There’s a mystical place in the heart of Rotterdam, oddly tucked in between the corporate buildings. Bright light boards and red velvet carpets, it's a small cinema that still breaths its old-school grandeur. That’s where the Cinerama Adventures project was born, lead by its staff supervisor DJ Overdose. The result are two tracks that go from modern flavored freestyle to sleazy darkroom experiments, both accompanied by the instrumental versions.

Feral Colony is a new imprint dedicated to direct improvised approaches and spontaneity using minimal equipment. The first release is from Chris Mitchell, known for his work on Vanguard Sound, Anunnaki Cartel, Sistrum, Frigio, and Sons of Traders. Here Chris delivers an EP of thick drums with saturated tones and samples. On "Triumph" Chris weaves Afro-Caribbean chants with a growling bassline and synth. Heavy drums and intricate rhythms bring it all together for a slow-tempo stomper.

NOAR - a young collective of enthusiasts in electronic music from Dresden.

Dalmata Daniel presents the sixth instalment of their DDS split series, manifesting a relentless torrent of raw, bumping beats and electric thunderbolts: Kraków-based Olivia brings her otherworldly sequences and hazy reverberations, while hailing from Tel Aviv, Rapha delivers acidic treatments and sinister, menacing tones of a dark, untold future.

Side A opens up with ’Freak’, where Olivia’s swirling synth arpeggios quickly aim to enchant all listeners, tangling up their brainwaves with several layers of wicked, throbbing beats. Continuing her witching hour, ‘Odejdź’ introduces off-kilter pulses, cries and whispers in a dungeon, where no one can find the exit. Echoes tremble and screams get distorted in the dark, moist and uncanny aisles of these non-Euclidean spaces. Hyperbolic and demonic, hypnotic and manic: ‘Odejdź’ puts ashes in our eyes and takes us to places we never thought were possible in this bleak realm of our world.

Flip the record, drop the needle and let side B commence: Rapha opens up with ‘Aggressive Disorder’, a hip hop-infused marching beat with cosmic howls and blasting basslines. Next up, as a gargantuan machinery of steam-fueled engines, ‘Bomber Jacket’ takes a confident, industrial maneuver at demonstrating nasty, scattered pieces of percussive grit, simmering its way to a textured and refined amalgam of rough and frantic pulsations. Closing the split release, ‘Access Point’ elevates the voyage to outer space: fresh and squelchy electro patterns kick in right away with sweet, rumbling lower frequencies, and while you may enjoy the interstellar ride with stardust in your eyes, don’t forget to watch out for potential alien screams and growls behind you in the cabin; they should come as no surprise if DDS06 is the OST to your personal, gruesome, galactic adventure.

An aboslute classic of a house track from Nathan Fake from way back in 2003 - big ups to Nathan for this one!  

I've given it the Broken Chair treatment, keeping the main bass and pad sound whilst adding some breakbeat drums, a subtle chopped up vocal and an eery synth line that takes the track to a new level.

To celebrate its 2nd anniversary, Ola Radio is launching a series of three compilations, bringing together 43 artists with plural aesthetics, like Ola Radio’s musical selection.

« Ola Compile vol.1 - Bande passante » is the first in this three-part series. Its release is scheduled for January 14, 2021 (Ola Radio's anniversary).
The release inaugurates the meeting between several universes in a free creative space where downtempo, dub, techno, leftfield and ambient intersect to form a coherent and nuanced whole. This is the result of 14 artists of multiple influences, from Bordeaux and elsewhere, all driven by the same love and passion for music.

SIMPLE EXPOSITION are Insulaire and Blumm, two members of the long-standing Bordeaux-based French crew tplt, join forces on a new adventure, mixing their various influences to forge a new sound, hopefully crafted for the future. Away from the decks like all of us, they forcefully returned to the coziness of home studio and spent the never-to-be-talked-about-again-year brewing with care the material upon which they could one day return behind the controls of a sound system.

The letters had begun to pile up on the floor, others had been torn open and quickly discarded. Never mind the physical reminders, she'd also watched her inbox slowly fill with unanswered responses; responses that would likely remain unanswered for months to come. After 15 rejections she'd given up believing that anything positive would come from her efforts; her optimism had dwindled, her pride had been hurt and her ego bruised. But deep down she knew she had to persevere — that strength had to be summoned from somewhere.

Following five releases through their netlabel MATERIÁ, Lithuanian music platform whypeopledance officially launch the label under their own name with a release from Jack Carel. Following two decades of producing music, his new EP 'Turn It Up' signals a more disconcerting approach in his output, motivated by the moods and feelings that 2020 brought with it. Through raw grooves, heavy drum patterns and deep, dark atmospheres, Carel shares a sonic declaration to "the act of faith, patience, hope, and the anticipation of a coming revolution" and proves that strength can be found in dark times.

The Why people dance question was asked for the first time in Lithuania back in 2013 but it gained a worldwide echo in its 8 years of existence. Run by @pauliuskamblevicius with the help of @experimentsserial and a network of collaborators, the online electronic music platform and label keeps its heart open for new friends and treasure finds but its filter tight and deep underground.
