The inspiration for Wild Rust goes back to Nov. 2019 when husband & wife Mark Gusick and Margo Gusick became deeply moved by the stories of early American folk/country groups. This was their motivation to start the band. Then Covid happened. Fortunately, the shutdowns didn't hinder their sound's development, as they would regularly meet up with friends and future bandmates to jam for hours.

Born to an outlaw biker father and 16 year old mother, R.W. Roldan came of age in the Los Angeles of the 60’s and 70’s. His family spent a few years homeless, prompting him to join the navy at 17. His young life was full of hard circumstances and difficult environments but Roldan always seemed to soften things with his easy knack for storytelling.

Upon returning to California from his time abroad, R.W. worked all around the San Fernando Valley, immersing himself in the blues and Americana scene. He gravitated towards music and poetry, appreciating contemporary wordsmiths like Dylan and Dr. Seuss as much as American treasures such as Yates and began crafting his own indelible blend of country blues folk rock - a sound that lands somewhere between Hank Williams and Cowboy Junkies.

 R.W. now splits his time between his house in the Topanga hills and a newly-purchased dwelling that once belonged to Fatty Arbuckle in Silverlake, where he’s building a studio in the basement. It was professed to be haunted for the past 12 years, but R.W. found it a suitably creative environment to craft the songs on his official solo outing, Can You Feel This, due out August 17th.

The new LP puts Roldan's adept storytelling front and center, backed by his easy going guitar, mandolin and dobro chops. Tracks like “Big Skies” and “Falling Star” paint an authentically haunting, nostalgic panorama of Los Angeles, while laid back ballads such as “Lauryn’s Song” reveal a sweeter side to the man. It’s all melted in the sweet butter sauce of producer Max Allyn who recently signed R.W. to his AllsWell Records imprint out of Nashville.

Jesse MacLeod has been given the gift of a naturally distinctive, soulful voice. Having grown up in the North Torrance district of South Los Angeles County, he first found his love for the microphone when he started going to shows in the LA underground hip hop scene at 16 years old. He knew he wanted to be an emcee the first time he heard Slug of Atmosphere on a mix CD and saw LA hip hop legends Freestyle Fellowship perform live.

He began spitting rhymes in ciphers (freestyle rap circles) at house parties and school. This eventually led to him rocking microphones at house parties and by the time he reached college, he was performing regularly in small clubs in the Los Angeles and Orange County underground hip hop scene.

It wasn’t until he turned 23 that he picked up a guitar for the first time. When he did, something changed; the guitar, singing and songwriting became an obsession and within a year he had transitioned into a Roots/Americana/Soul singer-songwriter. This abrupt change in musical direction led him to be influenced by the likes of such artists as Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton and Amos Lee.

Being the son of famed bluesman Doug MacLeod, Jesse began absorbing the sound of Blues, Soul and Jazz at a young age. Vinyl records from greats such as Albert King, Donny Hathaway and Kenny Burrell played regularly through the stereo of his childhood home. The culmination of these vast influences are all clearly apparent in him today.

In 2011, Jesse had the honor of having his song “As The Summer Wanes” placed on an episode of NBC’s The Voice and has released two commercial recordings: In Between Homes (2010) and Red Flags (2012.) He now spends his time performing regularly in the Los Angeles singer/songwriter scene and cowriting with other songwriters. He makes his living performing at colleges, weddings and private events across the country.

Creekwood was formed in late 2012 in Nashville, TN when singer-songwriter duo Andrew McBride (guitar, lead vocals) and Cooper Nelson (banjo, vocals) teamed up with Bryan Hall (mandolin, vocals, bass) to form an original group reaching back to the roots of country music.  After moderate success in the Nashville area, McBride and Nelson took the group west to Long Beach, CA where they teamed up with local musicians Mathias Chaidez (violin, vocals), Levi Duren (drums, vocals), and Rob Orr (bass, vocals).  They hit the ground running, releasing their first EP in September of 2013 and playing numerous shows in the Orange County and Los Angeles area.  They are truly an Americana band, drawing from styles such as Bluegrass, Old Time Country, Rock, and Blues.  This unique blend of genres is proving to be a breath of fresh air in a music scene that is looking for innovators.  Be sure to hop along for the ride, there’s always room for more!

