And if you think this sounds awfully lot like a scam, you’re probably right: „Regression Session“ is just a front of their illegal black market operation, trading raw uncut gems on a large scale. Just listen to the opener and title track and you won’t exactly have a strong case for the Zillas selling out, but rough as it is, this thing is capable of destroying any dancefloor it touches.

Looking at their recent releases it’s fair to say the Z’s are on quite a run, putting out music on labels like Permanent Vacation, Throne Of Blood, Multi Culti or Ivan Smagghe’s Disques de la Mort. Tunes like the sneaky rough slow burners „Underling“ or „Start Digging“ sound like they could be lifted from the latter’s infamous DJ sets, while the deceptively titled „Cha Cha Cha“ or closer „Casual Observer“ justify the „Acid“ in the artist name. „Shining Snakes Across The Lake“ is what some years might have been called a mid-tempo house roller and probably counts as downtempo these days. Speaking of tempos, the penultimate „Sweet Days Of Discipline“ starts of masquerading as reaaally downtempo, but ends up throwing 155bpm kick drums at you, so better watch out, all you k-hole ravers! Let’s not forget to talk about „bquiet“, which is what you’d call mid-tempo house these days (125bpm) and uses the eternally banging combination of a jacking beat, a polyrhythmic bass line, some lead-synth stabs and talking vocal slices. You can practically smell the sweat.

So what’s left to say? What you see is what you get: They are Zillas, and they are on Acid. And they provide a collection of eight tunes that probably each don’t necessarily have a double-digit amount of tracks in their DAW projects, and that’s exactly what makes them so forceful.

A music compilation for Valencia to raise funds for victims of the devastating floods that hit the Spanish city in early November.

“Amor i Ritme” is the music of solidarity: 27 artists united in a single beat. A release that travels through different sounds and styles from ambient and house to industrial EBM, techno and acid in solidarity with one of the most emblematic places of the electronic music scene in Spain.

All proceeds will be split 50/50 between two charities who are helping to raise money for those affected and to rebuild communities that have been devastated: Aldis Paiporta, which helps people with disabilities who have lost everything, and the Horta SuD Foundation, which works with civil society to stimulate and strengthen the social fabric in the Valencian Community, with special attention given to programmes developed in the region of Horta Sud (Valencia).

We would like to give special thanks to each of the artists who have joined the initiative and to those who have not been able to but have supported us.

We are pleased to present our 45th release, this time by Italian producer Treasure Island. On the imprint’s latest, Oath takes the vibrations right up into the slipstreams via Elfenberg’s latest slice of proggy, euphoria driven excellence….

Elfenberg has become a well known figure within dance music spheres for his expertly crafted and otherworldly chuggy sound. Taking cues from a wide variety of influences, Elfenberg’s music slots in very nicely within the most celebrated of trance laden progressive house and techno - with his signature twist always allowing for a few surprises along the way. Each release he has brought to the fore has provided another string to his impressive bow, fuelling the dance and the emotions with delicate, poised techniques. As much as his tunes are dance floor orientated, his sound has a subtly and deftness to it, an enchanted rhythmic and melodic blend that gives over so much to the listener. His sound ensnares the senses, providing moments to get lost within and moments in which to let yourself go - a music universe that has always remained acutely blended and emotionally poised.

‘Ritmo Paradiso’ contains all of Elfenberg’s signature motifs, but as always it's an EP which spreads itself sonically wide but presents a soundscape which is razor sharp in its focus. The title track swings into view with a deep, pulsating bass and drum loop, which shifts frequency to draw focus to the high hat that slides into the mid section. Acidic flavourings wash over the top of the groove, with the core melodic driver emerging from the mid range. Percussive elements add texture and forward momentum, with slowly evolving pads creating a gentle yet expansive backdrop. ‘Vasastan’ comes next, and this one seeks a different kind of feeling. A spaced out, IDM leaning rhythm provides the basis for a lucid acid line to permeate from side to side. The stage is set for all manner of wondrous melodic features to present themselves, from the flowery keys through to the swelling synths, it's an audial whirlpool in which to get lost over and over again.

