Cheeky Sneakers celebrates its grand opening in style as Denham Audio bring in a few friends for a masterclass in breakbeat-rooted club music.

Opening track Single Minded, featuring the prolific Coco Bryce is a playful take on classic house tropes with a dark, ravey twist while the raw, stripped-out roller So Good, produced with fellow Club Glow affiliate Mani Festo nods back to the original jungle sound.

On the flip, another CLub Glow affiliate enters the fray as LMajor assists on the cascading warehouse firecracker Down On Me while rising Japanese producer Kazuho joins to help close proceedings on the hyperactive Love Addiction.

Local Suicide announce their long awaited debut album ‘Eros Anikate' which will be released May 13th, 2022 via their own label Iptamenos Discos. The title translates to ‘love invincible’ and draws influence from a play written by Sophocles titled ‘Antigone’.

The album holds true to the duo's ‘technodisco’ sound that the couple has become so well known for and showcases their signature style of blending a retro feeling with a modern twist. In usual Local Suicide fashion, the duo’s debut album showcases tongue in cheek modern-day circumstances, mystical adventures, and moody baselines; all tied up with the promises of happy endings. You can instantly hear that this album comes from the duo’s hearts. Inspired by the travels and experiences they encountered throughout the pandemic, it’s also a love letter to the friends they met during their career - some of which are also featured on the album: Lee Stevens, Curses, The Hidden Cameras, Sissi Rada, Skelesys, Theus Mago, Hard Ton, Kalipo & Greek new wave legend Lena Platonos.

The producer couple has had a stunning amount of press coverage from leading electronic mags like RA, DJ Mag, Mixmag, FAZE, Groove, Ransom Note, TRAX, Time Out, Tsugi, XLR8R & Rolling Stone for their 13 EPs, numerous tracks on compilations and remixes since 2014 on acclaimed labels, while Beatport declared them as one of the key figures in the uprising dark disco scene. They also recently played themselves in Fett & Fett, a series broadcasted on German national TV station ZDF, in which their musical productions were featured extensively as well. Their DJ career has carried them to all four corners of the world, from Europe, Asia and North Africa to South America and the United States, whipping crowds into a frenzy at Lollapalooza, Melt!, ADE, Off Sonar, Festival Forte, Berlin Festival and many more. There’s a great sense for taming nostalgia in Lithuanian-born Klimas’ work. Based in Kaunas, real name Rokas Klimas works on setting his signature sound with a great passion for the genres of the past that flourished at the end of the previous century. The production is obviously dipped in Italo,  New Wave, and New Beat more than anything else but also showcases a huge amount of interest for the dancer of modern times through investigations of minimal techno, electro, d’n’b, and dubstep. His allies for getting the more convincing sounds are machines from the USSR era, vintage synthesizers, and other gadgets in the studio. Klimas’ background also includes some action with the Rebel Army group that got its big sound system-ready EP released on Mixmag and VNTGRD labels. 

With his long-term collaborator Tautvydas, Klimas started a label-slash-music-sharing-space in Kaunas called Lempa. As a producer, he promises a lot of stories from the past in the future.

Having already earned plays from the likes of Dixon, Ame, Chaim, and Adana Twins with releases on Ya Hala Ya Hala, Blue Shadow and Tau, Genish finds a natural fit on Multi Culti with his Third Eye EP, a kaleidoscopic triptych emerging out of the evolving sound of Tel Aviv.

Composed of myriad globe-spanning influences, his sound is a fresh, house-y hybrid, imbued with the spirit of trance but restrained in both tempo and arrangement and more ambitious in terms of sonic palette. Any Act is a Moscow-based collective, responsible for some radical records and conceptual performances, since their debut self-released protest "Civil Act" EP, dropped in 2019 and heavily praised by Resident Advisor. Trailblazing the club and festival circuit in Russia within PRIVATE PERSONS showcases, Any Act came back to TRAM Planet Records this fall with "Viebe Po Bratski" EP and appeared with "Deti Techno" EP on Lone Romantic, label curated Maceo Plex.

One of their latest shows was broadcasted by STVOL.TV in August 2022. The band presented the title track of TECHNOROCK EP, which we are so psyched about to release on System 108. The guitar player hanging from the ceiling already became a truly iconic image. Now it serves as the cover artwork.

"Look around and take your last breath, the sounds of death are dancing between us", — the 2-track EP opens with Smert (eng. Death). Trancy, filthy synth ode to the underworld. Technorock is destined to set the next level of warehouse rave intensity, just as Any Act are doing it at their live sets. This is techno, this is punk, this is technorock.

