Written by Thomas Pietrois-Chabassier, produced with Baptiste Bertrand, the album will include remixes by La Mverte, Joseph Tagliabue, and Zombies in Miami.
The LP follows the release of a first EP, Ce Qui la nuit, including remixes by The Populists and Flemming Dalum.

This EP starts with a collaboration between Tony Y Not (@tony-mukke)and Bonnie Spacey (@bonniespacey) and the desire to do an only women EP. Women have long been at the forefront of pushing the sonic envelope in electronic music. Although not always obvious, we decided to put them in the spotlight in an industry where they are still underrepresented. 

The sounds of the three original tracks by Tony y Not and Bonnie Spacey is in line with the artistic direction of the label: clubby, sexy, dark disco!

Justine Forever and Shubostar were the perfect match for remixes to add a bit of a new wave synth and cosmic vibe to it.

We are proud of the girls and the WOMEN ONLY EP is intended to become a recurring meeting on Critical Monday (@criticalmondayrecords).

Not so long ago, Argentinean Poulper (SXDNS146) and Lithuanian Aurum Miles joined forces to launch the promising label Quixotical Records, an upsurging platform driven by Disco and Techno influences infused with EBM flashes and Electro pieces.

For the forthcoming release of the already respected imprint, they bring you Ludviq, the head of Mexico-based label Bonkers. His "Disease" EP delivers two well-constructed originals and four alluring remixes made with love by Random Atlas (SXDNS155), MAN2.0 (SXDNS081), Chinosynth, and Poulper himself.

The track we were solicited to review/premiere was cooked by beloved-by-all duo Random Atlas. The Chileans based in Berlin took "Disease" to their lab and, using a fine-tuned combination of dark science and black magic, delivered a biting and pungent version. These guys never disappoint, either with their absurd originals or hot collaborations, their output is second to none. Here, for instance, they brought the solid original a more aggressive and menacing mood, filling it with eerie synth FXs and a more robust bassline. Kudos!

New Day Every Day (@newdayeveryday) are releasing a brilliant EP by Tel Aviv-based Lott (@yotam-russo) whose sound can be defined as a psychedelic imprint topped on a structured drum machine rhythm, all mixed with his generous usage of warm percussion and other spices.

Misunderstood Theory is a conflict between Bells and Synthesizers, future and past. All rolling together they deliver an electric image that wishes to take the dancefloor to a future gate to pass through. With random flashbacks and acid lines, in between the channels, Arik Einstein’s voice pops out and contributes to the vibe.

Wrong Button is an unfamiliar disco story, taking the listener on a spaceship to a faraway place. Heavy drums and bass guitar carry tension to the peak of the track that flows naturally... until an accident happens and a wrong button is pressed! which causes a massive explosion to occur, right where the drop comes in.

Nasty Shake is a musical reflection. It transmits the hidden meaning behind a handshake, a vague and foggy intention lies underneath the two participants, not knowing whether it is devious or not... the synth and infinite melodies are here to solve the case.

Despite the challenges and weirdness of the year, boundary-blazing bandoleros Duro (@durolabel) continue to shoot through 2020, all-pistols-blazing. Releases have fired from all corners but one of the strongest themes has been the ‘Muy Duro’ volumes. The Mexican label’s flagship V/A series, each EP digs deep into the dark disco psyche, celebrating the label’s widest sonic outposts and reference points with friends and shared spirits from across the world, old and new. Marking a year of the series, with tracks from Israel to Istanbul, ‘Muy Duro Volume 5’ is certainly no exception.

Veteran cosmic groover Tim Paris makes his long-awaited debut with the slouching funk and broken drum swagger of ‘Better Slightly Unchanged’ before two more collaborations join the party with their Duro debuts, all hailing from Israel; Middle Sky Boom and AckerMan whisk us through the stars on ‘Temp Goes High’ while Rina X Benji pay homage to mind alteration on the electroid bumps and asteroid grinds of ‘Koshmaro’.

Professional belly dancers and long-time friends of Duro Hanzo & Yaman follow with ‘Hokus Pokus’. A springy, playful slab of house music laced with pitched bells and a riser that teases and teases, there’s a late 90s/early 200s mischief to this that, like the label itself, just won’t quit. 

The final word comes from the label bossman Theus Mago (@theusmago) and French brother-in-arms Id!r (@idir-wm)… And that word is techno. Deep bleeps and endless pulsations, ‘Soft Light’ is an epic moment of pure late night hedonism that sits somewhere between Bobby Peru and Plastikman. Blazing boundaries and still fully loaded, the Duro bandoleros keep on shooting.
