Ombra International continues the legacy of inviting artists each from a different country, to share their mutual love for the wave and acid tinged spectrum of dark club music.

Finnish- Berlin -based OBI BLANCHE makes his Ombra INTL Debut with a powerful kraut-punk acid tinged jam channeling his roots in the guitar and fringe electronic scenes as a staple member for years in the Anika band, as well as Thomas Azier.

From Palawan was partly produced in the heart of the Loatian mountains, with samples found during Mura Mura‘s last roadtrip in South East Asia. Back in Lyon, his moog and his guitar we do the rest.“

French Dark Italo-tech prince, BACK FROM THE WAVE conjures an emotional ride for the strobe filled dance floors and Tokyo‘s prolific QUE SAKAMOTO joins forces with his friend NT to bring us a sludged out electro banger. Lyon‘s MURA MURA makes his Ombra debut as well, takes us on a slow and funky hypnotic journey with a song composed in the Loatian Mountains with samples from his last trip in South East Asia. Last but not least, the mysterious Naples-based Dark Wave screamo band bring a 136 bpm post punk infused anthem for the end of days.

This is maybe one of the most diverse releases yet own the label, which makes me absolutely ecstatic to finally share it with you. - Curses

Que Sakamoto & NT - Wakaranai [Ombra International]

Things had changed significantly when he reached home. The surroundings seemed unrecognisable; the buildings, the streets, the family run businesses — regeneration and gentrification had grasped the town with both hands and stolen its memories. How could just a few years make such a difference? Change was inevitable but this level of unfamiliarity left a sour taste in his mouth. What once belonged to him and every other inhabitant of this community had been snatched away.

Hot on the heels of their EP with Ninja Exotic Machine and Yeho, Bergamo imprint Pho Bho draft in six producers for a various artist release. 'Inverted Echoes' captures different strains of music for the dance floor, from bass-driven excursions to cosmic rhythms and downtempo cuts. Our pick from Lithuania-based Russian Pletnev, AKA Ponty Mython, closes out the A-side and flaunts his singular take on sequenced math beat laced with his deadpan vocals.

The metal body of the plane shook as it hurtled down the runway, and a deafening rumble drowned out all other noise, he felt the pressure on his torso as the speed pushed him back into his seat. He’d never got used to flying, even though he had to do it regularly, he thought it was strange to become accustomed to something that felt so extraordinarily terrifying. But all of these thoughts faded away as the plane ascended into the night sky. He peered out the tiny window as the ground moved further away, and the lights that kept the city illuminated transformed into an abstract formation of glowing grids and lines. He thought it wouldn’t be long till he was back in Belgrade, and all the feelings of terror seemed worth it. 

MR TC’s ‘20/44’ comes from a compilation presented by Orchid-AM, an artist management agency based in Manchester. For Unity Orchid has asked some of the artists on their roster to come up with new music within seven days, and considering the impact that the pandemic has had on the live music industry, each artist has dedicated their track to a club that they hold close to their heart, and all the sales will be shared equally between the artists and the clubs. This particular track is a downtempo electro affair, with classic drum machine sounds, droning synths and gated vocals. The club it borrows its name from is a small club in a boat moored on the Sava river in Belgrade, dancers know it for its special views of the morning sun.

Amplio Espectro is a Buenos Aires-based label curated by Carolina Stegmayer and Ismael Pinkler, whose entanglement of their names and personal/professional lives gave birth to the duo Carisma. They successfully amassed a true international dream team of collaborators for their forthcoming release: Cornelius Doctor (France), Andrea Paz (Chile), Bryan Kessler (Germany), Aristidez (Peru), Kodemul (Mexico) and Kamila Govorcin (Chile), each one of them taking us on a remix trip adding their hyper-personal touches to two Carisma's tracks: “En tus Sueños” and “Fracciones”.

The track we chose to premiere brings Aristidez delivering a trippy and groovy interpretation of “Fracciones”. The Peruvian artist, who rocked the world with his 2018 release on the almighty Calypso Records, flirts this time with percussive breakbeats and melodic synth layers, providing a cosmic atmosphere, but with his traditional Latin sonority. The result: A curious concoction that enriches the release of the charismatic Argentinian duo.
