@XXXTheLabel is a new dutch label created by a bunch of friends that run the eponym "XXX" club nights in Amsterdam. We supported their very cool first release by "Jack Pattern" through our infamous Youtube channel and now comes in a few weeks the second one by Lipsky brother's Simple Symmetry . We do really like their unique fresh blend and premiered not so long ago their track Kalimba on "Cosmic Pint Glass". But to change a bit the game, here is the Marvin & Guy's Afterhour Mix, a long 10 mn epic cut you'd already wish to hear at 6am. in a summer beach festival on those "hands in the air" euphoric moments ! Initially described as “superlative 25th century electronic exotica” by Cowboy Rhythmbox themselves, the fourth EP from Phantasy’s in-house trouble and hitmakers received continued support from top jocks including Dixon, Jackmaster and Marcel Dettmann. Now, it’s dynamic lead track is rejigged, expanded upon and shot through with analogue energy by two equally inventive producer pairings.

Fellow outsiders on the inside of the house of house, Israel’s finest Red Axes take the first turn, coaxing the cosmos out of the original and allowing the bewildering vocal samples to lead the way through waves of more than pleasurable cosmic tension. Soon, with the timing just right, feet to pedals and strobe to hand, the pair unleash a series of distorted guitar licks that blow dust off the stacks, even throwing in a sharp blast of their trademark surrealist vocals for extra freaky FX.

On the flip, Marvin & Guy zone out and hone in on the original’s EBM-indebted elements to contribute a trippy, wave-riding electro rework that oscillates irresistibly. Teasing listeners with a playful, almost naive synth line, the mood shimmers instead with uncompromising acid, as the pair ultimately push the modulars into strange and hypnotic territories to get lost in.

Leading Mexican label @DuroLabel welcome countryman @Rigopolar with four  fantastically expansive and expressive disco tunes.

The now US based Rigopolar is a cosmic explorer and space sound aficionado with credits on the likes of Tom Tom Disco dating back five or so years.

‘Time’ is a lush cut with plenty of glistening and glowing synths. Always ascending through the mix, they lift your spirits and hands in equal measure while the deeper drums keep your feet moving.

From the moment of its release, Iñigo Vontier’s El Hijo del Maiz has become one of the most gripping albums of the moment. With South American and Middle Eastern sounds and his conception of music as ritual, the Mexican DJ keeps electronica in check as a valid mix of influences. The EP El Hijo Del Maiz Remixes, marks the end of an episode which started, in good company, last autumn on the Lumière Noire label.
The second track of his album, Bo Ni Ke, is distinguished by its original - almost implausible - universe, with a Japanese-inflected vocal filter and oriental flutes taking the beats into a crazy trance. Leaning on the 4/4 rhythm, Simple Symmetry’s remix of the track is also very playful (Iñigo Vontier recently remixed Nar for Simple Symmetry). The Moscow duo, noted in particular for the brilliant EP Plane Goes East released on Disco Halal (the Moscoman label which makes the link between east and west), pulls the track over to another - less terrestrial more psychedelic - universe, in their well identified ethno-underground style.

Enduro Disco strikes back with another distinctively different slice of electronic joy for Exploited. A cute Bollywood-reminiscent female vocal sample provides the colourful centrepiece of ‘Ciao’, where filtered, sidechained orchestral strings pulse beneath saccharine synth melody and heady FX and percussion conversations. A lazy bass groove combines with the optimistic melodies to create a dreamy, summery feel that has the innocence of childhood about it. The track builds brilliantly through shimmering percussion and fizzing chords to the most blissed-out and chilled of crescendos.
Biesmans pushes the button marked ‘Full Italo’ and sets the feel-good dial to ‘11’ on his spunky remix, pitching wiggling bass arpeggios against triumphant chords, deft ‘80s drums and spine-tingling melody. Set in this context, the vocal becomes a triumphant battle cry, and the layer upon layer of gorgeous synth magic propels the track into fist-pumping, joyous echelons.
Johannes Albert goes into a deeper disco place, lacing the languid original with flecks of gentle acidic bubbling and playful melodies. Big snare hits add a little weight to the warmth of the melodic parts, all in all making for another perfect summer jam. Instrumentals are provided to use at your discretion.
