During the Paris attacks in January 2015, we were recording our second album. To evacuate all the sadness and the lack of understanding generated by these tragic events, we wrote a spontaneous and naive song, torn between the urge to cry and the need to party.

This song is called LOVE.

And then, 10 days ago, tragedy struck again. We listened to the song, we played it together. While playing it, we have been deeply moved, and we felt the need to share it with you. You can listen to it, download it, you can keep it to yourself, share it with your friends and family, you can love it or hate it…

When thinking back about the process of making this song, it was a real turning point in the creation of our album. After our first album came out, we were forced to completely rethink how we would make our second record, as the band had gone from a little project made in our bedrooms, to something that had to follow up that initial success. We struggled through the first half of making our record, not really knowing what we wanted to say or where we wanted to take the music. It often felt forced or rushed. We were in the studio late one night, and after smoking a joint, we went back to track this song live off the floor, with the percussion and backing tracks playing behind us. The drums, guitar, bass, and Rhodes were all played live as one take in a room together. The half time breakdown at the end of the song was improvised, and at the end of that take we were all high fiving in the room together. It felt natural, organic, and straight from the heart. We hope you have as much fun listening to it as we did making it.