System 108 for now takes over this outstanding story. Get ready for more!

Brussels-based up-and-coming talent Ikaro Grati marks his Feines Tier debut with the four track SEARCH LANGUAGE EP. As Ikaro himself puts it, it’s „an euphonious exploration of the new generation, weaving together their hopes, dreams, challenges, and contradictions into a sonic tapestry“. And indeed, if this sound represents the new generation, then we’re in good hands! It’s diverse and sprawling, yet laser-focused in its production. Take the title track with its clear-cutting drum patterns, warm basslines and super-sharp lead sounds, the picture is clear, no smudge on the lense to distort our view. Or „Run Like A Child“ with its bouncing vocal samples and synth arpeggios creating a playful and whimsical vibe, „reflecting the vibe of hope and renewal“ as Ikaro himself puts it. „Social Syndrome“ gets more serious with pulsing 303s and dramatic string pads. Ikaro says „the track is about the pressure of the younger generation to be constantly connected and the social anxiety that can result“, for example by social media tending to create unrealistic expectations and feelings of inadequacy. The EP closes with the bangin’ „New Leaf Generation“, which alternates urging vocal loops with intense synth explorations. The tune culminates in a break introducing beautiful poly-synth chord progressions before throwing us back into the relentless groove of before. „This track evokes a sense of hope and optimism, as it describes a generation that is standing up for what they believe“ says Ikaro. Let’s celebrate them for that!

Ruff Stuff teams up with Bress Underground for a long awaited return to SB... a new collection of Deep House tracks of the highest order from these Italian House Heads. Foundations is a steam roller of a track calling on Ruff Stuff’s love for Mr.G, with some tasty French House accents adding a nice funk factor. Sliding Sine makes us wanna go felt pelt on an Autobahn with its rich bass stabs under late night synth echoes with tough drum programming.

Bress Underground comes aboard to collab on the next two tracks and makes his presence felt. The Community is a punchy gospel House cut with crackling vocal samples and trippy chord patterns. Introducing a fantastic new release from Rigopolar and Disto Disco - Spaced Out EP. This 5 track collaboration includes two brand new original tracks, as well as three remixes from stellar artists: Phunkadelica, Cabizbajo & Colossio, and Childs. The EP will release on Rigopolar's own label, Tour De Infinite.

Rigopolar a.k.a Manuel Castaneda is a Miami based DJ and producer originally from Mexico. He has released previously on Duro, Nazca and most recently on his very own Tour De Infinite. Through a mixture of italo disco and techno, Rigopolar has crafted his expansive sonic universe. His music is inquisitive, and challenges the listener to dive deep and ask big questions along with him. Where do we come from? Where are we going?

In Spaced Out EP he joins forces with DJ duo Disto Disco. These Mexican party starters know disco inside and out. Their club night Discoteca Seducción has taken them across Mexico and beyond, where they showcase the finest selections of disco, dark disco, italo and indie dance.

The EP begins with Untitiled, a masterful study on the fundamentals of disco. This 8 minute epic track stretches time - stripped back with a focus on perfecting the core elements of irresistible grooves. Expertly crafted instrumentation which give the track a live, organic feel. A groove that grows on you as it repeats, each element digging a little deeper and hooking you a little more until you’re on the ride with them.

Moving into title track Spaced Out, which has more of an 80s feel. Space age post-disco with an acid flavour. Like Untitled, Spaced Out has the kind of chord progressions that make you double take. Beautifully crafted harmonies in the synths which transport us to this cosmic space - we're Spaced Out as the name suggests. Its compelling bassline repeats throughout, inviting us in and leaving us in a constant state of suspense.

Italian sensations Phunkadelica pick up the energy in the Spaced Out remix, this time with more emphasis on percussion. The track is a sonic feast with splashy hats, joyful cowbells and whipping snares. The remix feels as though we have arrived somewhere, and yet it keeps the listener on their toes with unexpected yet perfectly executed mutations in the groove.

Cabizbajo and Colossio, two prominent electronic artists in Mexico's contemporary music scene, showcase their unmistakable mastery in the Untitled remix. The track lifts off and soars, it's expansive and determined. Here they crack open the original, as though this version was lingering somewhere under the surface already. The added synths and texture expand on the narrative that was alluded to by the original, and takes the listener somewhere momentous and free.

