For that new split of the series, we welcome two heavyweights of the deviant electro scene. On the A side, the french producer Maelstrom, who recently released some nuggets on RAAR, CPU or Cultivated Electronics, and who's back on AAR after a first split with DeFeKt five years ago. On the B side, russian punks Locked Club and RLGN, known for their no-holds-barred nuts tunes on Private Persons. Expect some cold groove, loony breaks, high-pitched distortions, oriental influences, ravey vocals and of course much TB-303 !

With this release, we want to bow to those Heroes who are fighting in the name of good and peace, in the name of civilisation and democracy, in the name of Ukraine right now. Glory to the Heroes!

One of the most popular tracks from the first Rave Therapy compilation by @r-l-g-n & @destroyyy was banned on SoundCloud. The site's algorithms decided that someone else already owned the rights to the Mike Tyson interview excerpt.

After a quick investigation, we found out that an unknown hip-hop producer had used the same sample as a skit, not having the rights to it himself. But SoundCloud didn't accept our arguments, because the skit was posted a couple of months earlier and that fact was enough for the site to accuse us of copyright infringement. So 2 months after the publication track has been removed from the site with all the comments and 20 thousand listens.

But we don't give up and so we prepared for you a dub-version without the controversial fragment in the beginning. Listen and share the track to restore justice against the digital lawlessness of SoundCloud.

Any Act is a Moscow-based collective, responsible for some radical records and conceptual performances, since their debut self-released protest "Civil Act" EP, dropped in 2019 and heavily praised by Resident Advisor. Trailblazing the club and festival circuit in Russia within PRIVATE PERSONS showcases, Any Act came back to TRAM Planet Records this fall with "Viebe Po Bratski" EP and appeared with "Deti Techno" EP on Lone Romantic, label curated Maceo Plex.

One of their latest shows was broadcasted by STVOL.TV in August 2022. The band presented the title track of TECHNOROCK EP, which we are so psyched about to release on System 108. The guitar player hanging from the ceiling already became a truly iconic image. Now it serves as the cover artwork.

"Look around and take your last breath, the sounds of death are dancing between us", — the 2-track EP opens with Smert (eng. Death). Trancy, filthy synth ode to the underworld. Technorock is destined to set the next level of warehouse rave intensity, just as Any Act are doing it at their live sets. This is techno, this is punk, this is technorock.

System 108 for now takes over this outstanding story. Get ready for more!

Fans of Helena Hauff's storming Cover Mix from earlier this year will be familiar with @lockedclub and @privatepersons. She certified Locked Club's 'Baikal Boogie', from 2017 debut EP 'Forever Punk' on Private Persons, as "BANGIN'" when selecting it among her tracklist of ferocious electro. 

The balaclava-donning Russian production duo and label are now linking forces again, with a five-track EP titled 'Svoboda' landing on November 9. The title translates as 'Freedom', and refers to the struggle clubland faces to exist in light of governmental attacks. They cite the raids and shutdowns of Outline Festival, Аrma17 and Rabitza in their home country, as well Kiev's Closer, London's fabric and Tbilisi's Bassiani from further afield, as influencing the rallying energy of this EP. 

This manifesto of fighting for freedom instils an intensity that surges through the record. The title-track is a blistering mesh of distorted textures, hard-hitting percussion and call-to-arms vocals from Vadim Seleznev, who demands we "value the moment of the rave" among his searing flow.
