, compact masses and atmospheric torrents that escape as quickly as they appear. Crosswise, motives of the dub heritage are recognized, updated here in the light of other ramifications, from grime to IDM. But, living up to the assumption of a matter vitalism, each theme develops itself in a different way. 

“Hot Air” is a free game of algorithmic parameters that have been left to you. “Cold Air”, more than any other track, explores the atmospheric dimension that crosses the EP. "3inch" houses a spoken word over a touching melodic harmony that soon proves to be temporary. "Dry Air" closes the record with claustrophobic bass and abrasive maneuvers in a dystopian setting.
