Local Suicide announce their long awaited debut album ‘Eros Anikate' which will be released May 13th, 2022 via their own label Iptamenos Discos. The title translates to ‘love invincible’ and draws influence from a play written by Sophocles titled ‘Antigone’.

The album holds true to the duo's ‘technodisco’ sound that the couple has become so well known for and showcases their signature style of blending a retro feeling with a modern twist. In usual Local Suicide fashion, the duo’s debut album showcases tongue in cheek modern-day circumstances, mystical adventures, and moody baselines; all tied up with the promises of happy endings. You can instantly hear that this album comes from the duo’s hearts. Inspired by the travels and experiences they encountered throughout the pandemic, it’s also a love letter to the friends they met during their career - some of which are also featured on the album: Lee Stevens, Curses, The Hidden Cameras, Sissi Rada, Skelesys, Theus Mago, Hard Ton, Kalipo & Greek new wave legend Lena Platonos.

The producer couple has had a stunning amount of press coverage from leading electronic mags like RA, DJ Mag, Mixmag, FAZE, Groove, Ransom Note, TRAX, Time Out, Tsugi, XLR8R & Rolling Stone for their 13 EPs, numerous tracks on compilations and remixes since 2014 on acclaimed labels, while Beatport declared them as one of the key figures in the uprising dark disco scene. They also recently played themselves in Fett & Fett, a series broadcasted on German national TV station ZDF, in which their musical productions were featured extensively as well. Their DJ career has carried them to all four corners of the world, from Europe, Asia and North Africa to South America and the United States, whipping crowds into a frenzy at Lollapalooza, Melt!, ADE, Off Sonar, Festival Forte, Berlin Festival and many more. Their live cuts have been honed to perfection with years of shows alongside the very best in the scene, even being invited by New Order to warm up for their live show in Berlin.

There’s a great sense for taming nostalgia in Lithuanian-born Klimas’ work. Based in Kaunas, real name Rokas Klimas works on setting his signature sound with a great passion for the genres of the past that flourished at the end of the previous century. The production is obviously dipped in Italo,  New Wave, and New Beat more than anything else but also showcases a huge amount of interest for the dancer of modern times through investigations of minimal techno, electro, d’n’b, and dubstep. His allies for getting the more convincing sounds are machines from the USSR era, vintage synthesizers, and other gadgets in the studio. Klimas’ background also includes some action with the Rebel Army group that got its big sound system-ready EP released on Mixmag and VNTGRD labels. 

With his long-term collaborator Tautvydas, Klimas started a label-slash-music-sharing-space in Kaunas called Lempa. As a producer, he promises a lot of stories from the past in the future.

Having already earned plays from the likes of Dixon, Ame, Chaim, and Adana Twins with releases on Ya Hala Ya Hala, Blue Shadow and Tau, Genish finds a natural fit on Multi Culti with his Third Eye EP, a kaleidoscopic triptych emerging out of the evolving sound of Tel Aviv.

Composed of myriad globe-spanning influences, his sound is a fresh, house-y hybrid, imbued with the spirit of trance but restrained in both tempo and arrangement and more ambitious in terms of sonic palette. Featuring a wild mix of Qawwali samples, French-Congolese vocals as well as lyrics from a made-up language, Genish has deployed impressively diverse, character-filled vocal performances and paired them with varied, impactful rhythms, deft melodies, all wrapped-up and reinforced around powerful four-to-the-floor bass-lines. It’s a complete package that is sure to find it’s way to peak moments on dance-floors.

Any Act is a Moscow-based collective, responsible for some radical records and conceptual performances, since their debut self-released protest "Civil Act" EP, dropped in 2019 and heavily praised by Resident Advisor. Trailblazing the club and festival circuit in Russia within PRIVATE PERSONS showcases, Any Act came back to TRAM Planet Records this fall with "Viebe Po Bratski" EP and appeared with "Deti Techno" EP on Lone Romantic, label curated Maceo Plex.

One of their latest shows was broadcasted by STVOL.TV in August 2022. The band presented the title track of TECHNOROCK EP, which we are so psyched about to release on System 108. The guitar player hanging from the ceiling already became a truly iconic image. Now it serves as the cover artwork.

