Filled with loads of riffs of sharp, bright Leads, Lush DX EPS chords, heavy Detroit Bass lines, versatile rhythms & palettes on top of Jays signature polyrhythms. Coming off his last LP "Horizon" which was focused on society and internal reflection of 2020's pandemic lockdown, "HEAT" is as Jay puts it, is "Slappin MFs Awake!".

"This LP is by far my fav work i'v done to date, which says a lot given my catalog iv dropped so far. This is truly for the Summer, hence the title & the particular composition throughout this body of work which is essentially a Soundtrack for the Summer ventures. Some tracks purely for the Sunset drives, some for Sunrise drives & others for the night life. It plays a lot off my upbringing in the 90s & how i see the Summer & the memories i have that went into making this project of greatness. Pulling from both my lived experience from the Midwest back home to living on the West Coast is what curated HEAT."

Rather it's Detroit's "Woodward Phunk" which Jay calls upon the genre "D Funk" that combines Detroit House & Funk, or it's "Keys 2 The City" that will put you in the mind of New Jack City vibes of the NYC 90s or maybe it's Jays "Dreamer" which is a Lush smooth ride of RollerSkate bliss of the late 90s R&B & Jazz Fusion."

Rain Cloud, is the first song in a series of tracks that will focus on a fictional tale dealing with real life issues, tragedies, and triumphs. The root for this story lies between true events and some imagination, but I believe we can all relate to the hardship the characters face in the opening act. One, where life decisions don't always lead to a binary choice or where our emotions and sanity aren't always fully in control. This is us trying to see things from other's eyes and hoping to use art to evoke response and discussion.

Sivey - World Series

The follow up to Juicy The Emmisary’s fantastic 2017 SCM debut isn’t truly a follow up. The A-side of 2019’s “Timber” was found by SCM head House Shoes in 2016 while digging around on SoundCloud. ‘Shoes hit Juicy and let him know he was interested in releasing it on Street Corner Music, he just needed him to give him the B-side tracks. Juicy said he would oblige, but told ‘Shoes he had just finished another project and would sent that thru as well. That project would turn out to be ‘Attention Kmart Choppers’, one of the illest beat tapes ever in the medium. Juicy dissected a vault of Kmart’s musical library that would be played in-store while customers shopped in the 1980’s. Flawless.

He eventually completed the B-side that ‘Shoes needed to complete the album that initially garnered his interest in Juicy.

And here it is. Timber. Chop Chop.
