'Aggelos first approached Lurid Music with the idea for this project a few months ago. We agreed on one condition, that all proceeds be donated to refugee causes, like we did with his Black Sea EP which supported the Syrian refugee crisis. When Russia invaded Ukraine, we decided our focus had to be helping the Ukrainian refugees who were forced to leave their homes in search of safe havens abroad.

We discussed this with most contributors to the project and the consensus was that donations should strictly go to humanitarian groups and not any armament funds. There were also some thoughts about helping conflict-affected peoples in other parts of the world but we decided it was too much to tackle for a relatively small project like this one.

Therefore, donations stemming from the sales of this release will be distributed to the following humanitarian groups currently active in Ukraine or neighboring countries welcoming refugees:

Especial and Giraffi Dog return with 2nd part of their concept EPs of live / studio collaboration.  Digging deep they present Multiverse (Infinite 2), bringing their live showcase to vinyl – the completion of the duality of your innerspace, now unconstrained for outerspace.

The forced hiatus to their live experience hopefully over, the final EP comes in two parts, a real-time live recording, followed by more studio reimagining to close.  To start, 6th Chakra is pure Giraffi Dog.  Featuring Doom Chakra Tapes founder, DJ Deflektorschild, this rough and spacey opener is a breaks-mantra, the third eye open, Ajna flowing intuition, realisation and imagination. Recorded live at the Warning Festival 2022, promoters and label compadres offered the perfect platform to showcase the Dog’s energy as the meeting of MPCs, drum machines, synth, loops, FX and more morphs to present the mind-modulating King OTN as the party set peaks.  

Again cut as a continuous mix, Anagh lifts to DX Metero.  Floating, spinning, ethereal, before piano introduces Starfather, the skyward ending.  Hopeful, melancholy - bywords of Especial on it’s meandering journey.  A long time due but worth the wait, Giraffi Dog beamed live and direct, watch those stars.

A1. Giraffi Dog - 6th Chakra (feat. DJ Deflektorschild)

The sun began to set in the distance, sucking the warmth from the day and leaving a bitter chill in the air. In daylight the landscape was breathtaking but under the veil of darkness everything changed. The hills distorted into new forms, the trees became twisted and contorted, the shapes of the valley morphing and moving as if they were coming to life. The people and animals were different too; it was as though they were under a spell, hypnotised by the glowing moon and the blanket of stars that cascaded overhead.

Terra Magica know their onions. Since launching in spring of 2021, they've served up gem after gem of weirdo club music, welcoming with open arms artists like Rambal Cochet, Poly Chain, Mogwaa and many more to join their psychedelic world. Focusing predominantly on Various Artist releases, their next is more of the same, this time featuring new, unreleased magic from the likes of Tadan, Iro Aka, Moisk and a few nuggets from the label bosses, Mirko Hecktor and Tom Sprenger, individually and under their joint guise Hektisch Sprengen DJs. CLUB TERRAM has got a bit of everything we love: a sprinkle of cosmic goodness, a peppering of acid and some of those Goa trance flavours - very tasty.

PREMIERE: Iro Aka - Deshaper [Terra Magica]

The silence in the room was palpable. They'd run out of words, there was nothing left in the tank. She couldn't bear the tension, how quickly things had turned from perfectly pleasant to sour in just a matter of minutes. His vacant expression gave little away, she'd always found it difficult to read him. She stared at him long and hard, hoping there'd be some sort of tell eventually, but nothing... Her hope had turned to confusion then to anger, what more could she give when he gave her nothing back?

After releasing a handful of EPs under his Count van Delicious alias which focuses on Italo Disco, Bristol-based DJ and producer Cowper is now exploring new musical terrain under his given name. His debut EP, I Can See You, Can You See Me? comes as a self-release and features four slow, dark and hypnotic tracks. There's echoes of trance, industrial, EBM and ambient, all stirred up good and proper to create an atmospheric collection of metallic beats and psychedelic synth cuts.

Odopt and Dolphins have created enchanting and enigmatic pieces for different experiences - whether you're left alone with your deep thoughts or on the contrary trying not to think about anything on a full dance floor. That's the magic of music, in its monologue or dialogue with you, it can answer many of your questions.

Things were different when we started preparing this release and we couldn't imagine what the year 2022 would throw us into, but we still try to remain committed to love, peace and mutual understanding.