"Look around and take your last breath, the sounds of death are dancing between us", — the 2-track EP opens with Smert (eng. Death). Trancy, filthy synth ode to the underworld. Technorock is destined to set the next level of warehouse rave intensity, just as Any Act are doing it at their live sets. This is techno, this is punk, this is technorock.

System 108 for now takes over this outstanding story. Get ready for more!

In the heart of a Montessori classroom, young minds blossomed. One day, a curious child named Lily was presented with a plate of exotic fruits. Smelling a new flavour in the air, her eyes widened with anticipation. As she bit into a vibrant mango slice, an explosion of sweetness danced on her taste buds. Overwhelmed with joy, she couldn't help but twirl around, arms outstretched.

Her teacher, intrigued, asked, "Why people dance?" Lily paused, her face beaming. "We dance when words aren't enough, to express the magic within us," she whispered. And from that day forward, the classroom embraced dance as a universal language of joy.

Montessori, the project of Alfredo Cardenas, returns to Lithuania-based label Why People Dance with his latest EP  "Smelling a New Flavor." Ruff Stuff teams up with Bress Underground for a long awaited return to SB... a new collection of Deep House tracks of the highest order from these Italian House Heads. Foundations is a steam roller of a track calling on Ruff Stuff’s love for Mr.G, with some tasty French House accents adding a nice funk factor. Sliding Sine makes us wanna go felt pelt on an Autobahn with its rich bass stabs under late night synth echoes with tough drum programming.

Bress Underground comes aboard to collab on the next two tracks and makes his presence felt. The Community is a punchy gospel House cut with crackling vocal samples and trippy chord patterns. "Butterflies can fly at 3000 meters above sea level and use air currents to travel long distances. But on a less cute note, we've also reached a point where there is so much plastic in that air that we actually inhale nano plastics every day, which sticks in our lungs from our clothes."

"Smiling like a rainbow, Burning like an asteroid”   

Clubland is filled with duos, sometimes they grew up sharing bunk beds, sometimes they met on a dancefloor, or sometimes -as with Lord Fascinator & Kate Stein- they met on a tropical island after one had commissioned the other to create several giant monsters for a music video. Fast forward through ten years of costumes, chemicals, religious art projects and "Mad Max yoga retreats", they have finally cemented their relationship in the studio with their Primary EP, 4 tracks of psychedelic synth-pop, cowboy disco and cosmically inclined iridescent electronica.   

Living in LA in 2022, where they found themselves sharing a crumbling castle turret, the EP started to take shape when Kate - the aforementioned monster maker and now up & coming DJ and producer - shared her latest demos with Lord Fascinator. Aided and abetted by both the musical ghosts of Laurel Canyon and a regular supply of caffeine the pair began to craft these demos into an EP that segues from sublime synth pop odes to chemical love and intoxicating attraction through to country disco without missing a beat.   

The EP kicks off with Chemistry, a song whose spacey synth arpeggios wrap themselves around trippy house beats and a bass line that pulses like the heartbeat of a planet. It's a third eye opener of a track, one that kicks down the doors of perception only to find a secret nightclub filled with neon smiles hidden behind and perfectly sets the playful mood for everything that follows. As it happens what follows is the cosmically inclined synth-pop and trance inducing disco of Asteroid. A paean to "falling in love on drugs" Asteroid somehow finds the hitherto unknown sweet spot between Spiritualized and Lipps Inc. and, thanks in no small part to Lord Fascinator's celebratory chorus, blazes like its namesake across the night sky.   

So far, so cosmic. What you may not have been expecting then is country touched club banger Horse House, a track that combines a galloping hypnotic house beat and pulsating synths with all manner of Morricone'esque whistles, lonesome guitar twangs, equine snorts and, of course, the repeated chant that "there's a horse in this house". The track may have started life as a joke but its effect on dancefloors has been anything but and Horse House joins the select ranks of other fine western themed classics that have curiously littered the history of club music.  

Finally, to close out the EP, we have Le Petit Martien, which despite its extraterrestrial title and occasional French lyrics, maintains the western vibes, cantering along at a steady 110bpm. It’s a bit like the impossible love child of say the Bad Seeds’ Red Right Hand, Serge Gainsbourg’s Bonnie and Clyde and one of Todd Terje’s more playful moments, in other words the perfect way for this free spirited EP to ride off into the sunset.

