@la-mverte releases his new EP 'Alchemy Calls' and simultaneously inaugurates his recently founded label Les Enfers, of which this record is the first release. 

With 'Alchemy Calls', La Mverte once again pushes the door of the club that have been closed for too long. Composed of three tracks and enriched with two remixes, the record proposes a
progression in three phases, following the alchemical process at the base of the Great Work (GW) and the quest for the philosopher's stone. A true cathartic experience in the time of crisis, the production of the EP was therapeutic, an unexpected way to find the club and night atmospheres that were so much missed. On 'Nigredo', La Mverte summons certain codes of Detroit electro and explores them through the prism of his influences and his machines. He invites Jean-Christophe Couderc from the band Vox Low on vocals, who tackles the Blackness, the first stage of the GW, but also the confrontation with one's own demons as theorized by Carl Jung.

The tracks of the EP are also offered 2 remixes. @javi-redondo, a regular on the Correspondant and Dischi Autunno labels, offers a fundamentally club and motoric re-reading of 'Nigredo', and Aggelos Baltas, alias Anatolian Weapons, delivers a version of 'Albedo' tinged with slowed-down Ttrance, as one might hear in a set by Vladimir Ivkovic of the Salon des Amateurs.

Australian producer Kate Stein brings her mesmerising sounds to TAU with the Death Stocked EP, her debut with us. Currently based between New York City and Los Angeles, Kate merges a variety of styles to produce captivating cuts that embody the ethos of dance floor liberation and self-expression. A confident performer who has appeared at House of Yes, Mayan Warrior and Cityfox Experience at Brooklyn Mirage, among many other notorious spots, Kate is also carving out her own lane with her productions. On Death Stocked we get two original cuts, with a bumper selection of reworks...

The EP kicks off with scintillating energy, as 'Dome Brain' lures us into Kate's sonic web. Pulsating disco noir rhythms combine with pumping beats and a cacoph- ony of rousing effects and triggers, to create a stirring atmosphere. Twisted acid disco for the dance floor diehards.

Next up, Curses steps in with two remixes. The first, 'Metallic Dub', ramps up the potency of the beats in conjunction with a raucous low end. A sweet riff takes centre stage as the track progresses, Curses shrouding the original with his dark wave aesthetic. This is followed by the 'Spectre In the Dance Remix', where he opts for a more sombre interpretation.

The title cut 'Death Stocked' works off an undulating low end, throbbing and juddering, while crisp claps and shakers act as a catalyst for involuntary body move- ment. Kate creates an immersive atmosphere juxtaposing a bright melody with the morose bassline. As the track reaches its conclusion more elements are added to increase its uplifting appeal, taking you the highest heights.

Zombies In Miami roll out the first rework, taking it into more menacing territory. An insistent riff is complemented by layers of melancholy synth and mournful melody, amplifying the track's emotive impact.

Finally, Leonor closes out the release with his spinetingling rework. Taking the uplifting melody from the original, he takes us on an expedition to a higher vibra- tional field, where good vibes and positive energy are ubiquitous.

Melómana opens the year with a compilation that brings together producers who have marked and defined the musical orientation of the label. Its reference 039 is not only a testimony of long-term work, it is also the announcement of what is to come this year 2024.

The compilation brings together songs by artists such as Panka Panka, Azaria, Yahaira, JGR, Jackwasfaster, Ludviq, Nick Hanzo, Macaulay, Mijo, Pastor in Vegas, Rubinskee, Ademarr, Joseeph. Established talents on the scene, as well as emerging projects, offering an approach as designed for the track as it is for home listening. Altogether, we find fused rhythms and rich soundscapes that lead us to an exploration as fluid as it is captivating. The album offers us a dynamic contrast that shows the versatility of a timeless project, created from talent, meticulousness and sonic coherence.The level of production of these guys is intense but, on the other hand, the care of the sounds they release is at the level of those who do things because they want and with the time they really need. The tracks have strength and jump over the prevailing conventions, knowing how to avoid the most recurrent rawness and darkness, seeking dance but without predictable tricks and without exceeding an understandable level of experimentation suitable for the dance floor.

We could say that each producer summarizes their intentions in this compilation, seeking novelty without losing nostalgia, that they play with the genre but without falling into predictable tricks, nor into the arrogance of those who get wrapped up in a genre or mannerism to demonstrate that They have personality. And this is just the beginning, because this year Melómana is going to bring us many surprises.

