After a well received 50th catalog number and the latest EP from Moo Moonster & Parissior, Berlin-based
returns with its Lost Tapes series. A 10 track album from cutting edge artists deserving your attention.
Zombies in Miami, known from their releases on Running Back & Permanent Vacation kick off this release with their debut track on AEON, which had its beginning on some improvisation during a live show. The work on it continued in studio and out came „Running Again“. A song which is guided by a heavy 303 bassline, a driving arpeggiator, a dark synth melody and pregnant cowbells.
Rigopolar is no stranger to the camp. His last release on AEON was quite a success, also being found in essential playlists such as Dixon’s Track ID on Spotify. The arrangements of his songs are quite a-typical for this Italo influenced sound and therefore makes it so special. „Into The Sun“ as well is constantly evolving with small changes, grooving and driving towards its highlights. A tune to easily get lost in it.
Upcoming Lithuanian born producer and DJ Zakmina, who’s tracks already have been released on Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant or Future Boogie continues the journey on this album with a dreamy electro/ breakbeat influenced piece. Adding some „Kraftwerk“ sounding computer voice, „Activation“ becomes a worth debut on AEON for the 25 year old.
We are also happy to welcome Vhyce, another young gun, who already made some noise with releases on Pets Recordings and Future Disco. The characteristics of his sounds are very clear and recognizable... Still he manages that his way of ‚simple‘ also turns out ‚effective‘. „Back To Where I Never Was“ can also be seen as the introduction to a massive EP following up later this year.
Russian Zakir describes himself as a producer with „meticulous attitude to forming“ of his music, reminding „of narration of a fairy tale“. „Courier 21“ tells us a story leading us through breaks, a classic 303 bassline, topped with melodies in arabic scale.
The Mexican line up on the 4th part of this Lost Tapes completes Guadalajara based My Boy Roy, who already delivered a massive remix for Alex Niggemann’s „Rise of the Machines“ back in 2020. „Chimerical“ stands out with its classic synth/new wave drums and a dark vibe bass riff, opening up with ‚sunshine like‘ melancholic break, before dropping back into its beats.
Another intro via Lost Tapes makes Rees, owner of the eclectic ‚Paradiso’ label with his uptempo tune „Dominate The Matrix“. His upcoming EP on AEON is long awaited and will include a remix from no one less than ‚Curses’.
Italian- Venezuelan Ricardo Baez, founder „Tropical Animals“ an event series in Florence, is up next with his tune „Ricordo Micidiale“ which is Italian for a very hard and strong memory, which at the same time could be a fatal or lethal memory. "This track resumes both things“, he says. Stomping 909 toms, driving bassline and choir/vocal like atmospheres might relate to the the constant battle of thoughts within minds of artists and genius minds.
Rotterdam based Machinegewehr has already made himself a name with releases on Correspondant and Amsterdam's Bordello A Parigi. With „The Maze“ the passionate drummer delivers a dreamy Nu-Italo gem with outstanding vocoder sounds and sets the bar high for his upcoming EP on AEON.
Lost Tapes Vol. 4 ends with „Mind Slave“. A track produced by Silicodisco, that finds its inspirations though the genres of Indie Dance, Future Disco and touches of post New Wave. A laid back, melodic heavy tune that perfectly rounds up an album, the AEON family is proud to present to you.

Lifted from his latest “Dreamweaving” EP (https://ffm.to/endm0003), Elninodiablo’s oneiric journey of a tune “Dorothea’s Rainbow” returns in the form of a four-track remix package featuring the likes of Norwegian cosmic disco maestro Prins Thomas, fabled UK vibist Ray Mang and Berlin born and raised talent Perel, in addition to Elninodiablo himself.

Channeling telluric energies and dubby, kosmische-laced electronics through a multi-faceted ride that keeps on shifting angles and tempi, Full Pupp head honcho Prins Thomas kicks it off on the smoothest note possible. Built as a full-fledged 12-minute long mini-odyssey, the track winds out a luscious mix of Afro-funk indebted drums, acid-dyed bass and further cross-pollinated cosmic disco dynamics. Most of the drum and bass parts were played live.

An absolute master groove-musher, British legend Ray Mang (Mangled, DFA, R&S, Toy Tonics, Eskimo… etc.) harnesses the power of the Italo-disco gods to weave a romantically jacking revamp; bridging the gap betwixt straight up electro heat and brass-laden funk from outer-space. Intrinsically tailored for the dancers’ pleasure, this one’s bound to bring crowds to a steady simmer, just as is true with every Mang-led piece of work.

Third in line is Berlin’s own Perel (DFA, Dischi Autunno, Uncanny Valley) muscling in with a hi-velocity revamp, clearly tuned to make heavy damage on the dancefloor. Taking the original in a whole new, 100% club-oriented direction as well, Perel’s version fast-forwards us in an endless corridor of arpeggiated frenzy and lusciously synth-splattered firepower. Bespoke, pumped-up weaponry fully geared for peak-time action.