Biography
 Having cut her teeth in the art world working in spatial design Kate Stein made her musical debut in 2021, her hypnotic take on house quickly seeing her make appearances on labels sick as Roam Recordings, Playground Records, TAU and Rotten City.  Lord Fascinator meanwhile began his musical career as the frontman for Australian rock band Children Collide. Since relocating to NY and moving behind the decks he's DJ'd and performed all over the world sharing stages with the likes of The Avalanches and Tame Impala, been remixed by Prins Thomas, collaborated with Simple Symmetry, scored Hollywood films and produced immersive dining experiences in Mexico.

TAMTEN, the master storyteller behind the synthesizers, extends his invitation to every curious listener to ponder the same questions that haunt him throughout his peculiar career: what impacts the sound of an era? How are we shaped by what we hear and see? Do we channel our collective feelings of longing and desire for higher purpose in accord or in opposition to major historical and political forces?

On "Wschodnia Fala: The Reimagined Vision of Eastern-European Wave Music" TAMTEN takes us on a kaleidoscopic voyage through a parallel universe where the symbols and echoes of days gone by are so much more than just archived exhibits of nostalgia. Through an array of meticulous, cut & paste rearrangements, the Warsaw-based artist manages to animate yet another fantastic world of "what could be", following his more apocalyptical take on the previous LP.

There is boldness in every aspect of the release. The saga-like story unfolds evoking the excitement of seashore autobahn ride, thrills of long-forgotten discotheque nights, rush of obsessive romance and intriguing, noir-inspired drama of introspection. The analogies between Polish wave music (with nods to Aya RL, Republika, Klaus Mittfoch, Papa Dance or even Bajm) and global disco-era top chart phenomenons like Kraftwerk, Grace Jones, Giorgio Moroder and Duran Duran, could spark hour-long musicology debates. The melodies and harmonies heard on the album resemble compositions everybody knows but also sound completely new and exhilarating, just as western music clips experienced for the first time behind the Iron Curtain and then collected compulsively on VHS tapes. The feeling of the author's frenetic attempt to capture sensations, memories, artifacts and ideas never escapes the listener till the very last minute of the recording.

"Wschodnia Fala" could pass for an eerie, anonymous late 80s lost-and-found cassette mixtape unearthed on any of the Berlin Wall's sides, if it wasn't for its crystal-clear, contemporary production value and the fluent, educated use of samples ranging from bizarre and opaque to deliberately retro-pop-influenced. Those elaborate winks of the eye for those in the know are already TAMTEN's trademark and they reflect his long-standing fascination with the dancefloor anthropology rather than just the dancefloor itself. Even though never leaning towards formulaic, easy-to-mix, club-ready stompers, his ideas are still groovy enough to make anyone move.

The album strives for some sort of unattainable totality - it’s a ticket to a seance, an experience, a rite. It is a chance to time travel and dance with your ancestors in a glass labyrinth on acid or to watch an 80s teenage adventure, coming-of-age, road cruising film in the cinema of your imagination with only a soundtrack provided. A "the best of" CD compilation of hits from a childhood we remember from a different timeline. A comic book sketch, a diary of an archivist, an elegy for the times that never were and a party you wish you could go to right now. The adventure is always different with another listen.

Step in. Close your eyes. Reimagine.

“No Friends mixes the band’s psychedelic guitar gymnastics with pumping progressive house. Buzzing, fizzing electronics cutting a rug with drones and chopped up fuzzboxed riffs. Warsaw turns into something harder and darker. Jacking, but more techno-edged. Grounded by a growling bass-line, the “rock” now reduced to percussive ringing and serrated siren-like effects. A4 is slower, sinister, sort of industrial, powered by a steam-punk piston pulse. The singer is shredded. The 6-string noise shaken, phased and filtered. Collaged beats get a Balearic indie-rock / dance crossover go-go-not-go-go groove thing going.”

The 5-piece motorik machine that is PÔT-POT first came into my orbit one night at Arroz Estúdios, where we throw the all-nite pleasure machine outings. Bass player Joe, a fellow Leodisian, introduced me to Mark aka mr. pôt-pot, and we spoke lucidly about Can, kraut, and the EP his band had just finished recording, 'Ode to A' - four tracks centered around 'A' single note.

