Wolfer & the Dove (feat. Murphi Field) [Simple Symmetry Remix]

Tel Aviv super group @megaphonim are bringing their off-kilter energy to Feines Tier in form of their new „Namal Ashdod“ EP with four original tracks and hell of a @simple-symmetry remix. Even though they’re all quite unique on their own, what unites the tracks is the combination of raw beats and vocals with an oddly catchy pop approach to the writing of the music. Be it in the aptly titled „After of Disaster“ with its let-loose energy, the slow-rolling „Lo Titfos Oti“, which could have been picked from an Andrew Weatherall (RIP) dj-set, or the title track with its break-beats and its unforeseeable left-turns, there’s always this playful and off-the-wall energy keeping the ball going and bouncing. And let’s not forget about the remix! Endlessly rising duo Simple Symmetry do what they have become known for very well here: Deliver an insanely groovy and relentless weapon of a track, guaranteed to blow the roof of every club, festival floor or after, however disastrous it might be. Japanese artist Gem Wallow makes her debut on Playground Records with her very first solo Ep 鼓動 KODOU.

A solid piece of art composed by three songs coming from nature and its elements. An Ep that crosses different soundscapes like ancient haikus cross generations. Full of life and organicity, groove and fluidity. Making the debut release on their new label, Powder Music, Made in TLV drop ‘Rehab’ with remix support from Simple Symmetry & Xen, and Rina.

Powder music is a new imprint from Israeli duo Liraz Levinson
and Aviv Bens (Made in TLV). Breaking on to the scene in 2017 with a series of incendiary releases, they were quickly snapped up by Asymmetric, Keinemusik and Blue Shadow. Now bedded into the fabric of the Tel Aviv elite, they travel the world with their unique sound.

‘Rehab’ is a rubbery mid set chugger with bags of personality. An acidic bass takes the lead from bar one growing organically into an infectious groove aimed squarely at the cooler floors. On remix duties, Simple Symmetry and Xen drop the tempo to envision a dark, druggy dub version that swells with e-moments, while Rina delves into harrowing soundscape-y minimalism.

Kadosh is deeply rooted in the underground scene, playing everywhere from Fabric to Watergate to Blue Marlin in Ibiza. His organic, spellbinding take on house is rich in emotion and has come on labels like Innervisions, Live At Robert Johnson, and his own well-regarded Frau Blau imprint. Adding another label debut to his extensive back catalogue, Kadosh arrives on Human By Default for the 'Amoladore' EP, backed by accomplished sibling duo Simple Symmetry on remix duties.

Title track ‘Amoladore’ opens with lush, acoustic beats and gleaming pads featuring vocals from São Paulo-born singer and a regular Red Axes collaborator, Abrão, that bring a sense of serenity amongst the supple grooves. The sublime ‘Paradise Lost’ showcases another spine-tingling melodic sound with well-crafted chords over rolling drums that make for a meditative aura. Lastly, Simple Symmetry step out to remix ‘Paradise Lost’, flipping it into a cosmic excursion with pulsing synth sequences, bold bass strokes and a sense of constant intrigue that will keep the floor locked in for a thrilling ride.

Dark Entries is honored to release a 4-track EP by Red Axes, the prolific production duo of Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi from Tel Aviv. The pair were raised on a diet of post-punk, new-wave, and Italo-disco at fogged out warehouse and basement parties. Their own productions and remixes have appeared on labels such as I'm a Cliche, Correspondant, and Hivern Discs. 'Nyx Tape' features two new compositions backed with two edits from our catalog. First up is the slick electro anthem "5 Min" another collaboration with French-Canadian born singer Chloe Raunet aka C.A.R. Followed by "Nyx Tape" featuring charismatic singer-lyricist Gina Kikoine aka Gina X, who reached out after hearing their remix of her classic single "No GDM" that was a huge anthem on the Tel Aviv 80s underground scene. The track is an ecstatic dance to the rhythm in the darkness with Gina's ice cold Teutonic spoken word taking creative inspiration from the Jewish Mourners' Prayer - The Kaddish. On the B-side "Destination Moon" by Solid Space from 1982 has been given a dancefloor makeover with moody synths and a haunting guitar line reminiscent of an Adrian Sherwood dub. Closing this EP is a hypnotic edit of "La Machine a Rever" by French bedroom synth freaks X-Ray Pop from 1984 slowed down to a 4/4 groove that takes the original to outer space and back. All songs have been mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The EP is housed in a custom made jacket that features an original collage by Eloise Leigh representing Nyx, the Greek goddess of the night. Each copy included a postcard with notes and lyrics.