Last but not least, Childs. This innovative indie shoegaze band from Mexico flip Untitled on its head. Slowed right down, this version is transcendent with organ sounds akin to a warm shower. A beautiful, ephemeral remix, almost like a ghost of the original. It’s a downtempo dream that feels both deeply human and totally otherworldly.

The EP is an impressive exploration through indie dance and disco variations, and is certainly not to be missed! Spaced Out EP will release 26th of February, 2024 via Tour De Infinite on all digital and streaming platforms.

The situation we’re witnessing in Gaza is heartbreaking. While the world watches, over 30,000 innocent Palestinian people, many of whom were children, have been killed and over 70,000 more injured in attacks since October 7th. Homes, neighbourhoods and cities have been destroyed, and most of the population has been displaced and left without food, clean drinking water, electricity and fuel. 

The UK government has continued to allow Israel’s bombardment in the region and chosen not to back consistent calls for a ceasefire, despite the overwhelming majority of the UK public being in favour.

In an effort to raise money for Palestinian aid charities, I’ve reached out to lots of talented artists who have kindly contributed their music to this incredibly important cause. 

Sonically it traverses chugging electronics, proto electro, Italo dance, UK techno and leftfield bass from artists like JD Twitch, Ambien Baby, Lisene, GoodMostlyBad and Azo, all of whom are joining our call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

FREE PALESTINE.

All proceeds from the compilation will be split 50/50 between two charities who are working hard to provide support and humanitarian aid in Gaza: Medical Aid Palestine and War Child UK.

Rizla Ops joins the NHS orbit with his debut EP release 'Aphid' - An offering of functional, mechanical crawlers that hit disparate BPMs and creep into the territories of many genres of club music that predominantly hail from the shores of the UK. The brief collection highlights a generous dose of maximalism and pairs this with a microcosm of jittering, insectoid syncopation. Ransom Note Records sub label Insult To Injury are delighted to welcome back analogue techno pioneers Buran with their second full length excursion for the label, in the form of The Hunter EP. Born of the mechanical machinations of Joe Wretham and Ian Scott, their latest instalment of furious face melters is aimed squarely at the post midnight dancefloor, bubbling away with squelchy 303 potions and black magic beats.

First single, Alnitak, opens the EP and immediately we’re confronted with Buran’s inimitable modus operandi; slash and burn Acid Techno with a scorched earth ethos. A full frontal assault of acidic sorcery, lobbing techno bangers over the ramparts as the castle walls are pummelled. Hold onto your hats, it’s not for the faint of heart!

Alnilam is next out the gate, ricocheting off the armour plating of its enemies, bouncing along and razing everything in its path to the ground. We’re delivered brief respite from the brutality with the addition of some celestial vocal edits, whose angelic timbres provide juxtaposition to the synthetic onslaught. As the smoke clears, the penultimate Mintaka glides into view. Wonderfully barbed, but gloriously lush chords propel the track forward, over a bed over automaton drum machines and staccato blips, bleeps and swirling noise.

Rounding off, ITI are hyped to have the mighty Void Complet on remix duties. Fresh off the back of his breakthrough release on CHOBU Records, London based super producer Chog Burley takes Alnitak and reimagines it in his own image. Launching with a rich, metallic arpeggio, we’re drawn into an analogue dream, before realising that’s all a ruse. We have been lulled into a false sense of security, because we’re about to be clattered around the head by that savage 303 riff from the original. We’re caught in the crossfire as glitched vocals and bit crushed acid lines vie for dominance. This correspondent knows not how to fully encapsulate the terror of this remix… watch out dance floors around the world!

King of Kings EP is a reminiscence of a period (1980 - 1991), prior to the economic liberalization of India. A closed economy with nearly 200% tariffs or outright bans on all foreign electronic equipment’s including synthesizers, sequencers, drum machines and computers due to west’s antagonizing behavior towards India for not opening its market for foreign colonial corporate actors.

This did not deter musicians to get their hands on the machines despite all the stumbling blocks placed in front of them. Defiance and persistence gave birth to Indian acid and electro synth pop created under our own terms becoming not only father of the machines once we couldn’t own but with our playful ragas giving birth to genres such as acid house.

India thus opened another node in the global cultural flows of electronic music. Cumulatively, this period contributed to the triumph of import substitution in cultural production. An attitude was born to why import when we can make it on our own. A major shift in a mind colonised and slaved for 400 yrs.

This an honest attempt to show the world, how Indian musicians undeterred by barriers made their own mark with western synthesizers and drum machines while staying true to their ethnic identity. A period of Computer Love.

