Shift Work (@shiftworking) are an electronic duo who have previously released on JD Twitch’s Glasgow label Optimo Music. They debut on Houndstooth with ‘Document II’, an EP developed from live jams on outboard analogue gear. ‘Abandoned Hands’ is lean and raw, an angular bassline and indecipherable vox punctuating the relentless 4/4 kick drum and pattering percussion. ‘SBFM’ is fuller-bodied, with the modulating bassline taking centre stage, draped in loose synths and topped with a deadpan vocal refrain.

Shift Work invited remixes from their associates, and the results are impressive, with DVA Damas (@dvadamasdvadamas) dialling down the tempo and stripping back ‘Abandoned Hands’ further still, whilst Factory Floor (@factory-floor) return to remix duty on Houndstooth with a typically subtle yet infectious building take on 'SBFM'.

Shift Work - Abandoned Hands (DVA Damas Remix)

AYE AYE is a project by Carlos Reinoso, one of the most prolific and credible characters of Chile’s musical underground.

He independently developed his work as musician, artist and music collector, releasing his creations via his own label Horrible Registros, and collaborating in several projects as a musician or plastic artist. Ever remembered in the Chilean music scene is his band Mostro that also toured together with Matias Aguayo through Europe and Mexico.

Reinoso is also responsible for one of the Radio Cómeme’s most iconic shows: “La noche de los discos vivientes” in which he rescues Chilean and South American musical heritage presenting his vast shellac collection to the world, alongside the music loving cat and star of the show: Panchito Cabrera.

In 2014 Carlos Reinoso decides to go solo as musician giving life to AYE AYE and tour across Chile, equipped with tapes, machines and plush animals he assembles (and disassembles) himself  - you can see one of them in “Paranormal Series” the online cryptozoology series he produced alongside Matias Aguayo, acting as Professor Bravo.
 
Now, Cómeme releases his new work called WILA WILA, “red blood”, in the Aymara language (which is spoken by the Aymara people of the Andes) AYE AYE continues to explore Latin American aesthetics, investigating Aymara dictionaries, adding Portuguese and Spanish intonations and producing mutations of the rhythmical lineage that flows through the veins of the veins of what you can hear in his radio show.

Aye Aye - Wila Wila - Cómeme

Perched on a crossroads, Pin Up Club approaches electronic music with a magpie’s nature. A spread of styles has been picked, plucked and plundered to make ‘Friends Of The Vortex’. The title piece snaps with clean beats as Blade Runner bars build with an energy that can only be described as palpable. Latin percussion and samples get the groove going for ‘Children Of The Void’. Flirting, the tone twirls and turns. Keys are big and full bodied, balanced perfectly by the crack of a snare. ‘Out Of The Unknown’ closes. A slow burning piece brimming with brooding cinematic shapes and strings, a work that shows the colder edge of this dutch duo. Quality through and through.

Next up on Hell Yeah is another fine transmission from Russia in the form of a Uninc & Kolomensky EP. There must be something in the water over there right now because the country is producing plenty of red hot sounds and this new four tracker is no different. 
Kolomensky just released an EP on UK label Clandestino, has been remixed by Hell Yeah’s Balearic Gabba Sound System as well as Felix Dickinson and has had his tunes played by none other than Andrew Weatherall and Leo Mas. Here he links with partner in crime Uninc and together they have a big arsenal of fat tunes that are wild in tempo, sample based, sprinkled with acid and set to get any party started. This is the first batch of them and it doesn’t disappoint. 
Up first is ‘Bastard’, a loose but body popping tune with 80s electro claps, prickly bass and all sorts of sirens, vocal samples and lasers adding detail to the prowling groove. ‘Doormos’ is more smooth and balearic, with drifting trumpets bringing a beach vibe to the classic vocal samples while ‘Into the Thing’ is a fantastic brew of synths, claps, 909 drums, boogie chords and general wonkiness that will liven up any set, especially with the *** ***** ***** vocal samples. Lastly, 'Svadba' is a full on and busy party tune with stomping drums, wild xylophones and tribal chanting getting you up on your toes with your hands in the air. 
These are four tracks that are packed to the brim with crazy sounds, effects, samples and colour, and they are a lot of fun.

Paris-based imprint @globalwarmingrec starts the decade looking at the future, with a bass-infused Various that compiles four avant-garde club bullets from artists and friends close to the label.
The release is opened by @malcolmaudio , curator of the EP and label honcho, who gives the mood with a slomo post-rave break, where ethereal vocal samples, acid pinches and a loud reese bass are smashed by a hostile kick storm.
Then, the one-man band performer and unpredictable producer Ouai Stéphane delivers an epileptic reinterpretation of his drum and bass roots. His signature bleeping sounds and self-made vocals elements are here chopped over by a frantic pump bass and complex drum patterns. A landmark for the guy.
After what, the dark child Slowglide, previously heard on Antinote or Comic Sans Records makes here his Global Warming debut, delivering the perfect anthem for Gotham City nightclubs, merging industrial mood and codeine effect into one.
Finally, closing the whole thing, Parisian badman Jon Beige delivers a mental half-time gabber creature, where a bone-crusher rythmic section blends with thrilling industrial jams, sci-fi atmospheres and a haunting vocal, at the speed of light.

Stripping back most of the vocals, he morphs the track into a hypnotic wave cut, propped up by driving synth lines. Crossing Prior Street will be released on 27th March with further remixes from the likes of Radioactive Man, Trenton Chase and Anna Wall...

Elizabeth Wight and Mike Simonetti alias Pale Blue hit us with the release of their latest track Breathe on 2MR a few days back as Elizabeth Wight refers to some of the darkest chapters of her life to come up with a brutally honest and vigorous message people out there need to hear, need to think about and need to reflect. The New Yorkers, known for raw political messages in their partly peak time music, once again deliver a catchy dramatic piece of music, whose chords not ony remain in one's ear but rather stay on your mind for a long time: in a ruthlessly honest manner. With the original composition of Breathe, a remix of Olive T and two more original tracks, namely I Walk Alone At Night and I Wallk Alone With Acid. Now Brooklyn-based producer Lauren Flax finally releases her remix approach of the track, which focusses on crystal-clear icey chords with a deep note and implements selected bits of Elizabeth's vocals. The result is a intriguing and meaningful deeply-touching and dubby approach that radiates warmth in the icy cold.

Lauren Flax's remix for Pale Blue's track Breathe will be released on 2MR on April 3rd, 2020.

Therefore, we have decided to move forward with our plan
to release a little digital compilation to celebrate our 5th label birthday. 5 tracks for 5 years.

To the task we have asked a couple of family members to
contribute tracks as well as uncovered some secret versions we've been playing out for quite some time now and felt it is the right time to release them. As you can guess from the tracklist, the compilation is diverse in styles and goes from drones slow trance to diy Post Punk to ambient.