[RED AXES]
Red Axes is a project created by Tel-Aviv based producers and DJs Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi. The duo has been performing together since a long time, first as members of the new wave / post punk band Red Cotton.
After living in Amsterdam and traveling in Europe, the guys returned to Tel-Aviv and began an underground psychedelic electronic party series called "Break It!" which brought refreshing energy into the Tel Aviv scene . In 2009, they established a new vision and concept for all of their artistic endeavors - focusing on house, disco and techno. Several Red Axes EPs came out between 2009 and 2011.
At 2012 they released “Tour de Chile” EP on I’m a Cliché and another EP on the same label - “1970”, in addition to remixes and original tracks for La Belle or Clouded Vision and Days of being wild.
2013 continued with "Silver bed" Ep at I’m a Cliché and "Caminho De Dreyfus" Ep on Correspondant along side remixes for labels such as Kill the Dj and Throne of blood .
Their work in editing masterpieces and live-recordings helped them push their boundaries both as DJs and as producers.
More to come this year is a track for the Treasure hunting compilation at Astro lab recordings and a remix for the classic Gina x song - No GDM on Relish recordings. Playing in Tokyo and all over europe from summer 2012 is a step further towards transcontinental recognition.

Fugitiv - Compoforest

Having lost his eyes, ears, nose and mouth it was apparent that he needed to do something quickly. After all he was about to go on a date with that girl he swiped right with on Tinder  (Other dating apps are available) and he was getting on with her really well,  they'd even exchanged the sort of pictures that you wouldn't show your own mother. But this was a crisis. He was meeting her in just over an hour and he looked nothing like he did in the profile picture as all his facial features had just faded into what looked like a skin coloured balloon. It's a good job that there was a shop selling replacement parts nearby.  That shop was called Local Face.
The lower sky crumbles, the upper sky growls but the Middle Sky Booms...  and it is Middle Sy Boom, calling on Moshe Abutbul and Shahar Hatch to add a smidge of organic life to this metal machine music and handing over the stems to Ghost Form.  This slowed down analogue jam is well worth your time with the Alvaro Cabana seal of approval this is up there with the best of Rotten City Records... and even if the drop in the second half does melt those pretty little facial features, don't worry, you are never too far from a Local Face.

Next up on Calypso Records is Aristidez, who has emerged as an important figure in his hometown of Lima with the Casalocasa parties which he has run since 2012, and has used to bring the likes of Hunee, Matias Aguayo and Kim Ann Foxman to the city. Having previously released on labels including Disque Discos and Discos Aquelarre, Aristidez's brand new 'Evasivas Esotericas' EP takes the listener on a journey dipped in Peruvian culture through the streets of Lima.

We're very happy to be premiering a remix of lead track 'Nada Nada' by Russian duo Simple Symmetry who've previously released on Disco Halal. Mysteriously titled the 'What Happens After Death' remix, it ups the tempo with frenzied vocals and clattering drums.

Years of sweating in garage bands evidently prepared the Lipsky brothers to break boundaries in commercial club culture with a sound that somehow evokes the essence of psych-rock while never sounding out of place alongside certified technoid bangers.

Their musical breadth as producers speaks to their talent as DJs, with a deep passion for record digging that again conveys very specific sensibilities – a love for the exotic, the yearning for transcendence, as well as the rough rebellious energy of punk. They produce dance music from the margins, full of with narrative, melody, and drama. It’s intense, in a good way.* 

Their affiliations to broad-spectrum labels like Multi Culti, Disco Halal and Correspondant might paint some picture of their range, and their stellar remixes for artists like Nicola Cruz, Adam Port, Autarkic and Polo & Pan may have earned them lots of plays,  but their debut LP ‘Sorry, We Did Something Wrong’ is undoubtedly their most ambitious and elaborate statement to date. Drenched in their influences, rich in collabs with a range of artists like Sepultura’s Igor Cavalera and C.A.R., the record is at once ambitious and, as the title suggests, apologetic. Their capacity for embracing these polarities, a radical boldness tempered by self-consciousness, it may divide the audience, but it shows unmistakable personality.

This year, Simple Symmetry start a new chapter both in music and life after fleeing their native Russia, they returned to Multi Culti with an epic, mournful EP called “Problem,” featuring a huge remix by long-time compatriots Red Axes. Another huge edit for CULTED is on deck, as well as a peak-time rework of Drugface, following up on their massive mix of ‘In the Clouds.’
