Versalife - Shape Shifter EP (dsr-e11)

Julian Fleker is an artist from Argentina, a friend from our origins in the underground of Buenos Aires. Ricardo Ruben's project starting from the name to the artistic side face and composition takes a humorous place, although his musical background is serious. Ricardo Ruben is a character from a song by the 80's rock group Los Twists that carried a share of acid humor. It is then that the name of this Ep is not surprising, nor the way to face a different compositional work, wanting to highlight an idiosyncrasy of personal and local search.
“Sinatra is not dead, Yabran told me” plays with black humor and a story of an Argentine media gate. Yabran was a businessman accused of mafias and corruption that ended in a suicide case where everyone doubted his true death as someones think with Sinatra too. Ricardo Ruben is a drummer and the track is a tremendous banger full of percussions, and acid arpeggios of 303 in staccato where a real drum solo joins playing on top by rolling fills. A song that gallops sideways and that is a traktor pushing pistons like crazy. Weird, jazzy, creepy and bizarre black humor, really irresistible.
“De la cabina a la parrilla” (From the booth to the grill) is another title that plays with the local humor, Ricardo Ruben talks about those Argentine meetings where everything walks around meat and barbecue, and the DJ booth can be set up next to the embers. Diving into that personal identity, his search for sound combines modulations that twist and shoot up and down, hi hats and rides that filter and deform, cowbells in front, gloomy melodies of outof-tune oscillators that give something of a grotesque circus and then come out in synth leads that carry us to an ecstatic trance.
“Sinatra is not dead, Yabran told me” first remix is in charge of Colossio. By slowing it down and adding dirty snares with more cadence, he adds a touch of gloomy sense of humor. Colossio gives it an atmosphere of party music in an abandoned amusement park. That tone of making death funny and filling of skeletons with colors that Mexicans have. Twisted synths simulate monstrous laughter, the modulated bells fill with mystery and intrigue but in the end it all resolves into a charming dance.
Alvaro Cabana and Silicondisco's second remix transform it into a dark bomb for dancefloors. Battery fills that are like whips, shake and sadomasochism. An immense almost techno kick where the acid modulations spill out, giving the track an erotic aesthetic, with a leather shine and a nighttime mood that transports us to a rotten club in Madrid where everything is attitude and exhibitionism.

3 exceptional remixers for an exceptional track. As an introduction to Piscolabis, his 4th album scheduled for spring 2021, Golden Bug presents Variation sur 3 Bancs ft. The Limiñanas, inviting on board three killers from the electro scene : Superpitcher, Pilooski and DESTIINO (Yuksek’s low tempo side project).
« Everything starts with a message Jörg Burger sent me in January 2020, asking me to feature in the Kompakt Velvet Desert Music Vol.2 compilation, an homage to psychedelic music and to the 60/70s acid western universe.

Some days before I was at Apolo and I saw this super cool set by The Limiñanas, I was instantly obsessed and I told myself they would be the perfect choice for this project. After contacting them on Instagram, Variation sur 3 bancs slowly takes shape between Barcelona and Montpellier : Lionel's calm voice, his expressive guitar work and his delirious lyrics were an almost magically pitch-perfect
match to my electronic experiments.

Flattered and happy of all the feedbacks about the original version, I decided to put this song back into the spotlight to announce the release of my next album, Piscolabis, and asking three of my favourite artists to remix it : Superpitcher, Pilooski and Destiino, who, talented as they are, brought Variation sur 3 Bancs to some places I would have never been able to do myself.

Pressed in small quantity (300ex), this is a high class mouth-watering prelude before the arrival of this 4th progeny, Piscolabis.

Johannes Albert, Donald Dust, Rambal Cochet are on board as well as @danielmonaco & @futuristant with their track ‘Surfing’.

The release will be in aid of raising funds for Belarusians who were subjected to repression after the August 9th rigged elections in Belarus.

JIN 03 EP presents a 4 track EP from Osaka's Ground.  True to his unique soul that's reminiscent of a nomad, traversing the planet, befriending kindred spirits found in humans and various environments, this EP presents 4 pieces of unique grooves that ranges from the more euphoric vibe to both daytime & night time of a winter season surrounding a temple. 

On A side "Osakacid" comes in two versions: A1 original version is a slow motion acidic tripper under the winter street of Osaka city lights. Long Flight Version features Mayuko, 1/2 of ambient, electronica duo Synth Sisters. Her soothing melody on synthesizer layered with Ground's goofy acidic flavor compliments perfectly with each other.

B1 turns to the pure creative side of Ground. "Stone Bridge" is based on a local bridge that connects to a temple nearby his country side home outside of Osaka.  Mystic and minimalistically punchy, this cut digs deep into the soulful side of Ground's ever nomadic approach. B2 comes in a complete shock: Ground's longtime friends in Thailand - Mogambo twists up "Stone Bridge" into a psychedelic, GOA fused floor shaker that takes you to an imaginary zone of raving inside the temple late into early morning.
