"Based in Los Angeles, Rigopolar is a space disco producer with a deep love of '80s synth sounds. There are five themed jams here; both "Sistema Lunar I" and "Sistema Lunar II" both go to town on moody arpeggiation, the former is deliciously fuzzed-out warm Italo (think Skatebard at his deepest), whilst the latter opts for an accelerated hiNRG route a la Alden Tyrell in his prime. Elsewhere "Sistema Lunar III" delves into eerie suspension like a housier Red Axes and "Sistema Lunar IV" combines movie samples with raw, looped early house grooves. Finally V wraps things up with some melancholic EDM balladry in the style of Kavinsky or M83. Classy stuff"

Sascha Funke - In Relationen (preview)

Secret Life is a lovely little label specialized into all things balearic. They had releases or remixes by a vast array of the most dedicated producers of the genre such as Leo Mas, Jose Padilla, Tempelhof, Steve Cobby (from Fila Brazilia) or Balearic Gabba Soundsystem. Their 20th outing is by our friend Joe Morris from Clandestino in his pure trademark ibizenco style, so relax, breath and have another glass of wine !

bORDEL (@user-628750708)  continues to establish itself as an essential label with a fantastic new EP from @Turbotito featuring remixes from Mondowski and Max Pask.

As well as being one half of Daytime Disco duo Poolside and a member of Ima Robot and Djosos Krost, Filip is also a producer and has produced music for Bonde Do Role, Azealia Banks, Baby Alpaca and many more. He also runs an imprint for his own material but now steps out on bORDEL to showcase his silky skills.

We found it hard to pick a favourite but UK artist and long time dark electronic explorer @Mondowski skilful remix of ‘It’s Always The Same’ blew our mind...a tripped out and languid deep house cut with searching synths and daubs of melodic colour.

It comes in a simple black sleeve + a 14,5x5,5 cm. sticker, as the 1999 Original LP + a double-sided paper insert (21x29,7 cm. 170 gr./m2) including artwork and stories.

This Mini-LP is taken from the rare and so nice 1999 'RUCKUS IN LO-FI' LP (Sweden). A singular Instrumental / Hip Hop and Cut-up/DJ album, with 2 hidden strong Balearic tracks inside. One is the now so famous and in demand 'I dream' gem, a headtrip beauty based on the Pink Floyd groove, with its 1999 ORIGINAL VERSION + a killer 'Wolves of Asha' Balearic Remix from our man JOE MORRIS.

A flip of the record and Step Into A Word confidently marches on through a sparse landscape of descending arpeggios, heart-wrenching keys and spectral steel drums. Closing off the record, Overview Effect is an italo beholden stomper and the definite soundtrack to cosmic melancholia.

Premiere: Kiwi - Warriors [Futureboogie Recordings]

A collaborative project between Rub'n'Tug's Thomas Bullock (who also
records as Bobby Marie and Map of Africa for WWW) and Eddie Ruscha (who
spent time in Medicine, Maids of Gravity and Future Pigeon). "The Rose"
is simply one of the most splendid tracks of the summer. Opening with a
mélange of bells and infinitely sustained piano chords that might be
out of a Pharaoh Sanders early '70s jazz effort, and adding on a guitar
lick that percolates like Mr. Coffee, it only takes off from there.
Once Ruscha's voice comes in talking about "electric shadow, a full
moon in my bed," the song elevates somewhere between spiritual jazz, a
bananas disco dance floor cut and the Alan Parsons Project. The piano
stutters, the bass slides down and then the whole thing bursts forth
anew with ping-ponging squelches and other sorts of analog orgasmic
madness,making for one of the most satisfying 12-inches of the year.