That conversation ended with a firm handshake and a solid commitment that Mark would send over some stems. Some weeks later, I got the parts for 'A4', which became the first remix in a year-long odyssey that fulfilled the basic criteria of what was to become Comandante: an unsteady union between the thrashing tones of rough, ready garage + the dizzying heights of the discotek.

Four raging warehouse parties and three remixes later, COM001 appears; a harmonium drone runs through on stuck keys, spiritual and mourning, rotating synthetic b-line, garage chug, sunglasses at night, bleary-eyed repetition for oscillating dancefloors.

Three deep / hypnotic club burners, calling techno, kraut, prog + motorik sleaze, for when your usual stuff don’t hit the s<pôt>.

A special thanks to Mark, Elaine, Joe, Ollie and Sara of pôt-pot for their swirling take on experimental guitar music, for their late-nite show at Comandante back in September, and for giving free reign to deconstruct their stems into sweet, decadent submission.

Moskalus was born and currently resides in Ostrava, Czech Republic. He started his musical journey back in 2007 when he created his first YouTube channel where he would upload music from various artists to help them promote their music. With his second channel, he started doing music videos because he wanted to be a part of the scene, not only as a regular uploader, but as someone who wanted to express his own feelings. In November 2014, he had his first big break by making the music video for Bambounou's track "Onto This" which was released on 50 Weapons. After that, he gained a greater audience that helped him to work with labels such as: Lobster Theremin, Shall Not Fade, Die Orakel, Pinkman and Lehult. He has also had the opportunity to work with artists such as: Baltra, Fjaak, J. Albert and Benedikt Frey. 

After years of listening to music and making videos for such artists, Moskalus has developed a wide-ranging taste. In his DJ sets you can expect to hear anything from disco to house, techno, UK Garage or dubstep from the golden era.

Stella Z is a London-based composer, and DJ whose music bridges cultural roots with contemporary electronic experimentation. Growing up in a mountainous seaside town in China, she was immersed in Mandarin and Cantonese pop, post-punk, and world music—an eclectic foundation that continues to shape her sound. A rising name in underground music, she was named a Mixmag “Artist to Check Out” in November 2024, selected as a Rhythm Section Future Proof mentee in 2023, and is a resident selector at London’s legendary Jumbi bar.

Her sound is defined by intricate textures, deep atmospheres, and organic sound design, infused with emotive personal storytelling. Feines Tier veteran Johannes Klingebiel introduces Franz Matthews to the family and together they bring us “Ce Moment” EP, a basket of tunes full of colorful harmonies, bouncy grooves and poetic French lyrics. What more could one wish for? The two producers and multi-instrumentalists met some years ago in their chosen hometown Berlin and decided to fuse their producing and multi-instrumentalism game.
The first fruit of this labor was the much-loved and -played “Signs” on Heimlich records, now being followed by this EP here. The title tune is an amalgamation of groovy electric bass riLs, spicy Prophet synth sounds, melancholic vocals and certainly has something of that magic ingredient people call the French Touch. A good tune to pick for House DJs who dig some Disco now and then and for Disco DJs in need of some solid House. “La Traversée” is a crossing (multi-language pun intended) of bazillions of quirky synth sounds and melodies that somehow form a coherent whole, the sum of its part being a light and friendly but not cheesy house tune, that will make the sun go up on any dancefloor. The mighty Kompakt overlord Michael Mayer takes “Ce Moment” under his spell. The result is a grander and more mysterious aLair, made for bigger and darker dancefloors.

The Sound of Cologne™ this is indeed! Parisian up-and-comer Shimon adapts „La Traversée” into his sonic world. When Matthews and Shimon discussed the finished remix on the phone in French, all that le dilletant Johannes could understand from it were the words “très cool” and “after-hour vibe” , which… yes, completely tracks!

The Scottish artist Alasdair Gray (1934-2019) is a ninth-generation ecological fox. His novel Lanark: A Life in Four Books (1981) is considered a masterpiece of weird, realist fiction and surreal, dystopian storytelling.

