For the number 13 of the RICHMERCH (@richmerch) series, we invited the duo from Guadalajara, Mexico, Los Fugazzi (@los-fugazzi), to bring to the label something fresh for the dancefloor.

Two trax with a mixture of Electro + Disco Punk with New Beat & EBM are the answer to our request. "Unpunctual" is for the peak hours and "Not The One" for the afterhours.

This couple of hits got a refresh with the remixes from Geerra and Facets.

The "Geerra Mix" for "Unpunctual" turns the track more hypnotic with a little twist.

And the "Facets Remix" turns the track more punk and agressive with a delicate hardcore beat.

Once again, RICHMERCH is changing the rules.

Los Fugazzi - Unpunctual [Richmerch]

'Szaio is the anagrammatic alias of Toronto based Polish Canadian production designer turned musician Zosia Mackenzie.

Her debut album, Obraz (Portrait), initially began as a series of GarageBand sketches created over a month in the attic of her grandmother’s home in Warsaw.

Upon returning to Toronto, Mackenzie and her partner John O’Regan went to work in their home studio, swapping sounds and sequences with their Roland TR-909 and Juno 106, Sequential Circuits Prophet 600, and Soviet-era Formanta Polivoks.

Friends, neighbours, and dub techno pioneers Mark and Matt Thibideau provided additional ear candy, layers of vintage rack effects, and full frequency analog mixdowns for each of the album’s six songs at Repair-Lab Studio. Mastering and cutting was provided by Stefan Betke (aka Pole) at Scape Mastering in Berlin.

Pressed on gold 12″ vinyl and available in limited edition via Amsterdam’s Bordello A Parigi (as well as Mackenzie and O’Regan’s own Joint Account imprint in North America) Obraz represents a new and distinctive chapter in both Polish and Canadian electronic music.'

Muddy Banks Quartet is a peculiar band. Four friends, yes, the friendship in the band is always more important than music. The four friends got lost in a cave in southeastern Brazil. While facing starvation, they made a series of recordings using the stalactites, bones, stones, pieces of wood, and the strings of dead animals. All the recordings were lost in a mysterious magnetic event that affected the city known as the grinding machine. Near the mountain that is supposed to be a landing site for strange objects.\par
In 2024, they had recurrent dreams and decided to remake electronically in all its details the lost series of recordings.\par
The result is Songs of the disaster, a collection of reports from the middle of an ecological disaster where the survivors are exercising their abilities to survive.\par

The album is made to be a catapult for the imagination of what could be the lost recordings, especially after the disaster in Ybyzurock.\par
Bloody Resilient Records presents the band in high-quality digital files. The collection of frequencies ranges from a cave in the Brazilian rainforest to oscillators created under the influence of the ayuasca.\par

Brainchild of Multi Culti A&R, Sascha Funke and Niklas Wandt were introduced by Dreems, who charted a course for the seasoned Berlin-based producer and funky multi-percussionist and singer. 

Wandt was just about to enter the scene forcefully with his collaborative 2LP with Wolf Müller and the debut single of his band Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge. In the icey cold of his warehouse rehearsal space, Funke had him record a variety of slapped, bowed and scratched percussions (congas, talking drum, prepared cymbals played with a bass bow) over his tracks. These first efforts were later expanded into joint sessions at Sascha's home studio and, within a few weeks, the journey reached it’s destination: Wibe strasse, Deutschland.

At first glance, they seem an odd couple: a techno veteran of almost thirty years meets a side-burned upstart socialized in Free Jazz and Krautrock. but the shared sonic influences come through in the hypnotic, dubbed-out sound, perhaps rooted in the close connection the two share to the Rheinland region in West Germany, Funke as part of the Kompakt family and Wandt by origin and socialization in the Cologne and Düsseldorf music scene centered around the Salon des Amateurs. Regional flavours, global appeal. Multi Culti, promoting local collaboration, one freaky record at a time.

'Kometenschweif' will sound the most familiar to fans of Sascha Funke's club-ready tracks, with percussive and vocal flourishes from Niklas Wandt.  'Kreidekreis' takes the tempo down while ramping up the trippiness, a circular journey into funk bass, synth prog, and again, a percussion masterclass. Finally 'Weg Vom Leder' sounds like a lost Falco tune, brought up to date.

On the remix side, Alexander Arpeggio somehow manages to swing 'Kreidekreis' into a digital reggae slowburner, while Whodamanny turns Kometenschweif toward indie-kraut-wave bop.