“King of Kings” which translates literally from Tamil (Rajadhi Raja) is a true endeavor to demonstrate to the world how Indian musicians have overcome racial and political boundaries to achieve their sonic mission of expressing our artistic autonomy filled with purpose, perseverance and avant-garde excitement. A musical piece that aims to represent the idea, “In order to become who you are, you need to first overcome who it is they said you are”. A true King of Kings.

After introducing himself in our last compilation RETROFUTUR, Levantine deploys his first EP for the owl.

"Interdimensional Love Triangle" is a powerful cosmic italo track with a tense acid touch. In the distance stretches a melancholy melody.

In the same vein as the eponymous track, "Fever" is definitively badass ! Percussive rhythm, cosmic melody and poignant synth are the main ingredients of this dancefloor track.

"Ecstasy & Desperation" is a slightly more sensitive title but still very danceable. The bass and synth match perfectly. The atmosphere is highlighted with a spatial melody and some carrying pads.

Our favorite Berlin-based Austrian My Secret Playground is back. Once again delivering a sensational remix, he perfectly mixes his Disco origins and electronic music, while respecting Levantine's original music. Cosmic and lyrical !

Injecting further exhilarating levels of joy and bounce into his blends, the Berlin- based producer treats us to a smörgåsbord of club-optimized groovers in 'Infinitely Venus'.

A quartet of feelgood chuggers designed to contrast with the bleak state of the world as we experience it, 'Infinitely Venus' draws deep into the late 70s / early 80s period with its fun-loving mix of VHS glitch, space disco-ey vocoder, en-vogue trap rhythms and cleverly collaged film samples. The mix starts off around 105 bpm, keeping it at a nice low tempo with favorites from HiFi Sean, Eden Burns, and Fantastic Man before building toward a more peak-time club energy over the two hours. There are tracks from Vanessa Worm, and Theus Mago as well as the new Justin Cudmore track on a new label we have launched as The Night Institute. There are tracks from my Polari Records family, in the form of Shay Shaz and Micropacer, off the new 'No Tears in the Backroom' compilation and I've included both originals from my new release on Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant label.

Jordan Nocturne has been soundtracking parties in sweatbox clubs, festivals and raucous afterparties with his propulsive approach to electronic music for two decades.

The Nocturne schedule these days includes stops in Berlin, New York, Japan & London and has resulted in an uncompromising attitude to club culture that has been cultivated through playing some of the worlds leading underground parties. Jordan has soundtracked stand-out sessions at the helm of Pikes Ibiza, Fabric London, Sub Club in Glasgow and his own cult party, The Night Institute in Belfast. In 2023 The Night Institute was nominated 'Best Club Event', in the DJ Mag Best of British awards, cementing it's position as a refuge for the city's diverse characters that are looking for an alternative after-dark.

The prolific Nocturne Edits series was a runaway success, demanding several vinyl represses, while Jordan's uplifting take on house, disco and techno has found favour with Peggy Gou, Jennifer Cardini, Cormac & Erol Alkan to name just a few.

This ascent has seen the world's leading dance music institutions calling upon Jordan, with Nocturne mixes for Circoloco, DJ Mag, Mixmag and Feel My Bicep sitting comfortably alongside weekend guest mixes on Radio 1 and 6 Music.

Fractal Void is an avant-garde duo based in Düsseldorf, Germany. Their experimental music blends electronic and contemporary genres located somewhere in the field of musical tension between ambient, drone, halfstep and floor-affine IDM. During their live sets, Fractal Void create vertical reflections by processing sounds through software and interaction with real instruments in every unique musical performance like the Chinese contemporary calligraphic practice Dishu.

Their debut album Elemental Collection unveils a dense and lavishly layered transformation of artificial organic signals, sculpting an auditory world filled with emotive landscapes, overgrown polyrhythms and futuristic elements. Embedded within each track are field recordings serving as the heartbeat of the album. Through innovative and expansive deconstruction, Fractal Void create an energetic and sometimes contemplative experience.

The persons behind Fractal Void:
Back in 2008, their musical journey began with winning a Spectrasonics competition using field recordings of a locker door, that was implemented as a bass synth. Their collaboration was continued as producers of the eight-piece electronic jazz project „Mothers of Guru“.