Bob Woodruff is a critically acclaimed songwriter and recording artist from NYC. He has recorded for various labels including, Restless/Enigma, Elektra/Asylum, Imprint and Interscope Records. More than a few top critics have stated that his albums are among the finest country-rock records ever released.

His songs, which meld R&B, Country and Rock, have attracted some of the most talented players in the world to his recording sessions and are graced by many Rock ‘n’ Roll and Country Music Hall of Famers including: Emmylou Harris, Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers), Gary Tallent (Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band), Bernie Leadon (The Eagles), James Burton (Elvis), Glen D Hardin (Elvis), Marc Ford (Black Crowes), Lucinda Williams, Sam Bush (New Grass Revival) and Pig Robbins to name only a few.

While Bob took some time to pursue other interests outside the music business for awhile, he is currently living in Los Angeles where he is writing songs and composing music for motion pictures, television and other recording artists. His latest album, "The Year We Tried To Kill The Pain", was recorded and released in Europe in September 2013 where it debuted at #1 on the EuroAmericana Chart.

It may come as a surprise to hear the strains of Appalachian and Americana music channeled through five guys from Los Angeles, CA, but heartache, loss and regret have always been the cornerstones of great music, and this city has more than its share. In a town better known for porn stars and face lifts, anything as authentic and heartfelt as Roses's Pawn Shop is a pleasant surprise.

Singer/songwriter Paul Givant grew up on the same disparate array of popular musical styles as any other late 20th century kid. In that mishmash of Rock, Punk, Country, Pop, and Rap, it was American Folk and Bluegrass that rooted deepest in Paul, transforming him and his songs. Having made the rounds in various rock bands since early high school, Paul decided it was time to take his growing batch of new folk-oriented songs and create a band that could deliver this material the way he imagined it sounding.

As so many fortuned events have unfolded, it was through a series of chance meetings, twists of fate, and a little help from Craigslist, that Paul met kindred spirits in Stephen Andrews, John Kraus, Tim Weed and Christian Hogan. Together they began building the music and the band that would soon become Rose's Pawn Shop. They combined, in their collective musical melting pot, the old style American sounds of Woody Guthrie, Bill Monroe, and Hank Williams with a higher energy approach more reminiscent of modern Alt-Rock, all with a deeply melodic songwriting sensibility. The goal was to create a sound that was unique, yet imbued with a sense of familiarity.

The final ingredient was added one fateful day when Paul's scorned ex-girlfriend/former band-mate, Rose, in an act of revenge, stole the band's gear and instruments from their practice space and brought it down to the local pawn shop. Priceless! The match was lit ... and Rose's Pawn Shop was born! (Of course, not until after they got their gear out of hock!)

In 2010, the near-current line-up of the band recorded the album "Dancing on the Gallows," and the band began hitting the road. Once the final line-up was locked in, they began touring the United States more consistently and have ever since. On any given night, you could find Rose's Pawn Shop playing the Georgia Theatre in Athens, busking the streets of Jackson Square in New Orleans, opening for Jack White and The Raconteurs at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, ripping the walls off the club in their month long residence at the Parkside Lounge in New York City, or hitting the main stages of prestigious festivals such as Floydfest in Virginia and Wakarusa in Arkansas. The band is out there, growing their music, iginiting their passion, and converting an ever-increasing congregation of fans.

With an arsenal of guitars, banjo, thumping upright bass, fiddle and drums, delivering neo-classical-sounding melodies and lyrics, their sound is a wholesome mishmash of creek mud, rusty nails and your mom's cookin'. It's sincere, straight-forward and sexy as fuck, effortlessly combining such disparate musical styles as rock, country, bluegrass, and punk to create an incomprehensibly smooth and accessible sound for true believers and skeptics alike.

They confront traditional country music themes of loss, lamentation, and redemption, with a couple of drinking songs for good measure. Sure, they're borrowing pages from the books of Hank Williams, Bill Monroe, and Johnny Cash, but Rose's Pawn Shop takes those pages, tears them up and sets them on fire with three and four part vocal harmonies and lyrics that'll break your heart.

Something happens when you hear these songs. No matter how low you've sunk, something in the music finds you. It picks you up and carries you home.

As of Spring 2014, Rose's Pawn Shop has a new album in the can, produced and mixed by Ted Hutt (Old Crow Medicine Show, Gaslight Anthem, Dropkick Murphy's). The band is working on potential release dates now, so stay tuned!