Tongue-in-cheek as usual, belleter Niklas Wandt melts up pianos, acid lines and bass heavy breaks as raw material for Die Glocke (The Bell). When the hunchback pours the lead of three decades of rave culture onto your lost souls, it’s too late for shelter.
Fantastic Twins evaporates not just the bell but the whole bell tower into particles of peak time madness for the mental cases.
On the flip Bodyzeit heats up on an even more old schoolish tip with breaks that definitely win the bumper car dancefloor. Very sorry for the spilt drinks, thrown fags, popped pills, ripped shirts and funny faces trying to sing along these german vocoder phrases. Borusiade doing some serious bodywork, shifting gears down in her lowrider manner, modding this burner into a dreamish but deep wee-hour masterride.

PREMIERE : Niklas Wandt - Die Glocke (Fantastic Twins Remix)

Following the partnership between Altrimenti and Quindi for a suite of remixes of Cabaret du Ciel, the two Italian labels collaborate once again to explore three vivid versions of tracks from Woo’s exquisite album "Paradise In Pimlico". 
The verdant, delicate musicality of Woo’s original material offers an abundance of riches for remixers, and the results are true to Altrimenti’s stated purpose to explore and experiment in the fusion of different approaches to electronic music.
On the A side, Joseph Tagliabue offers up a snaking, psychedelically charged
dancefloor vision of ‘Cadenza d’Innocenza’. Milan-based Tagliabue has developed a potent sonic signature across releases for labels like Invisible Inc. and Sound Metaphors before starting his own Blue Sea Studio as an outlet for his expanding work into the field of contemporary soundtracks. That cinematic sensibility comes through in waves on this subtly trance-licked epic - a soaring set piece for the most dramatic of party situations.
On the B side, Leeway opens proceedings with his remix of ‘Even More Notes’. As the founder of Wain Records and the Scram club night, the London-based producer is fostering a culture of leftfield dance music with an organic sensibility. On his interpretation of Woo, he offers up a more experimental, dub-informed strain of 4/4 club rhythms.
Completing the set, Other Lands & Linkwood join forces for their approach to ‘Gold Star’. Other Lands is also known as Fudge Fingas, and alongside Linkwood he helped shape the warm, deeply rooted house sound of seminal label Firecracker Recordings. The duo’s affinity for soulful musicianship and the disco roots of house music comes through in this spiralling, hazy rendition perfectly pitched at moments when a softer, more spiritual approach is needed without losing the guidance of an insistent groove.
Once again the overarching theme on this collection of remixes remains quality - a pursuit of meaningful expression, originality and open-hearted musicality. From the source material to the resulting remixes, the pursuit was a successful one

In Japanese, the word “guru-guru” refers to the state of spinning, whirling.  This state is captured in the work of Japanese artist Hoshina Anniversary, who makes his third appearance on MUSAR with his EP Guru Guru and marks the return of the label after an extended break.

Hoshina’s self-titled brand of ‘watechno’ has appeared on well-loved dance music labels like ESP Institute, Volvox’s Jack Dept and Young Marco’s Safe Trip, alongside MUSAR where he also appeared as Shifting Gears back in 2022; an electronic-jazz-centered moniker.

His Guru Guru EP captures the latest snapshot of Hoshina’s sound and sees him draw from Japanese language as a through-line. The title track is the clearest representation of his ‘watechno’, where he uses Japanese instrumentation on top of a menacing EBM-style march. The track's slowly whirling momentum is the “guru-guru”.

On tracks like “Banri”, which means far away in Japanese, we see new shades to Hoshina’s work as he mixes a Japanese Wadaiko drum groove with acidic elements and piano melodies to make a track of contradictions which pairs roughness with elegance.
Whereas on “Usagi”, Japanese for rabbit, Hoshina fires up the BPM.
Piano melodies remain here but their effect is more drifting and emotive than on “Banri”.
“Kaga” is named after a place in the southernmost part of Ishikawa Prefecture, between Kanazawa City and Fukui City. On this track, Hoshina’s love for jazz comes through and even mirrors the work we heard from him under Shifting Gears.

For our second round of WUB, we've dug deep into the vaults of two old friends from the west. Warning co-founder DJ Normal 4 and day one regular Bufiman, both beloved for their individual work but also legendary for their 2017 collaborative The 5 Elements EP on Aiwo Rec.

Now, two extensive recordings from the same period have been unearthed and finally brought to the light they deserve. While Begleitautomatik takes you on a wild ride through breakbeats, balearic and peak time acid fire, you'll get a deep trip on Das Untere Manual - their very own take on dub techno.
