Take a deep breath, the song says, and keep your head under our boot, cause the second EP on Whypeopledance is coming your way.

After the confrontational Jack Carel EP in February, Whypeopledance is back with Marching Machines’ „Basement“ EP, a release dedicated to all the flashes you’re having of the culture we miss so much, to each hiss of the fog machine you remember, everybody you ever touched on the dance floor, and each staircase that took you underground.
Marching Machines are electronic music producer Dimitri Andreas, and former Radius Records boss and DJ, Spacid, both proudly wearing t-shirts saying „More than two decades in the biz“, and hailing from the country that gave the world some of the best electronic music ever, Belgium! Their new EP contains three original tracks, two remixes, and one instrumental, bringing us to a total of 6 reasons to peek through the keyhole and check out what’s hiding in the „Basement“ on our Bandcamp page.

Starting off with „Clamps“, Marching Machines open with a track for the nipples of the world and every club toilet queue you ever waited. The second track „Spreader“ brings you to the deepest darkroom fantasies by presenting memorable melodies. „Leash“ introduces deviant howls and nasty verses by Lithuania’s best-kept secret, Jaroška, something that would easily go on repeat in Gaspard Noe’s RECTUM club from Irreversible.

We are also happy to introduce two very unique flips to fill the basement's prophecy. Carcass Identity remix of „Leash“ is lubed to the bone, an omen of an incoming trip for the dirtiest of dancers. The second remixer on the EP is Five Rituals taking the originally singing synths of the future and cold-blooded march in the „Spreader“ for a walk on the break side of things.

Anna aka Ravage Sentimental teams up with her close collaborator of many years Jérôme as Eftersom, a Swedish term that nods to their bond who has withheld geographical distance, as creativity has no boundaries. Alone on my pillow features Anna’s crystal-clear vocals paired with Jérôme’s electrifying melody atop groovy, spiralling rhythms. Acid Washed offers up an acid-tinged version, while Ana Helder amps up the mystery by adding eerie pads and reverberations. 'Hurricane' is a smokey slice of rolling electro-tech, with Anna’s vocals taking center stage. Italian dance don Rodion reshapes the track into an acid-heavy, dark disco excursion.

Tropical Animals returns with a fantastic record made by NICK ANTHONY SIMONCINO. 
The Italian producer, Deejay and vinyl collector for over eleven years and boasts a collection of over 10,000 vinyl records, mainly Chicago House, Techno Detroit and Garage 80's after releases on Creme Organization, L.I.E.S., Mathematics and many others, arrives to Tropical Animals Records with a Tribal and mystery work. The ep opens with "Persia" and its oriental voices leave room for an intriguing texture and a deep and intense bass. Open the doors of the city of Persia, we arrive to "Jinbì" that with its round and precise kick, its enveloping bass and its syncopated percussion.. it prepares us for "trip to afrika" where you are catapulted into a whirlwind of sensations thanks to its magical bassline. "Survive" is the most acidic dimension of the ep, mixed with tribal sounds from distant countries, which takes us to "Tikidò", a strongly dancefloor track that makes it irresistible with a mesmerizing vocal loop.
The ep closes a remix of the latter made by head honcho Ricardo Baez, which drastically lowers the bpm, making it dark, sensual and mental. Six beautiful tracks that you will want to listen to and dance with your eyes closed.

Julian Fleker is an artist from Argentina, a friend from our origins in the underground of Buenos Aires. Ricardo Ruben's project starting from the name to the artistic side face and composition takes a humorous place, although his musical background is serious. Ricardo Ruben is a character from a song by the 80's rock group Los Twists that carried a share of acid humor. It is then that the name of this Ep is not surprising, nor the way to face a different compositional work, wanting to highlight an idiosyncrasy of personal and local search.
“Sinatra is not dead, Yabran told me” plays with black humor and a story of an Argentine media gate. Yabran was a businessman accused of mafias and corruption that ended in a suicide case where everyone doubted his true death as someones think with Sinatra too. Ricardo Ruben is a drummer and the track is a tremendous banger full of percussions, and acid arpeggios of 303 in staccato where a real drum solo joins playing on top by rolling fills. A song that gallops sideways and that is a traktor pushing pistons like crazy. Weird, jazzy, creepy and bizarre black humor, really irresistible.
“De la cabina a la parrilla” (From the booth to the grill) is another title that plays with the local humor, Ricardo Ruben talks about those Argentine meetings where everything walks around meat and barbecue, and the DJ booth can be set up next to the embers. Diving into that personal identity, his search for sound combines modulations that twist and shoot up and down, hi hats and rides that filter and deform, cowbells in front, gloomy melodies of outof-tune oscillators that give something of a grotesque circus and then come out in synth leads that carry us to an ecstatic trance.
“Sinatra is not dead, Yabran told me” first remix is in charge of Colossio. By slowing it down and adding dirty snares with more cadence, he adds a touch of gloomy sense of humor. Colossio gives it an atmosphere of party music in an abandoned amusement park. That tone of making death funny and filling of skeletons with colors that Mexicans have. Twisted synths simulate monstrous laughter, the modulated bells fill with mystery and intrigue but in the end it all resolves into a charming dance.
Alvaro Cabana and Silicondisco's second remix transform it into a dark bomb for dancefloors. Battery fills that are like whips, shake and sadomasochism. An immense almost techno kick where the acid modulations spill out, giving the track an erotic aesthetic, with a leather shine and a nighttime mood that transports us to a rotten club in Madrid where everything is attitude and exhibitionism.

