Widetrack is the musical partnership of father-son duo of Ron and Zach Tippin. 

The band's "Alterna-Prog" sound has been described as "Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling conducts a group therapy session with members of Soundgarden, Pink Floyd and Rush".

Their formative discography consists of 2007's self-titled debut, 2009's Widetrack II, and Zach's 2018 debut with the band, Widetrack III.  All three albums were co-produced by Andy Patalan, guitarist for popular '90s grunge-rock band, Sponge. 

Beginning in January 2019, the father-son team wrote, recorded and released one new song each month, marking Zach's debut as a songwriter and recording engineer, as well as the first time Ron had written Widetrack music with another person. 

The twelve songs comprise Widetrack's fourth album, The Unwakening, released on April 23rd, 2020 (Zach's 16th birthday). 

Once the pandemic lockdown was lifted, they quickly began gaining considerable attention on the live music scene, inspiriting audiences with their electrifying energy and mood-enhancing vibe.

Presently, the duo is playing select shows in preparation for the release of their fifth album, Monoliths.

"You don't sound like anyone else," said Danny Thompson - renowned bass player for Nick Drake and Joe Strummer - about English musician Conil.

The GRAMMY-winning engineer for Tom Waits and Elvis Costello, Tchad Blake said: "Strange Part of the Country is an awesome album! I still listen to it."

Fleetwood Mac legend Peter Green liked Conil's music so much he stopped by Conil’s house to record with him. They recorded a version of Conil's homage to the jazz greats "Round Midnight". 

Strange Part of the Country never conformed to any current trends and has remained timeless. Now, people are discovering this album and it is becoming an all-time favourite. 

When the album was released in the UK, it received some amazing press. Britain's biggest selling music monthly Q magazine gave it: "Four stars - Q Recommends". Blues Matters magazine wrote: "One of the most original artists out there". In the next issue, Blues Matters put him on the front cover.

Conil left London after Strange Part of the Country was released and has spent the last ten years living in the United States and Europe - including New Orleans, New York City, and Berlin.

The duo's "Alterna-Prog" sound strikes a balance between the moody-deep undertones of such progressive groups as Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, The Mars Volta, etc., with the heaviness of alternative and hard rock bands like Soundgarden, Queens Of The Stone Age, Tool, STP, etc. 

Between 2007 and 2016, Ron self-released the band's first three albums, 'Widetrack', 'Widetrack II', and 'Widetrack III', Zach's recording debut, as bassist.
