PREMIERE – Alvaro Cabana Feat. Snem K – Amor Salvaje (Paulor Remix) (Roam Recordings)

‘Muy Duro’ flagship V/A series returns this year with his volumen 6, music from new and old souls around the world. Le Dame Noir’s Arthur Johnson give you the entrance ticket with "31SPCIAL", a locomotive ride loaded with a bouncy bass, steady percussions and sharp cymbals that drive you to the peak. It is followed by Cornelius Doctor’s "Zsa Zsa Can't Don't Cry", a metallic and playful percussion with a mix of unhinged and liberating synthesizers.

Changing the semblance are ID_UA & Berny with "Tutta La Notte", a broken beat cut. Its hypnotizing synths will make you descend into the deepest and sweltering of the night, the point where you never want to see the sunlight again. Colossio's "Regios", is the perfect soundtrack to transport you to the multidimensional plane where you don't know if there will be a return accompanied by wild and nutty gnomes or your entrance to the psychiatric. Guitar and synthesizer riffs that when entering the center of your head hypnotize you, distorting your neurons and reality.

To close the compilation is Alvaro Cabana’s "Adventures Under The Dome", ironically inspired by all the theories that circulate today about the "dome" that covers the flat earth. A mix of sounds that could be defined as Robot Disco and Trippy Bleepy Fun, alluding to the fact that no matter if the earth is round, square or an infinite multidimensional plane, we could choose to go through this life with the intention of not stopping to have adventures and positive experiences.

One of the most promising Argentinian talents lands for the first time on the accomplished Spanish label Espacio Cielo. Emmanuel Poulper (SXDNS146) has been having a busy year not only as a producer but also as an event promoter and a curator of the rising Quixotical Records. His “Fantasy” EP, through the combination of Latin, Indie, Dark, and Progressive elements, showcases his eclectic sonority and ratifies the enormous creativity of the virtuoso hermano. The sophisticated remixes provided by Moo Moonster (SXDNS054) and Parissior (SXDNS206) plus a collaboration with Tots, Logia Records kingpin, helped to turn “Fantasy” into one of the most interesting releases of the month in the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco genres.

Based on Poulper’s philosophy of always going forward, no matter what happens, “Yendo” is a track with a story. It was made in Argentina before the pandemic and expresses the feeling of a young artist, obsessed with his career and determined to make his dreams come true, regardless of the chaos we were then about to immerse in.

Respecting the attitude of the original, Madrid-based Moo Moonster provided a hellish interpretation, bringing his own aspirations to the theme and delivering a retro-infused and less dirty version with a Synthwave-meets-Hi-NRG atmosphere. In our humble opinion, a striking peak-time beast, peeps!

For nearly three decades, Berlin-based KIKI has been a fixture on the city’s pulsating nightlife scene, gracing venues such as Watergate, Berghain/Panorama Bar and holding a residency at Tresor. With a knack for remixes and productions coveted by labels such as BPitch Control and Pets Recordings, he was also the first artist to release on Damian Lazarus’ revered Crosstown Rebels, collaborating with Silver Surfer on ‘Sleeza’. “Alessio sent me an idea of a track to work on that had a working title: "Body Of Lies". My HI (Humanly Intelligence) had an immediate result from the prompt as a vision of a devil on my right and an angel on my left shoulder making their attempts to draw my attention to each side, but only creating paranoia. The text and the recording happened in about 15 minutes. I felt like a possessed corpse banging the 80's lazer drums in a trance. I hope you enjoy the trip."- KIKI.

“I wrote the lyrics to "Myths of the Mind" during a stream of consciousness poetry experiment. I listened to the instrumental sent to me by Drown, and sketched out a mental landscape that incorporated many impressions, emotions and memories. I drew on experiences such as going to live shows, reading works by Joseph Campbell, as well as exploring my ancestry and connections to places where I had lived. Fragments of these explorations made it into the final lyrics that you hear in this song. It is my hope that people on the dancefloor connect to this piece within their own subconscious minds, and travel to a dreamlike, peaceful world, if only for a few moments.” - Quilla.

Kicking off the release with a commanding presence, ‘Don’t Follow Me’ ramps up tension with escalating builds, sonic synth stabs, and Kiki’s whispered vocals blending seamlessly over a darkly hypnotic beat. Next, Quilla’s soft and alluring vocals take the spotlight in ‘Myths Of The Mind’ as the track builds with intricate percussive elements that captivate the senses, while the Dub mix explores a darker direction with spiralling electronics and a heady bassline.