The latest addition of Roam Recordings offers three stunning remixes of Berlin based 80s New Wave inspired band Pardon Moi. Following the success of their singles “Addiction” on Emerald & Doreen Recordings and “Inside the Outside” on Nein (which has been featured on BBC Radio) the Berlin duo Pardon Moi consisting of Thomas Freudenthal and James Brook have penned the evocative “Power to the People” along with “Touch2Much” which have been released in original form on 7” vinyl from Hoga Records. In the “Power to the People Remixes” EP, Roam Recordings has gathered together a dream team of top remixers - Damon Jee, Markus Gibb, and Curses - who each put their own spin on the originals. Damon Jee starts it out with an an energetic and anthemic version of Power to the People that’s sure to get people on their feet. Markus Gibb moves Power to the People into slightly darker and heavier territory with exquisite production that has become his trademark. Switching gears, Curses takes on Touch2Much and keeps the 80s vibe alive with a stylish upbeat dub that’s both quirky and fun.

All three of these remixes come together in an action packed trio of tracks that will surely be a go to when looking to get the dance floor movin’.

Bryan Kessler has made a point of not toeing the line in terms of the sometimes mono-thematic world of electronic dance music. Hailing from Cologne, Kessler started his musical life as a lead singer in an indie band, before discovering the pleasures of the dancefoor for himself. Having released a number of superb tracks on Comeme, Numbers and Get Physical, he now drops a killer 5 tracker on hafendisko.
The new EP is also the fourth volume in the Sisters & Brothers series, curated by Sexy Lazer and Kasper Bjørke. ‘No Go-Go’ also has a grimey, rock swing to its electronics, with a swung, jagged bassline and crisp,  ring percussion. Kessler adds his unique vocals late in the track, heavily treated and moducalted for maximum effect.

The seventh volume of Drumcode’s annual A-Sides compilation hits with no less than 10 debuts for the label, with Charlotte de Witte, ANNA, B.Traits and Scuba’s SCB project, among the collection of topline artists to release their maiden productions on the imprint. 

Over two decades into its lifespan, Drumcode keeps evolving and excelling, pushing techno forward while remaining wholly respectful of its roots. This reputation for progression was further fueled this summer with its inaugural festival at the NDSM Docklands in Amsterdam, featuring a long list of heavyweights including Nicole Moudaber, Joseph Capriati, Amelie Lens and Ida Engberg, among others. 

As ever, the A-Sides compilation provides a timely opportunity to showcase the full range of its sonic repertoire, with Adam Beyer scrupulously selecting 22 unreleased tracks that have taken prime position in his sets over recent months. 

Outstanding all-round talent ANNA kicks off the compilation with ‘Portable Paradise’, a pulsating cut that sets the tone for the top-shelf club cuts to follow. Also entering the debut field with their first ever Drumcode dalliances are B.Traits and Charlotte de Witte. The esteemed Canadian selector offers up ‘I Feel The Music’, a euphonic track that’s been sought after since spring, and the Belgian ballista unlocks a thick-edged club bomb in ‘Remember.’

Leaders of Drumcode’s new brigade, exciting Brazilian Wehbba and British techno alchemist Boxia set out to impress. Wehbba’s straight-talking ‘Just’ hits with an immediate sense of urgency before neck-snap claps strike with force, and Boxia’s ‘Final Call’ elicits physical engagement with mellifluous vocals and soaring pads. 

Continuously looking to bolster the profiles of emerging talent, Berlin-based producers Weska and Juliet Fox are brought into the fold with equally engaging razor-sharp tracks that are primed to do lasting damage. 

Other notable highlights include an exhilarating workout from Reset Robot - the most released artist on Beyer’s imprint Truesoul – as he lands on Drumcode for the first time. And tastemaker’s favourite Jel Ford makes a welcome return as he ushers in techno rhythms with bustling breaks in ‘Nightshade.’

Elsewhere, support from label mainstays comes in from Bart Skils, who offers a work of consummate skill in ‘West Of The Moon.’ Alan Fitzpatrick, who’s been heavily featured across the A-Side series, joins forces with Scuba as he operates as his uncompromising alias SCB. The result is a propulsive floor-gripper that testifies to their masterful deftness as co-producers. Formidable duos Dense & Pika and Pig&Dan also contribute with powerful compositions.

Rumba Bisnes Music latest release is 'Brujeria', an EP from Alberto Gomez aka Disconnected from Culiacan, Mexico. Disconnected offers a raw track with chilling chords that pass from one end of the brain to the other, mixing musical experiences, textures and rhythms.
The release is completed with remixes from Cabizbajo and Zombies in Miami - these are producers who have moved from strength to strength over the last few years. Zombies' remix is nostalgic and develops on the musical textures of the original in some unexplored ways.
