Two years after our last V/A, we're back with the first opus of our ‘Vapordub’ imprint series. Another artifact rising from the depths of the leftfield music scene, this time focused on contemporary psychedelics.
Highly inspired by the textures of the vaporwave sonic aesthetic, our 16-track compilation displays in turns intriguing sound design, graceful synths from a new age, weird exotics and psychoactive slow-dubs.
Designed to please either curious or skilled ears, our various paves the way for a 90-minute mind wandering in distant, fantasized realms. Featuring renowned international artists, up and coming French projects and obscure aliases in the likes of A Strange Wedding & Camille Claire Olympie, Alieno deBootes, Babau, Bouti, Dean O’Brien Resorts, Dylan Henner, Georgia, Giant Grouper, Herbarium, Horn Chants, Jonnnah, Naomie Klaus, Nuke Watch, Polonius, Salamanda and Vica Pacheco.

Key player of the Swiss rave and dance music scene, NVST stays true to her nonconformist nature and brings up new dimensions to her sound in her latest work. Going back and forth between hopeful lightness and gritty despair, NVST listens to the world and echoes its confusion throughout ten tracks of fragmented textures and sensitive reflection. After "Compiled Works 2017-2019" including the famous from underground "Police Star Pablo", NVST makes a stellar comeback on Big Science with her debut album, "Drum in the Bass of Attention». Dark Entries’ resident scuzzmasters De-Bons-en-Pierre return with the Card Short of a Full Deck EP, featuring six tracks of their signature sludge. In 2016, Beau Wanzer and Maoupa Mazzochetti fused forces in order to infect the world with their mutant analog strain, a noxious hybrid of 80’s DIY cassette electronics and 90’s Birmingham techno. Card Short of a Full Deck follows 2017’s Crepes EP and 2019’s EP No. 1 and EP No. 2, all released via Dark Entries. Their latest salvo features six tracks composed for a live performance in 2019. While a damaged sense of whimsy has pervaded their previous work, Card Short sees the duo ramping up the absurdity to obscene levels. Skittering rhythms dance over ghoulish basslines and haunting, rave-evocative chords on cuts “Le Râle du Mâle Alpha” and “Puddle Points”. Elsewhere, like on “Card Short of a Full Deck” and “Accidental Surgeries”, contorted vocals battle careening synths amidst post-apocalyptic waste. This deck’s not just short, it’s also full of jokers The sleeve for Card Short of a Full Deck was designed by Eloise Leigh, and features a punk zine xerox aesthetic with playing card motifs.

Worst Records' hall of fame welcomes new faces around the pool for a 13-stages enlightened drama. You'll meet again with the top 3 podium made of A Strange Wedding, Jacques Satre and Christian Coiffure, all rensponsible for our first three releases, building up a mesmerizing, out of season mental workout. Extending the dimension of trance towards Saint-Etienne, Del.Duc brings on a curious yet serene astral travel, and we can also count on the distant reinforcements from the Toulouse Gouffre Club crew with Jan Loup and her glitch spangled hazy dub from far futures and the new trance comer from Bordeaux, Lazuli.
Special friends are also gathering here, as Myako is sewing on thin fabric a vaporous dub in shades of grey, the one-and-only master touki Théo Muller delivers a cinematic remedy to confinement.
Liberation through hearing, it is, as borders explode with the presence of many : Yin Yang Audio in a transatlantic IDM/break jump, Forest on Stasys (aka Mental Resonance) and his tough shamanic dance, Clemens Friedrich slowing down all senses at once and JEANS, boss of Oracle Bones, speeding us up in the hyperloop.
Finally, as teamwork means a lot, we have given the pleasure to open this compilation to the four-headed Lausanne/Freiberg hydra 4POTR and their cryptic transdimensional message, and the honor of closing this pool party to the 404 trio gem from Candoblé with a fine piece of wonder.

Not exactly your usual summer compilation, nor the hits you could imagine, but surely the music you'll need under the hot sun of 2020.