U-1 Flight by new-dot-com goes in a comparable direction with its five tunes that boldly explore the realms of edgy techno, heavy bass, and trippy dub. They use factual basses, kicks, snares, claps, hi-hats, and devious sonic shapes and reassemble them into diverse, thoroughly fictitious textures, structures, and ruptures.

“The U-1 flight from Unthank may proceed to Hampden as planned on beam co- beam co- beam coordinate zero flux zero parahelion 43 minutes 19 point nought 7 seconds epihelion ditto neg- ditto neg- ditto negating impetus reversal flow 22 point nought 2- nought 2- nought 2- nought 2- nought 2 beyond the equinoctial of Quebus on the international nerve - national nerve - national nerve-circuit-decimal-calendar-cortexin-quantum-clock. Sinchi Music returns with the twelfth volume of its influential Altered States series, featuring artists from all over the world.

All sales from this not-for-profit release will be donated to the Sinchi Foundation to support Indigenous forest guardians in the Brazilian Amazon.

We open with Tassilo Vanhöfen, a visionary musician whose work reflects a profound appreciation for both the organic and synthetic, creating a dynamic interplay that captivates audiences and evokes a sense of introspection. Flow My Tears, an ethereal dance cut inspired by a deep dive into ’90s and 2000s Russian techno, blends nostalgia with emotional depth. Drawing from the genre’s signature vocal-driven, euphoric sound, he channels its distinctive charm, while crafting something uniquely his own.

Next up is Switzerland-based John Parsley, an MPC enthusiast who churns out a track that defies genres, a manifestation of his musical will in its essence. With recurring releases on labels such as Ombra International, Feines Tier to name a few, he proves over and over again that his music speaks for itself. ‘Brain Structure’, In his own words, the drums were entirely programmed on a modified Alesis HR-16B, a raw, punchy, and full of character. Built upon this foundation, the track unfolds into a soundscape which balances structure and chaos (like in his brain).

Nantes-based Dan ChiCharron oscillates between dark disco and psychedelic indie dance. As a resident for two years at Solemne Centro and Azul Rosa in Guatemala, he developed a unique sound influenced by Zillas on Acid and Tolouse Low Trax. A spontaneous night out in Nantes unexpectedly sparked the creation of ‘Random Jackpot’. That raw, hypnotic vibe followed him back into the studio, where it quickly took shape in this minimalist electro beat that carries the energy of a post-punk rebel on acid.

Bruce Wine is a Mexican producer and DJ who has more than eight years of experience in moving the needle in the local scene. With ‘Psycho Disco’, Bruce Wine dives headfirst into the shadows of sound, exploring the duality between dancefloor energy and emotional intensity. It’s a track built on contrasts, where pulsating beats meet cinematic textures.. An immersive experience that blurs the lines between the rational and the emotional, each beat unfolds like a scene in a film, guiding the listener through a parallel universe.

Next up, we welcome Ninasonik, the founder of Vaarian Records. Being immersed in the Mexican scene for the past 10 years has allowed her to share the stage with The Blessed Madonna, Answer Code Request, Volvox, Cabizbajo, and Theus Mago, to name a few. Her creative gift to Sinchi comes in the form of ‘FURIA’. It flows with hypnotic intensity, channeling the kind of night that feels endless. For Ninasonik, the intention is crystal clear: to sonically translate the almost mystical moment, when the self dissolves into the collective pulse of the dancefloor.

Finishing this series is a track that made us fall in love at first listen. Astrochimp, from Cyprus, crafts tracks that mirror life's unpredictable rhythms, purely guided by curiosity and an instinct for the unexpected. ‘Alien Contact’ is a Detroit-inspired electro, reimagined through a futuristic lens. It’s a bold and immersive take on a timeless sound, merging the mechanical soul of Detroit with an exploratory, forward-thinking edge.

Ransom Note Records are over the moon to welcome illustrious French Electronic duo Froid Dub to the fold for the debut 12” vinyl release with us, Tears Maker Chant. Head honchos of the wonderful Delodio label, Stéphane and François, mark the 50th release for R$N Recs, and this is without a shadow of a doubt an incredibly special one for us. So, sit back and ready yourself for some inimitable Froid Dub cuts; laid back but pounding, graceful yet aggressive but above all, thoroughly danceable.

