Dutch producer Lennart debuts on KopjeK Records’ second release with a 4-track electro EP called “Vitamin D”. It features three originals; the Italo and Trance infused club track called “Koalas March” is on the A-side, accompanied by the more dreamy “Vitamin D”. On the other side there is “I Don’t Know Your Life”, a more sentimental approach, which was made together with his partner in crime Lola. French producer Kendal, well known for his releases on Dischi Autunno, Moustache Records and Ritmo Fatale, is on remix duty. He took “I Don’t Know Your Life” for a more old school electro ride. The release came together in the first big lockdown in The Netherlands. The weird times of having to stay home and not being able to play gave Lennart the opportunity and inspiration to create this stellar EP. Early support comes from the likes of Biesmans, Tjade, DC Salas, Mouissie & Miimo.

“Dante” is a strong advocate for the modern iterations of Italo. Colourful, intelligent and eccentric, it represents Loose Fit's sound of positively uplifting synth work.

The A1. Dante provides an anthemic homage to late nights at the disco. Nostalgic, gritty and packed full of emotion, Radondo demonstrates his penchant for 80s synths and ear-worm melodies. Whereas 'Dante' deals with heady euphoria, 'Dust' was cut to settle the score on the dance floor. The ominous bass and processed drums provide a siren call to the ranks of Dark disco.  Flip over to the B-side, and you can find two Italo heavyweights on remix duty. Whereas Franz Scala delivers a bold and driven club cut with "Dust", Jex Brings back the funk with his playful rendition of "Dante", each idiosyncratic and hella effective in their own right. 

Outside of his work under the Radondo moniker, Jimmy Horton is not a man to rest on his laurels. Between time spent composing film scores, running his event night "Tropical Popsicle '', and recording with his band "Truths'', he has managed to find time to move to Berlin and launch his solo project. Lining up 3 EPs for 2022, an appearance on Berlin's infamous Hor radio and support from some of Italo finest, he's already paved the way for a solid year ahead of him.

The North of England is known for its musical prowess. Middlesbrough born Rees taps into that musical history while diving deep into lost disco, obscure wave and even the Middle East for his debut for Bordello. Three Eyes is a melting pot. Setting sail on bold beats and rumbling synthlines, Rees steers the listener through cascading chords, shimmering key shifts and serenading sirens to produce a truly unique dancefloor experience. Tjade, of Koi Jaye fame, is on remix duty. The winning formula of the original is adhered to with adjustments and ablutions guiding this interpretation. BPMs rise to give a fresh burst of energy. The Lille-based label Enlace Records welcomes young and promising producer Laure for its forthcoming release. The interesting “A Confused Mind” comes to life with three well-constructed originals and two insightful remixes made with love by LESSSS and Zaatar زَعْتَر (SXDNS332) and kicks the doors of the dance floors with its bold and energetic attitude. Hailing from Paris, Laure devotes herself to not fluffy genres: From IDM to Industrial Techno with a touch of Acid is what drives her sets and productions. Harshness with a proper dose of emotion and progressiveness define her sonority.

The track we were solicited to premiere/review comes from the mind of another young and promising French talent: Zaatar زَعْتَر is also a member of the dark side of music club. Her debut piece on La Bonne Fête drew the attention of the Indie Dance/Dark Disco community and kicked off her producing career in style.

Her revision of “Messy Thoughts” brings the theme to a more EBM realm – get used to it, that’s how she likes it. With a raw and intense atmosphere, Zaatar’s interpretation comes with heavy doses of darkness and misbehaviour provoked mainly by its robust bassline, a menacing synth layer, and a sort of melodic gait.

People haven't even had a chance to realise that 2021 will be just as weird for the first 6 months and Frankfurt transplant Stefan Haag better known as Chinaski and professional youngster Philipp Lauer already crossed their beams to shed some light into corona-tristesse. City Galerie is a tribute to a mall in the north bavarian town of Aschaffenburg, where Lauer bought his first LPs . Straight up brutalo futuristic architecture. Artwork comes in courtesy of living legend Michael Satter.
