The noises were echoing and reverberating down the hall - it was dark as he moved slowly past each room glancing inside to see if they might be the source of the strange and mysterious sounds. There was a fog which lingered in the air and the floor was sticky beneath. This was the spot all right.

Shadows moved passed him in the corridor, dark faces illuminated only by the occasional flicker and flash of lights from somewhere up above.

This was the sort of place that his parents had warned him about, the sort of place which stank of trouble. Perhaps that was what he had been looking for all along...

DEEWEE is always a force to be reckoned with. Leftfield dance music drawing from a sprawling array of influences make up the tapestry of this unique and innovative record label. Phillipi is a musician who has featured prominently on the label previously and now returns with a new EP which showcases a mixture of Proto - House, EBM and Slo-Mo sounds.

The mystics of Magic Ritmo arise with their debut record, unearthing a curated selection of tracks from Adel Dhibi’s 1996 album M’Hajer for a coveted and long-awaited reissue. 

Adel is a Belgian artist of Tunisian origin working most prominently between 1993 and 1996 on a variety of electronic music from Downtempo to House, Trance and beyond, whilst carefully intertwining sounds inspired by his Arabic origins, a path lesser trodden by both his European and Tunisian counterparts at the time of release. A deep believer of empowerment through music, Adel’s unique approach sets to create a more peaceful world through his exploration of new and pioneering electronic sounds. A vision of sound and values that stands relevant and even more powerful today, 27 years after M’Hajer’s original release.

Magic Ritmo is honoured to continue to share Adel’s story and music with an exclusive, fully licensed and remastered version of M’Hajer. The album was originally recorded at Java-Trot Studio in Ostend, Belgium before its original CD/Cassette release, making this reissue the first time M’hajer has been pressed to vinyl.

Tensi on A1 is the perfect introduction to the record, an ambience of glittering synths and strings set the tension, building towards a paradise of breaks, euphoric arpeggiators and echoing Arabic vocals. Fadha follows suit, keeping the tempo high with psychedelic flair as its driving percussion pushes the record into early-Goa territory. Finally, closing out the record we have Sabrin for the B side, a downtempo gem filled with spacey electronics and a bassline set to shake any system that can handle its powerful frequencies.

After last year’s great success of her debut EP ‘Boost & Doubts’ we decided to ask 4 great artists to remix the track Burning Inside, as it is the most personal one that resonates in her soul. 
This EP starts with a highly epic remix by French precursor Rebeka Warrior. Her take on Belaria’s song is as surprising as amazing, taking us to a profound electronic ballad, full of emotive and harmonious sounds.
It is followed by up and coming Dj and producer Miguel de Bois, who’s interpretation of Burning Inside brings your brain cells back into a retro futurist vibe of the 80’s. We are still wondering how a down tempo remix like this can feel like a banger to us !
Number 3, by one of France’s main new talent Desire, makes the EP fall properly into the club. The mix of sounds and styles living in that remix makes it so special, and is set to put dance floors on fire from start to end.
Last but not least the most famous Mexican duo Zombies In Miami have done what they do best, an amazingly produced track in there EBM / Italo style, which will once again not leave any dancer unsatisfied, whether in front of a sunset with your feet in the sand, or in a dark & sweaty basement.

Welcome to the captivating universe of 'Farming The Metaverse,' the latest musical adventure from J.deere 420. This EP marks the beginning of a quest to sow melodies in the wild lands of virtual universes.

The EP opens with a melancholic experience in 'Did I Miss You?'. This track shaped for closing mix pays homage to J.Deere 420's first EP at DLZ Records, with a nod to the track 'Why U Left.' The emotional break accentuates the melancholy, offering a poignant conclusion.

'Tasteless Turbo Tool' immerses the listener in a deep atmosphere through its pads, reflecting the majesty of the ocean and the power of the waves off the shores of Ouessant. This bouncy track, rich in drums, is ideal for peak time.

Resolutely techno-oriented, the five tracks on the ep release an exciting live energy and give the impression of having been recorded as they are in one take. With its acid loops and female vocals, the first track, If Playing, is particularly powerful. 
Sophisticated yet spontaneous, exalted yet nuanced, the whole ep lends itself well to (almost) quiet listening at home, but above all seems tailor-made for live performance - ideally in a club, where the duo would achieve their primary objective: to get the audience dancing and going into a trance.

Nantes-based Collectif Solstice announces their first Various Arists compilation, with the participation of 13 artists coming from various electronic scenes (France, United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil). First volume is focused on the minimal & darker side of club music, while second volume is brighter & funkier.

After members of the collective met up with a number of new artists and producers in 2023, the idea of the Various Artist project quickly came to life and led to a meeting with Diego Verissimo, a sound engineer and producer who will be responsible for mastering the project.

Melómana opens the year with a compilation that brings together producers who have marked and defined the musical orientation of the label. Its reference 039 is not only a testimony of long-term work, it is also the announcement of what is to come this year 2024.

The compilation brings together songs by artists such as Panka Panka, Azaria, Yahaira, JGR, Jackwasfaster, Ludviq, Nick Hanzo, Macaulay, Mijo, Pastor in Vegas, Rubinskee, Ademarr, Joseeph. Established talents on the scene, as well as emerging projects, offering an approach as designed for the track as it is for home listening.

Altogether, we find fused rhythms and rich soundscapes that lead us to an exploration as fluid as it is captivating. The album offers us a dynamic contrast that shows the versatility of a timeless project, created from talent, meticulousness and sonic coherence.The level of production of these guys is intense but, on the other hand, the care of the sounds they release is at the level of those who do things because they want and with the time they really need. The tracks have strength and jump over the prevailing conventions, knowing how to avoid the most recurrent rawness and darkness, seeking dance
but without predictable tricks and without exceeding an understandable level of experimentation suitable for the dance floor.

We could say that each producer summarizes their intentions in this compilation, seeking novelty without losing nostalgia, that they play with the genre but without falling into predictable tricks, nor into the arrogance of those who get wrapped up in a genre or mannerism to demonstrate that They have personality. And this is just the beginning, because this year Melómana is going to bring us many surprises.
