Glasgow based Kenny Campbell has gained a reputation for delivering hard hitting sets whether they are techno, industrial, EBM or old skool hardcore. He’s as comfortable playing at 100 bpm as he is 300 bpm.
In recent years he’s been a regular at Drøne in Manchester as well as playing all over the UK, Europe and as far afield as Sri Lanka, with frequent appearances in Germany, France and Netherlands. In his travels he’s played alongside such diverse names as Nitzer Ebb, KRTM, Laurent Ho, Philipp Strobel, Black Kolor, Crystal Geometry, The Horrorist, Easygroove, Autumns, D.Carbone, The Mover and many more.
Running the label Pitch Dark Records, initially with Alex Mullen and now on his own, has seen the label go from strength to strength, with releases being supported by many A list names. As a producer he achieved his life long dream of releasing on Industrial Strength Records. With other notable releases and remixes on Drøne, Eradys, RIOT Radio Records, SHISHI, Revok, OSM Tapes, Nu Body and Tjalk records. His long term collaboration with Huck Farper as Bone 
 Skippers has featured on Monolith Records, Green Fetish Records and Wunderblock with his now prolific collaboration with Duellist has seen releases on Scuderia, Black Verb, Dissonanze, Clan Destine Records and Instruments of Discipline.
His love of 90s hardcore has been a focus and along with Technotrance they have relaunched Judgement Day Records and collaborated on Malevolent Forces, with the aim of bringing the sound of 90s hardcore to a new generation of ravers and old
heads alike.

Part 3 of DFTD's 2nd anniversary comes courtesy of Red Deviil; a duo project of Guni Ca and Blak G, from Chiapas, Mexico. They define their sound as "raw & fat", influenced by EBM, Techno and Industrial music.

Their works have been released on labels such as X-IMG, Detriti Records, Intervision Label, Body Musick, SHISHI, OSM Tapes, Haunted Space. They also own and founded Astro Bar Chill, a club based in Tuxtla Gutierrez, focused on underground electronic music.

DFTD 2 Years of Damnation Pt.3 - Red Deviil

From the deep confines of the universe, we receive emissions of HC Records’ 21st release - Those Dark Whims by UHF, the production duo and Gladio Operations label heads José Castillo and David Aragón. An exciting digital LP from which a selection of tracks have been extracted for vinyl along with remixes by two label regulars, Estrato Aurora and The Lost Boys.

Skynet Was Shy opens both the LP and the vinyl, a hypnotic starting point in which the most vibrant and crystalline electro fuses with acid sequences to generate a state of pure trance, complimented and driven by spiralling sequences and mantra-like vocals. The second track on the LP and A2 on the vinyl is The Lost Boys' remix of Skynet Was Shy. A rough and sharp reinterpretation where the use of 303 sequences continues but focuses on more of a physical than a mental dance.

Hanging Baskets reactivates the state of infinite mental suspension that underlies this powerful and bold composition with deft and minimalistic use of elements: sharp broken rhythms, a dense melodic environment but with occasional moments of pure light and a new vocal message that ignites in our minds.

The B-side kicks off with Estrato Aurora's remix of Day Dream, which as usual in the work of the acclaimed Valencian producer, extends the original version to 8 minutes, giving it an unusual emotionality created by an amalgam of sound textures that interweave multiple pads, mutant melodies and pulsating percussion. Closing the vinyl, UHF's machines join forces with the lyrics of another electro heavyweight in Protestas En Las Redes Feat. Dark Vektor, a combative discourse in which the powerful and robotic vocal message of the Terrassan producer ascend alongside the futuristic melodies, extra-dimensional violins, spatial arpeggios, and metallic rhythms of the Madrid duo.

Five bonus tracks complete the UHF experience, starting with the title track, Those Dark Whims, a perfect blend of funk bass lines, helical synthesisers sequencing sonic chains of acid trance and legendary vocal samples.

The original version of Day Dream, is perhaps the LPs deepest and most emotional track. Low bpms, a rapturous rhythm that alternates syncopated passages with a commanding 4x4 and an atmosphere reminiscent of film noir soundtracks.

Lowering our heartbeat even more to a chill out state, Space Marmalade is served to us rich and tasty on a slice of toast, all sweetness with a purple and phosphorescent touch in this extra-terrestrial downtempo composition. We wake up from the space dream to embrace the emotions created by Tales Of Saigon, Belgian-flavoured Techno that reminds us of early 90s compositions with renewed sound aesthetics that we could imagine moving to on the dance floor of the mythical Boccaccio Life. A wink to the 1979 classic, The Warriors, directed by Walter Hill leads us into Baseball Furies, a playful, nocturnal, and hyper-muscular slice of electro. Thick drums, bouncy bass, fx and dark pads unify mystery and rogue dance.

On Tuesday 30/04/24 the LP will be presented live at Killing Time, the physical headquarters of the label located in Valencia. Following an interview conducted by HC label boss David Verdeguer, the duo will be DJing along with two of the vinyl’s guest remixers, Estrato Aurora and The Lost Boys.

Following an open call launched by Malaise Vagal with the support of Agressive(s), dozens of artists donated sonic artworks to help raise funds for Ibrahim Badra. Ibrahim, a 22 year old graduate from Gaza was displaced from his home and is now documenting his daily life in the refugee camp of Deir El-Balah.

We call on fans, friends and strangers to buy a track or the entire volume of the compilation to help us bring Ibrahim to safety. No amount is too big or small.

All funds will be donated to Ibrahim Badra and Agressive(s) shall report on the amounts raised weekly.