Last spotted on the inaugural ‘Muy Duro’ volume, Russian duo Wolfstream jump aboard Theus Mago’s unstoppable Duro vehicle with their first full EP for the labe. And they’re taking full navigational controls.
‘Khoomei’ sets the parameters. A widescreen slab of lolloping percussive dark disco characterised by the unique Mongolian throat singing it takes its name from, there’s a state of transcendence as we lock tighter and tighter to the loose-flowing groove.
The same can be said for ‘From Z To Ulu’. Once again bringing human voices to the rhythmic table, there’s a palpable soul coded deep into late night synthetic groove. Best compared to Black Strobe at their peak, there’s a deep 3am mischief that’s amplified consummately by Hanzo & Yaman on their remix.
Complete with a synth bass slapping remix of ‘Khoomei’ from the Duro boss Theus himself, we conclude with ‘Avacha Bay Hunters’. A tempestuous rolling slice of percussive hypnotica, the explorative theme persists right through to the very finale. Taking its name and spirit from the furthest Russian outpost, right on the nose of the Pacific ocean, once again Wolfstream take us to places we’ve never knew existed in more ways than one. Buen viaje.

Factor City is proud to introduce their new signing, Córdoba (Spain) based Durand, and present his new EP, “Exuvia”. Three original tracks followed by a Cabizbajo remix.

Durand has been connected to electronic music from a very young age, developing an extensive career as a dj and club promoter and owner before starting to produce his own music only a couple of years ago. In this time he has already released two excellent eps on Nein records and one on Esthetique, played by the likes of The Hacker, Ivan Smagghe or Curses.

For his debut on Factor City he delivers three slices of cosmic dark disco, with powerful modulating basslines, sleazy synth lines and infectious rythms and percussion. Timeless club music with different influences fused to dance and feel the trip at the same time.
On remix duties we find Cabizbajo. The mexican producer is in full shape as he shows in his fiery take on “Crisálida”. An stripped down, hypnotic and percutive “PseudoDub” version ready to kill any virus.

Berlin-East Frisian Heindenreich, also known as one half of Leggings, a slow Indie-Dance formation with his partner in crime DJ Cremant, challenges Francophile vocalist ANGST vor GRETA for his Je Palpite EP on Dutch label Sinchi Collective. Beside the original version of Je Palpite, the track comes with remixes from Calypso head honcho Thomas Jackson and Robert Johnson mainstay Chinaski, who finally delivers new material after his collaboration with Curses on Dischi Autunno earlier this year. As expected and as fresh as a tropical fruit Chinaski squeezes the Disco-ish note out of Heidenreich's original and exchanges it with more progressive and heavily hitting electroid essences that turn his version of Je Palpite to a kiwano, an exotic warm composition with an edgy and raw musical backbone.

Relish Compilation VII features tracks and remixes by AHEADACHEADAY, ELIEZER w/ Zillas on Acid and Dangur, M Love, Headman, Mufti feat. Vongold, Franz & Shape and Modular Project.

The Compilation starts off with Alberto de Angeli aka AHEADACHEADAY. A dark slow motion synth laden track with Burundi beat undertones. 
Tel Aviv’s Eliezer collaborated w/ Zillas on Acid on Anna Bella. The vocals are by Isadora. The song is trippy, hypnotic and percussive.
M Love’s Price is his 3rd release on Relish. New World was featured on REPIX. New Wave and Krautrock infused techno for the momentarily absent dancefloors.This time a bit harder and less melodic. Devoleb is a new Headman track. The original idea was to rework an old track, but while working on it something new came out. The track is an example of Post Punk Disco, 808 drummachines and Basslines that reminds one of Motorik retro futurist funk. Crimson is by Eliezer and Dangur with again vocals from Isadora. This version is a bit more uptempo, again with a tribal nearly ethnic feel with guitars and percussion that slide in and out dubbing everything. Mufti feat Vongold contributed already on REPXI. False Guru has a similar  Mexican underground vibe, dark arpeggio synths, driving drums and  mystic vocals by Vongold.
Headman’s Be Loved original version was released in 2011. First remixed by Daniel Avery on the homonymous single. Modular Project remixed the version again and turned it into a high energy dark Giorgio Moroder-esque interpretation keeping loads of sounds and the poppy vocals from the original. Franz & Shape who have been part of Relish since the early days contributed N.u.m.b.. The vocals are by Matt Southall from the UK band Officers. The remix is by Croatian electronica producer Petar Dundov. He added vocoders and gave a nice retro-italo feel to the original version.