Tecwaa is no newcomer in the Höga Nord-roster. He has already made two appearances on the label with an album and a single. This, his third release on the label is another 7” containing pure, high quality Left-field and Slow-disco.

The sound in Tecwaa’s music might be explained partly by his geographic position. Being based in York the sound is not as predictable as it might have been if the music was produced in one of the country’s larger cities. It holds a lot of influences found in, say Manchester and London, but still the music holds a contrasting quality with equal parts of freedom and melancholy resounding in the tracks. And the result is unique and beautiful: Airy and free-floating piano drills, dub effects from space and ghost-choruses recorded from secret rooms inside York’s Minister give the electronic sound an organic feel. The melancholy is more of an eerie feeling hiding beneath it all – maybe the case for most DJs living through these times.

Still the show goes on and on and with Tecwaa staying productive and keeping top premium music alive, all the messed-up kids missing life in the clubs get their share while in this hiatus.

Starting off February we have Italo Moderni label-head Adrian Marth. The Barcelona-based DJ and producer's style is a fresh take on italo- and space-disco of the 80's, EBM, and electro. This is exemplified in the diverse set of artists that make up Italo Moderni Vol. 1 and subsequent Vol. 2 VA's that include Sophie du Palais, The Brvtalist, Marcelo Giordani, Kid Machine, Antoni Maiovvi, Juanpablo, as well as productions of his own. His contribution to the GF series is no exception, gradually building up from synthy EBM and italo cuts to banging electro and Dutch west coast tracks. Lock in!

The amazon-naut is Bep Kororoti's second album, the LP arrives at Modern Obscure Music after his mid-2020 release “Love is the way", an EP in collaboration with African singer Akin that aimed to be one of the hits of the summer when the first restrictions were announced during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Clubs and festivals from half of the planet had to cancel plans for the rest of the year.

This second album inspired by the ancient space warrior who brought joy and new knowledge to this little community from the Amazon river is composed of clear ethnic influences, loaded with minimalist rhythms and fragments of film sequences. The LP goes hand in hand with the reinterpretation of the Brazilian Koyapos tribe myth by Marcio Matos, a visual artist in charge of giving face and image to the mesmerizing Portuguese label Principe Discos since its inception.

JIN 03 EP presents a 4 track EP from Osaka's Ground.  True to his unique soul that's reminiscent of a nomad, traversing the planet, befriending kindred spirits found in humans and various environments, this EP presents 4 pieces of unique grooves that ranges from the more euphoric vibe to both daytime & night time of a winter season surrounding a temple. 

On A side "Osakacid" comes in two versions: A1 original version is a slow motion acidic tripper under the winter street of Osaka city lights. Long Flight Version features Mayuko, 1/2 of ambient, electronica duo Synth Sisters. Her soothing melody on synthesizer layered with Ground's goofy acidic flavor compliments perfectly with each other.

B1 turns to the pure creative side of Ground. "Stone Bridge" is based on a local bridge that connects to a temple nearby his country side home outside of Osaka.  Mystic and minimalistically punchy, this cut digs deep into the soulful side of Ground's ever nomadic approach. B2 comes in a complete shock: Ground's longtime friends in Thailand - Mogambo twists up "Stone Bridge" into a psychedelic, GOA fused floor shaker that takes you to an imaginary zone of raving inside the temple late into early morning.
