New York City-born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentist based in Gloucestershire, England.

Ash Wilson is one of England’s most distinctive vocalists, guitarists and songwriters in contemporary blues music today. 

Drawn to the Blues music his parents introduced him to, (artists such as Muddy Waters, Son House, Eric Clapton and Albert King), It became obvious his ambition as a 14 year old was to become a great Artist like his heroes. 

Early in his career he co-founded East Midlands based Blues band The Melt. He was 16. In three years of touring and opening for such acts as: Walter Trout, Mountain,  Doctor Feelgood and The Animals. The band released there critically acclaimed “self titled” album. Voted “debut album of the year by Blues In Britain magazine” Showing Ash at the age of 17 was already a gifted guitarist, vocalist and songwriter.

Ash in his early 20’s decided to join “DJUNE, featuring his Brother Phil Wilson, (Laurence Jones, Scott Mckeon, Sean Webster), on drums, Greg Smith, (Sean Webster), on the Bass and Robert Patchett on Guitar. After further crafting a rare and distinctive songwriting, guitar and singing skills he wrote and recorded tracks featured in films by “Wavelength” Europe’s biggest surfing magazine. Djune where performing with Ocean Colour Scene, The Kooks and Pigeon Detectives.

After a break in performing, Ash returned to being a live performer with alternative rock band Infamous Vampires. Co-founded with his brother Phil Wilson the band was created as a canvas for them to indulge in a darker setting and delve into a more complex place both lyrically and musically. The self titled album was released in May of 2014. Although the project was not a serious outfit it did see the start of Ash’s writing relationship with his brother Phil.

In 2014 he became a full time member of the Sean Webster Band. Being a part of Sean’s band Ash, working both as a rhythm and lead player transformed Sean’s live set and the well received album “see it through” 

In 2016 Ash was asked to join, Jesse Davey's Big Blues Band, co-writing and singing the song “The Revalator" from the “Big Blues Album” Which came 3rd in the 2016 “best Album Category. The album also featured blues greats, Hugh Coltman, Ian Siegle, Pete Gage, Scott Mckeon, Sam Bratley, Phil Wilson and Mark Barret. 
 With all this outside activity, Ash has never written a solo album. But while honing his skills as a guitarist, songwriter and singer, he stockpiled ideas and songs he'd written for himself as well for, Sean Webster, The Melt, Jesse Davey. He selected songs and co-written songs with his brother for his Debut solo album, Broken Machine,

Since 2015, in the year following his daughters birth, Ash’s influences of life journeys and reflections manifest themselves in Broken Machine’s message and soul.

The coming release of Ash's debut album featuring Phil Wilson on drums (Jesse Davey, Laurence Jones), Roger Inniss on Bass (Chaka Khan, Laurence Jones) and Bob Fridzema on Keys (KING KING, Dana Fuchs) Also appearing on Broken Machine is Jesse Davey (The Hoax) on the song "The Hitcher”. Is a watershed achievement for Ash Wilson, both in terms of the many musical styles in the tracks, which begin and end with the blues at its core, with the explorations and growth of him as a singer, songwriter and guitarist. Resulting in the spiritual growth expressed through the medium of his music.

Growing up in the sleepy county of Lincolnshire music was one thing that held my attention. After experimenting with Piano and drums I eventually found myself strapped onto an electric guitar. Drawn to the Blues music my parents introduced me to, (by artists such as Muddy Waters, Son House and Albert King), I realised that the music I wanted to play was that of substance and meaning. I wanted to be involved in creating a sound that transcended the narrow and manufactured music I had previously been exposed to. Upon leaving the Sam Newsom Music College I realised that in order to do this the focus needed on the song rather than trying to cram in flashy guitar solos.
 
In 2001 I co-founded a band called The Melt (called so due to our wish at the time to be a 'melting pot' of genres). While this band had a short life it did act as a launch pad for my career and introduced me to song writing. After three years of touring the British Isles releasing our first and only self titled album (lauded “debut of the year” by Blues Matters Magazine) I was ready to try my hand at being a front man and principle song writer.
 
This next project I was involved with was called DJUNE. Again, founded again by myself and this time my brother Phil Wilson I decided to continue with developing my craft as a song writer. Working alongside producer Wayne Proctor (King King, Aynsley Lister, Tantrum), a batch of songs were written and recorded which led to the band performing with Ocean Colour Scene, The Kooks and Pigeon Detectives as well as appearing on the bill of the 2009 Summer Sundae Festival. During this period I also worked alongside Scott Mckeon for the artist James Parker and worked on an album entitled '40 Years of thunder' by Ian Gill Franklin as a guitarist, bassist and co-producer.
 
2012 saw the beginning of Infamous Vampires. This project once again co-founded with my brother was created as a canvas for me to indulge in a darker setting and delve into a more complex place both lyrically and musically. At present we are set to release our debut self titled album at the end of May. Also In 2014 I became a full time member of the Sean Webster Band. I was particularly drawn to this project not only because of Sean's songwriting but also as I up to this point had not had a great deal of experience as a side man and felt it would be a fun and challenging project for me to be involved in. Along with recording and performing I have continually worked as a Guitar Tutor in schools across the county as well as working as a lecturer at Access to Music College Lincoln.
