Some may strive for technical perfection, others for fame and fortune… but music from the soul makes connections real. Brings us together, and funks us up to the rhythm of life. This is some rockin Americana from the hills of Kentucky. 
          The current arrangement of Keith Clifton on banjo, Wes Petzinger on guitar, Dave Hawkins on mandolin, and John Atha on upright bass, has composed the Downtown County Band for the past two productive years. During this time, back in 2010, these fine young Kentucky artists released their self-titled debut album. 
          It has been their shared appreciation for roots music, delta blues, old-time new-time country and rock, that has enlivened their original sound and allows them to breathe new life into a classic bluegrass arrangement. Much of the band’s inspiration and creative energy is drawn from the jug band tradition of the 1920s and 30s... a tradition born on the banks of the Ohio River... renewed years apart by musicians walking the same Louisville mile. 
          Along the way, since the release of their debut album… the DCB has acquired percussionist Jason Halker. Just last March 2012 the band recorded their highly anticipated second studio album “That a Way,” released on August 30th. Having added 10 excellent new original songs to their growing catalogue, with recently acquired professional management, the band has taken some long strides toward accomplishing its goals. For the joy of music it’s an exciting time for The Downtown County Band!

New England-based Magic Man was started by childhood friends Alex Caplow (vocals) and Sam Vanderhoop Lee (guitars and keyboards) while they traveled abroad trading labor for room and board on a series of French organic farms, creating the music for what would become Magic Man during their travels.  When Caplow and Lee decided to take the band on the road, they added college friend Justine Bowe on keyboard and Joey Sulkowski on drums.  Magic Man recently released their You Are Here EP on Columbia Records ahead of their forthcoming full length.

Band History

In 2013, frontman Tanner Blevins and guitarist Patrick Brumback shared a Morehead State dorm hallway and musical dreams. With Tanner’s older sister Amanda joining on vocals and songwriting duties, the band quickly took shape, releasing Conclusions in 2014 — a charmingly DIY debut full of personal, scornful laments and loose acoustic-pop, setting the tone for the heartfelt, genre-blurring path ahead. They followed with 2015’s Growing Pain EP.

Chasing a bigger sound, the band headed to Nashville to record The Edge EP at Blackbird Studios. A run of polished singles followed — “All of Me,” “Halfway,” “New Addiction,” and “Tubesox” — recorded back home at Lexington’s Shangri-La Studio with Duane Lundy. With the addition of powerhouse drummer Matt Holleran and bassist Jared “Hippie” Davis, Wicked Peace also dove deep into production work, building their own Butchwood Studios in the process.

Over the next few years, the band entered their most prolific era: four EPs (The Portland EP, The Evening EP, The High Road EP, Scott Named the Band (Live at Butchwood)), high-energy singles like “(Take Off My) T-Shirt” and “Ur Welcome,” and — at last — their first full-length album: 2019’s Rock N Roll Racecar, a full-throttle showcase of their growth, humor, and heart.

In 2023, the band returned with Wicked Peace, a self-titled record that sharpened their hooks and expanded their palette — delivering 10 hummable, harmonized songs about heartbreak, resilience, and boats.

Now in 2025, Wicked Peace celebrates 13 years together with two retrospective releases:
Still Wicked After All These Years: Greatest Hits (2013–2025) — a curated collection of 13 essential tracks — and Wicked Pieces: Oddities, Rarities, Demos & Live Cuts, a companion compilation digging into the band’s offcuts, weird gems, and long-lost audio artifacts.