Varhat then gives his spin on the title track, which draws focus to a variety of core elements of the original. The acid notions and bass line become ever so slightly more fluid, washing over the ever evolving drums with purpose and presence. The progression is something to behold, with particular attention paid to the frequencies and shifts in density. ’Styggforsen’ lands next, and once again the rhythmic section gets things going. The acid line provides the core focus, revolving around the kicks as shifts in scale and scope help propel the track forwards. The delicate keys and pads add a lot of variety up top, and as things flow onwards it's an immersion that could last a lifetime.

’Thank You For Your Patience’ comes next, and this one shifts the tempo up a notch. Spacious, large scale rhythms provide the basis for swinging melodic elements to cater across, with the breaks that land just before the minute mark providing a real jolt of energy. The rolling bassline cuts like butter though the bottom end, with the breakdowns providing some compelling listening. To wrap things up, Abdul Raeva put their twist on ’Styggforsen’, which lays out one final slab of proggy goodness for us all. Swirling synths and acid notes, pumped up drops and rock solid rhythmic sections - what is there not to love about this remix? an ender any EP would be proud of.

It seems with every Elfenberg record, there’s a journey to be undertaken and a tale to be enjoyed, and this one is no different. From the word go, the rhythms are intoxicating, the melodies are otherworldly, and the overall sensation is one of progressive excellence. Always on the move, eager to showcase more, it's a truly tantalising experience - and one that Oath is beyond thrilled to present…

40 Thieves are back on Roam Recordings, teaming up with vocalist Alona to release their latest cosmic disco gem, 'Shake You Off'. Fans of the trio (Layne Fox, Corey Black, and Jay Williams) might recognize them from the dancefloor classic 'Don't Turn it Off (I Think I Like It)', their eclectic album 'The Sky is Yours', or their previous Roam hit 'Take Me I'm Yours'.

This new single delivers a dancefloor-ready track featuring Alona's vocals layered over lush electronic melodies.

The release also features two standout remixes from Roam Recordings alumni Shubostar and label boss Jason Peters. Shubostar kicks things off, maintaining the warm, inviting vibe while introducing a dash of Italo disco flair. Label founder Jason Peters takes a different approach, stripping down the original to create a deep, pulsating, heavy version. Rounding out the release are an instrumental and radio-friendly edit of the original track.

This project has strong San Francisco roots, and we couldn't be more excited to collaborate with our Bay Area family on this release. But beyond our personal ties, we truly believe this record is something special.

INCOMING : Inch of Shadow & La Groove Machine - The Alchimist Ritual #AcidDiscos

It’s that time of the year again: Labels and artists are delivering their last parcels, filled with darkness-meets-groovy delicacies for our delight. Paisley Dark, for instance, presents “Shimmering Lights”, a superb single by Ben Hunt adorned with a super pack of remixes. On board: Mindbender (BANDCAMP003), Cosmikuro, A Space Age Freak Out (SXDNS123), Rude Audio, Keith Forrester, and Airsine came up with outstanding interpretations, resulting in a kaleidoscopical collection of soundscapes.

About the original, the Brighton-based DJ, producer, AND filmmaker stated he “aimed to make an old-school electronic track in the style of The Chemical Brothers and Underworld, but with some current production techniques.” And he succeeded! Listening to “Shimmering Lights” triggers happy memories from the time the aforementioned references were the kings of the dance floor. That’s something around twenty-five years ago we are talking about.

Premiered here, Keith Forrester’s revision manages to take the theme to the acid realm without losing the essence of Ben’s concoction. The Mancunian artist might have added a little bit more Chemical Brothers to the recipe, though, by pouring some extra distorted synth leads and lively FXs, which brought more clout to the affair. Hey, drive boy, we liked it!

Nothing Is Real is happy to welcome on board for the release number 31, the Italian masters Materia Prima with a three track EP.

The main track ‘Embryo’ is a moody and muscular take on electroclash that gradually builds tension and suspense throughout its six-minute duration. The track is followed up soon after with the second track ‘Silky’, bringing vocoder vocal parts to the foreground while decorating the track with groovy percussions, rolling bass-lines and distorted synth melodies. 

The EP’s third track ‘Venus Ramp’ demonstrates Materia Prima’s experimental spirit. This is a truly original and mesmerizingly unique piece of electronic music, and proves that the producers have more than a few tricks up their sleeve.