Marcus Scheltinga is a composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Besides studying jazz trombone at the Conservatorium Hilversum and the Folkwanghochschule, he works as a musical director, lecturer and coach in 39 countries around the world. From ZDF sound design to live and studio performances with international greats, his own productions have included such as Grammy winner Larry Carlton and Peter Erskine. Mid-east and Indian inspired, Marcus is a true story teller as a musician and composer.

BORGBORG is a producer and DJ. She moves freely in different styles of electronic music with a focus on avant-garde driving techno, dark hypnotic vibes seamlessly blended with deconstructed beats, noise and timeless elements of IDM. She is a member of About Repetition, a group of artists dedicated to the research of repetition through artistic means, collaborating with a wide range of other collectives across Europe and co-founder of the techno event series „SCHLEIFEN“.

Their latest EP Source Transformation lands on Faux Poly this Spring.

This release showcases the artists inherent flair for treading the line between delicately uplifting melodies and rattling heavy bass. Each track conjures up a beautifully atmospheric future-acid world that is a dream to get lost in.

We started producing this EP in the late summer of 2023 in which some of our project’s biggest releases had dropped. Seeking for a way to stick to our signature sound without repeating ourselves we aimed for new grooves and patterns to combine with our sound sphere. The first three tracks of the EP were produced within one month, while Astral Surge was a few months older and happened to be rearranged to fit into the overall vibe of the EP. When Joe and Warren reached out to us to work with them on a Faux Poly project we had a feeling that these would be the tracks that could make an EP. We’re even more glad the feeling was mutual.

Human Endeavour ready their next release, ‘Echo Ritual’: a heady, potent brew of club sounds from Middlesbrough DJ, producer and label head REES.

The Spy is on a mission for the 8th Kri release and it ends with a bang. Similar to Wessel's releases on Mechatronica and Osare! Editions, his signature sound keeps evolving by melting electro, EBM and wave into a hypnotising dystopian soundtrack.

The Lyon imprint @hardfist strikes again with the collaborative Princes of Abzu EP, federating producers hailing from multiple horizons. 

A hedonist move, caring more about vibes and feelings than borders and nationalities. Referring to a mythological source that is the sea to every river, Princes of Abzu is a drop in a global culture expanding its currents to infinity.   

Producer and percussionist @shadi-khries is inspired by the desert, one place in particular : Wadi Rum, in his home country Jordan. He mixes traditional instruments like semsemeh (which gives its name to the track) bouzouki and oud, with electronic acid textures that makes it perfect for the club.

The original I’m Wild, Oh I See was part of REPVII released in 2017. Remixed by Id!r and Theus Mago. They gave the track a more dancefloor orientated feel. The two Remixers met and became friends back in 2014 in Paris. This is a swift and thunderous collaboration between the two, made in Theus studio in Mexico City. Theus Mago is the alter ego of Mexican producer Mateo González.

PRÈMIÉRE: Sutja Gutierrez - I’m Wild, Oh I See (Theus Mago & Id!r Remix) [Relish]

Âme’s Frank Wiedemann calls up friends and family for remix duties on 9 tracks from the back catalogue of his eclectic label, Bigamo Musik, reaching for some of the most respected names in electronic music to dig into the archives.

The first 3 tracks form the first of a trio of remix EP's, with Red Axes, Sado V and Dengue Dengue Dengue taking their talents to tracks from Keope and Abrão.

Tel Aviv power pair Red Axes are no stranger to Abrão’s work, with the latter’s vocals featuring on their 2014 release ‘Kicks Out of You’. The familiarity shows itself in the Israeli duo’s careful rearranging of “Aguas sagradas do Ganges” into a sundowner-set beauty, opening the track up to the dancefloor whilst preserving the original’s measured approach and plaintive vocals.

Following on from their much loved One Night Stands Volume 1 - La Belle Records ups the ante with an epic 2nd volume. Walking the same path as the first record Vol 2 unearths a further 10 mind-blowing examples of 'slo-mo synth-pop, lo-fi fusion, space dubs, tribal grooves and spiralling nu-disco electronics'.

Featuring tracks curated by Golden Bug from some of his robot mates such as : Get A Room!, Strapontin, Funboys, Roe Deers, Front De Cadeaux, Rodion & Leonard de Leonard, Ellis Island (a collaboration between Bawrut and Hot Spell), Claap!, Akkan, Takiru & Yaari, all brought together from around the world in the way La Belle Records loves to do.

This is a compilation of danceable but freaked out electronics. Out there productions and truly wild ideas that push the boundary's of what the underground is in 2020. Music that makes any set memorable.