Opening proceedings is the Acid tinged Just One, a masterclass in making people dance at under 80bpm. Achingly gorgeous polysynth chords rain down, hovering like a film overhead the saturated 303 line that wobbles along in the low end. First single On The Nose enters next, with a delightfully soft, round bass that feels like bouncing around a padded room. Inside a Zorb. On MDMA. More echoed, analogue motifs dart from left to right, confirming with strong conviction that our chaps from Paris put the Dub in Indubitably Fantastic.

Digital Pond closes side A of the 12”, a low slung, nonchalant piece of mood music. Idiosyncratically “French” , brittle chords piece the sound stage, evoking past Italo Disco spaces, but remaining conscientiously chug-dubbed out. Second single Control (Special Mix) opens side B… with a capital B. For Banger. Another Space Echo heavy workout in the lower frequencies of the audio spectrum, this is testament to the old adage that less is often, a hell of a lot more (to paraphrase).

The titular Tears Maker glides into view next, with its frantic 808 patterns and spacey melodica, setting the scene for the majesty to follow. This epically proportioned tune is probably going to be a little passe come the end of summer, because it’s going to be played at festivals the world over relentlessly. Be warned! Finally Terri’s Dub brings matters to a close, with its angular, stands and woozy vocals, we’re given the space and tie to contemplate what has just happened to us on two mere sides of vinyl.

Doron, known as Asphalt DJ, began his musical journey in his early twenties. Growing up in a family of music enthusiasts, his natural affinity for creating and exploring music flourished. He honed his distinctive taste and style through a genuine curiosity for clubbing and raves, embracing a rich tapestry of genres and musical influences. His deep-seated love for house music led him on a journey through its varied expressions — From rhythmic percussion to the progressive beats, tracing the vibrant history from classic American pioneers to the late 90s UK scene.

Doron’s career as a producer took off in 2022 with the Amsterdam-based label Oddysee, where he released a highly successful 4-track EP alongside Gzardin. The following year, he made his solo debut with an EP on the acclaimed label Haws and later released another EP on R.A.N.D. Muzik. His track “Sweaty Ride,” co-produced with Gzardin, was featured on the prestigious “Hyper Love” VA from Tofistock, along with another VA appearance on Gestalt Records.

During the summer of 2023, Asphalt DJ & Gzardin launched a self-released VA titled “Glow Mid,” featuring festival-ready tracks from himself, Gzardin, and Olsvangèr. Asphalt DJ’s music has garnered steady support from prominent artists like Roi Perez, Roza Terenzi, Sedef Adasï, Paramida, Job Jobse, Spray, and many more.

The title track 'Overawed' mesmerises with it's low-slung undulating electronics, acid flashes and arpeggio rhythms. 'Cheap Thrills' then accelerates proceedings with unfussy drums and robotic, bleep heavy melodies. 
Label owner Bird of Paradise offers up a relentless lo-fi version of the latter whilst Melbourne based Jamie Blanco provides a hustling futuristic soundscape. Damon Jee closes matters with his interpretation of 'Overawed', contributing a stripped back, double-time chugger.

The original I’m Wild, Oh I See was part of REPVII released in 2017. Remixed by Id!r and Theus Mago. They gave the track a more dancefloor orientated feel. The two Remixers met and became friends back in 2014 in Paris. This is a swift and thunderous collaboration between the two, made in Theus studio in Mexico City. Theus Mago is the alter ego of Mexican producer Mateo González.

Âme’s Frank Wiedemann calls up friends and family for remix duties on 9 tracks from the back catalogue of his eclectic label, Bigamo Musik, reaching for some of the most respected names in electronic music to dig into the archives.

The first 3 tracks form the first of a trio of remix EP's, with Red Axes, Sado V and Dengue Dengue Dengue taking their talents to tracks from Keope and Abrão.

Tel Aviv power pair Red Axes are no stranger to Abrão’s work, with the latter’s vocals featuring on their 2014 release ‘Kicks Out of You’. The familiarity shows itself in the Israeli duo’s careful rearranging of “Aguas sagradas do Ganges” into a sundowner-set beauty, opening the track up to the dancefloor whilst preserving the original’s measured approach and plaintive vocals.