Final remix comes from Elninodiablo himself, who gives way to the fevered appeal of jungle drums, Venusian disco and powerhouse bass from hell. The result is a no-nonsense DJ asset, boiling up to a hectic momentum of restless robotic flute lines and filtered keyboard volutes painting the background all kinds of vivid summery colours. One to get the tiles of the roof flying off sharp and clean.

Vilnius calling, peeps! Skilful Lithuanian producer Bojarchük joins the incredible Quixotical Records with a stunning EP. "Disco Quarantino" brings two well-crafted originals and three fat remixes provided by a top-notch selection of young-but-seasoned international artists: Mmyylo (France), Geerra (Chile), and Della (Spain).

The motif of Bojarchük’s debut EP could not be different: Besides being an aspiring music virtuoso, he is also a promising 25-year-old doctor. Quarantine and social distancing are still a thing at our crazy times, hence his decision of making people dance but have in mind the crisis is not over.

In the energetic and frenzied title track, Doctor Bojarchük proficiently fused his Italo & Dark Disco influences, delivering a piece that properly depicts one of our main cravings during the peak of the lockdown: The necessity of being out there, dancing along with friends and strangers in a packed and sweaty dance floor. Alvaro Guerra aka GEERRA – a talented Santiago-based DJ, producer, guitarist, and singer – strengthens the Italo Disco elements in his remix, adding some vitamins and embellishing the strongest features of the original.

PREMIERE233 // Bojarchük - Disco Quarantino (Geerra Remix)

Lakeshouse (@lakeshouse) is a group of producers, artists and jazz musicians from Norway. Cowboy EP is their fourth release alongside various remixes and bootlegs and their first on on My Choice Recordings (@my-choice-recordings). Their previous work has received praise in both Mixmag and DJ Mag, as well as support from Alexander Robotnik, Bottin, RSS Disco, Andy Buchan and Diskjokke to name a few. This EP draws inspiration from both gay house-anthems and old spaghetti westerns. 

The opening title track Cowboy is a gimmicky vocal house-track propelled forward by a catchy arpeggio-bassline, underlined by snippets from horses, gunfights and clear nods to Norwegian space disco-pioneers like Lindstrøm and Todd Terje. 

Native is the Native American side of the coin. It too is founded on a funky bassline but has a more tactile and understated approach than the opening track; It's as if it underlines the cultural differences between the settlers and the people whose land they stole. Part deep house, part italo disco, part Norwegian madness. 

Closing it all is the K-Hole Dub-mix of Cowboy. This track feels like the marriage between the previous two. It's a percussive, psychedelic and dubbed-out affair where the original bassline is slowed down to half-time and everything feels like a neverending déjà vu. There's a KLF-like intro, haunted saxophones, sedated vocals and an insistent groove that demands your attention.

All eyes fixated on her as she entered the room; burning deep into her skin. She knew exactly what they were thinking; 'who was this woman?' and 'surely she wasn't meant to be here?' It no longer bothered her, as she climbed up the ladder into positions of power, she knew it would only grew worse. It was difficult making it in a man's world but she'd give it everything she had.

Before lockdown New York & London music platform Gouranga shared 'Taubira', an exclusive track from French DJ and producer Dombrance to mark his first show in the US, and the first of Gouranga's Bowery Ballroom parties. The crew are now expanding their operations to share some of their favourite electronic music, which includes a package of remixes of the original cut. Tasked with adding their own signature touches are Slovenian producer Ichisan, Spain's James Rod, cosmic mainstay Prins Thomas and one half of PVBLIC XCESS, Josh Ludlow, who delivers two stellar remixes: an extended version and an Italo rework.

From the B movie-inspired hammer that is "I'll Be Your Eyes" to the percussive madness of "Bongo Brains", [sic] is busy exploring eclectic sounds which all work as a cohesive whole.

Rounding out the record there is no shortage of dance floor depth. "Vuurverk" keeps things heavy with huge stab driven grooves and a subtle melodic thread whilst "Where Are You?" closes the EP with more than a nod to minimalism.

The reference number 73 and our first reference of this year 2022 comes signed by the great Myrddin, from France this fantastic composer delights us with an ep full of eighties and cosmic sounds, with his unique touch, and is that Myrddin since he appeared with his project and label Meloppe Records, is giving much to talk about in the international circuit.

He always gives us an energetic sound for the dancefloor but full of emotions to enjoy, a fine and defined composition characterizes a lot the sound of our french partner, we love it and we can say that this ep will not go unnoticed to your ears.

The ep consists of four tracks, one original accompanied by remixes made in Golden Soul.

Macho Cutie as a special touch, and this nordic team beautifies everything they touch, generating a break version of this wonderful theme, but with its cosmic nuances, very friends of the arpeggios to the Giorgio and stellar pad defining a space sound.

The other two tracks go straight to the dancefloor, James Rod and Aleito are in charge of accompanying this great track with the sound of the house, both taking it to their terrain, fast cuts, brilliant arpeggios and an ideal touch for the dancefloor, quality electronica to cover this great track.
